Beyond the Photo... Road Trip to North West Ireland
Very nice, I definitely need to pay a visit sometime!! The black and white photo of Cornwall you show early on is the Camborne/Redruth mining district, most of those engine houses and stacks have long vanished but Cooks Kitchen, Tin Croft, South Crofty and Robinsons shaft are all still there, I live in that area, the engine house at a Tin Croft is the last remaining man engine house in Cornwall!! I’ve given you a follow over on instagram.
Thanks for that Marcus, a follow back! Will certainly visit Cornwall at some stage, it's one of those locations on the list!!
@@damienjackson7174 be sure to give me a shout when you do, I’ll happily show you around.
I think I need to visit Ireland to see your Cornish engine houses, great video, beautiful scenery.
Thank you very much @cornwalloncamera appreciate your kind words! There's another here at Allihes in West Cork if you haven't seen this video th-cam.com/video/U2Ern5PtsEQ/w-d-xo.html Thanks for watching!

Thanks for watching and you kind comments David, agree the Fairy Pools were just fabulous...despite the low water the conditions and light were beautiful...love to go back!
Another great video and super images, Damien. Very much enjoyed watching. The light you got at Sligachan and the Fairy Pools was sublime. It is a fair slog up the Old Man - reminded me at the time of how unfit I was! Looking forward to the next one. Jimmy
Thanks very much Jimmy, it's a god hike no doubt, I still laugh at me thinking we'd trot up for a recce, come down and go back for sunset!! Thanks for watching!

I like your style of presenting your work. No drama, no fake danger or hectic around taking your images. Thank you for your videos, excuse my German school English.
Vielen Dank Gregor, I appreciate your kind comments. No excuse needed it's very good!
Looooved this video and your photos are stunning. Scotland is on my bucket list as well. I was thinking October, less tourist (ironically as that sounds) less midges and cheaper. I was looking at a group photo tour (didn’t want to do another solo vacation). Any thoughts on the time of month, recommendations on a tour guide or going at alone? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Cheers
Beautiful images Damien. You gave great explanations of what you were thinking when composing your shots. I really want to go to Scotland this year. I was hoping to join a tour or small group would you have any suggestions on contacts? Is October a good time to visit? I'm coming from Canada.
Thank you very much for your kind comments Stewart. This was my first trip to Scotland Stewart, I live in Ireland and I just did my own research and travelled. There's an excellent Photography guide on Amazon which not only gives locations but the coordinates for car parking and clear instructions on how to find the location You'll find it at www.amazon.co.uk/Photographers-Guide-Scotland-Skye-Trossachs/dp/0992683440?pd_rd_w=HMNU8&content-id=amzn1.sym.f7467199-2e57-4b30-9bb1-e90579eb72b9&pf_rd_p=f7467199-2e57-4b30-9bb1-e90579eb72b9&pf_rd_r=XDGVR0TSRNGDREFVK57X&pd_rd_wg=DL0U4&pd_rd_r=4fc18315-2276-4c3f-84f7-fdf2ee942187&pd_rd_i=0992683440&psc=1&ref_=pd_basp_d_rpt_ba_s_3_t October sounds really good, perhaps the last two weeks to be guaranteed some colour. There is a chap on TH-cam from the UK...Paul Compton Photography who takes small groups on workshops Stewart he may be able to assist you.
Thank you for taking the time to write back with some excellent insight. I will definitely reach out to Paul. BTW- I was in Ireland many many moons ago and fell in love with your country. All the best.

beautiful shots my fried,nice video
Thank you for your kind words Alan and thanks for watching!
Fantastic vlog Damien you captured some beautiful images in Glencoe and at Fort William of the Old boat of Caol at Corpach
Many thanks as always, thanks for watching!
Some lovely shots there from a stunning part of Scotland. That wee white cottage under the Buachaill is called Lagangarbh and is one of the three classic honeypot cottage shots in Glencoe; Blackrock (near Ski Centre) and another one by the head of Loch Aitrochan, near the turnoff for Clachaig. I liked your B&W of the Caol shipwreck. BTW , I agree with your analysis of the river and the shipwreck. Looking forward to your next videos in this series.
Thanks very much for the information wadirunner, I had heard of the Lagangarbh cottage but didn't associate this one with it, I thought it was out the opposite side of Glencoe ( My geography needs work!) Thanks so much for watching and your kind comments
Super camera work and editing Damien!!
Thanks very much paul, appreciated!
NIce work Damien. Also very timely, since I'll be visiting Glencoe, Skye, and surrounding areas for a few weeks in October.
Thanks for watching and your kind words Warrick, lucky you I'll definitely be going back! If I can help at all on locations (even though I've only been once) I'm happy to help, just contact me at damien@djackson-images.com . Enjoy the trip!
Fantastic Damien. Reminds me of my visit to these locations. here was not much water flowing in the small river in front of the small boat on my visit. Looking forward to your Eilean Donan visit.
Many thanks Jim, much appreciated, I have a friend who was there last summer (mix of family and photo holiday) and most of the locations were down to a trickle of water.. I was was very lucky with conditions!
Good job Damien, I was there in early April seemed to be following your footsteps. Thanks for posting the video.
Thanks very much for watching David,....how did your trip go?
@@damienjackson7174 yeah my trip went really well lots of changeable weather which turned out pretty good. Only one day was a wash out. Really enjoyed it but would like to get a second crack at it.

Wow Damien, I love your vlogs. you got some fantastic shots, and the icing on the cake, the northern lights, you also got some amazing light on the trip, delighted for you, can't wait for part 2. 👏👏
Ah thanks a million Patsy, very kind of you. Yep we were really blessed with weather although mid week it nearly got too good with clear skies for a day! Thanks for watching!
Nice video, I'm looking forward to the next. Great job.
Thanks very much for watching and for your kind comment!
You got some great light and images Damien funnily enough I really liked the Castle Stalker shot due to it clearly being your subject but the sky was really imposing too. The Buachaille Etive Mor square crop was great too but I’m going for the evening shot of it because I really liked the flow in that one. Good luck for the rest of the trip, you’re probably home now but I bet it was great.
Thank you very much carl, appreciated that! I have to say when I saw Castle Stalker on the PC I much preferred it to the back of the camera! Home now, it was a fabulous trip should get a couple more videos from it. Thanks for watching Carl!
Lovely work D. You were blessed with the light and took full advantage of it. Super images! Northern Lights were a wonderful icing on the cake. Looking forward to part 2!
Thanks very much Aldo...lucky the word of the week! Thanks for watching!
Beautiful job there Damien. You were blessed with the light. Envious doesn't quite cover it. Some day.
Thanks very much Brendan, we had a great week of it...think I said on the video at Kilchurn I could have been there 10 times and not got the same ideal conditions! Good thing is it's only across the water, easy to access! Appreciate your kind comments!
Great images and video, Damien! I first came across your channel when I was planning my first trip to Ireland in 2022, and found it very useful. And I now come across your new Scottish series while planning my first trip to Scotland in October!!
