  • Another throwing power circuit session, demonstrated by 2016 New Balance and USATF Jr Olympic champ Liam Christiansen: 70.80m/232ft 1in @ 17 yrs w/ 800gm Main focus of this circuit is lots of reps working on chest/belly "bow" and how it accelerates the shoulders/arms into throws/lifts or strikes. Develops solid delivery positions and balance while building specific power.

    wouldnt the 1:24 exercise be better done with DBs? With DBs the elbows/arms would beiomechanically same as in throwing.

      He is a young athlete with little weight room experience- the pull over w/ 2 hands gives him a similar feel as with med ball throws and we are working for core/chest power. 1 arm actions with plates or dumbells are too advanced for him, and even with more experienced athletes I rather would throw heavy (1.5-2k) balls than use any weights.... lifts are too slow for the power I like developed.
