I like Tebogo and Knighton more than Lyles but I still think Lyles wins it. Anything can happen on race day but Noah’s consistency is arguably his best attribute.
Like you said, he’s undefeated over 200m since Tokyo and his AVERAGE time during that period is 19.70. I don’t think many people understand just how ridiculous that is.
Totally correct . Degrass won't even get close to at least 3,4 runners in Paris : Lyles , Bednarek , Tebogo , Knighton
He is older hence we have stats to back him. But his chances are lower this season. In both 100 n 200
@@ashleymusihiwaHonestly speaking, I wouldn't find it a huge shock if he doesn't make the 100 podium. The 200 is his for the taking, although Tebogo could challenge him. If he doesn't get the gold this time though, I think it will really really hurt him bad.
I like Tebogo and hope he at least drops a banger time but want Lyles to win. And yea, most don't understand how insane an average of 19.7 is. Honestly most 200m runners would be very happy with one 19.7 in a calendar year, the guys consistency is bonkers!!
He will win almost 100%. I’m almost convinced Bednarek will come second as well, his US trials really impressed me. Personally I think Tobogo will come 3rd due to Knighton’s temporary ban.
Andre is the 🇨🇦 🐐. We are all so proud of him. He’s been a gamer on the world stage since 2015. He’s definitely an elder statesman of the current generation of sprinters. As much as I love Andre, Lyles is looking really good for the 200m same with Tebogo.
You are right to be proud, he’s been a class act for a long time. I wish he was English haha.
Donovan Bailey is Canadian goat. He has more gold medal in olympics and world championships. And was the fastest man on the planet a title de grass cannot even come close to. He was world record holder in 100 m. Infact de grass is still behind in 100 m as his best is 9.89 which is less than 9.84.
@@giteausuperstarwhat do you mean you wish he was English tf
@@SunilSingh-eo4blwe don’t care
Oh yes, we care
Tebogo is getting a medal in Paris
Nah he’ll make both finals tho
Tebogo could get 3rd in 100m and 2nd in 200m but he can also run the 400 if he really wants a gold medal
@@TobyFromGT he will Pb in the 200m
@@TobyFromGT fair placements but Tebogo could shock the world in the 200, as far as the 100 he gonna have to pull 9.7 out his ass to assure a win
Tebogo is being disrespected. The guy got second last year and he could be getting better. Can tebogo best lyles? Maybe
Can he beat omylana? Yes.
Do not count out tebogo
Degrasse has a knack for coming in clutch for the finals and setting a pb. I definitely would NOT count him out.
I don't just not count him out, I always consider him a serious threat at any major championship for the 200m and the 4 by 1 relay. He's shown for some fair amount of time that he's THE clutch guy. Running down Gatlin in the relay, upstaging Lyles with easily his best 200 ever are almost enough for me to hold that view unless he gets injured.
200m in 2021 was slow compared to almost every diamond league meeting with Lyles, Tobogo, Knighton, Bednarek. He’s an incredible athlete but he got lucky that year just like all the world champions did in 2017,2019. 200m has been slow for some time until Lyles has turned up the wick.
Not just degrasse either him and the Canadian relay team, always seem to just come in clutch when it matters the most
@@all-caps3927 You can remove Bednarek off that list if you're considering pre-2024, he's more or less equal to De Grasse at best. If we're talking 2023 and before, he did sub 19.7 once and sub 19.8 once and that's it. He's good yes but only gotten to very very good recently with breaking 19.6. And I hope you're referring to the rest of the 2021 season besides the Olympics final when you say it was slow. 19.62 would have won all Diamond league 200m races from 2020 besides the London 2023, Monaco 2022, Lausanne 2022, Zurich 2022, Eugene 2021, Zurich 2021 out of a total of 22 races, majority of which were won by Noah Lyles himself.
@@alansamuel2454 so just because Bednarek has got good recently we can remove him off the list? That’s one of the worst points I’ve ever heard.
By that logic, let’s get rid of Kishane Thompson for the 100m, let’s get rid of Letsile Tobogo because he only got a silver LAST year. Let’s get rid of Oblique Seville’s PB. See how silly that sounds?
And an Olympic final being slower than ANY diamond league meeting instantly means it’s slow in my eyes. 19.62 is not even impressive in 2023/2024. Back in 2012,2008 those 200m finals were faster than every single meet and world championship (2016 being an exception because it was a slow Olympics).
All Ima say is we didn't anticipate Jacobs to win the 100m, who knows who'll win this year
That's the fun part of the Olympics !
Jacobs is in better form heading into Paris than he was Tokyo. (9.91 vs 9.99)
Jacobs ain't making the finals in the 100m
Jacobs doesn't meet up with the heat this year
Knighton bronze. American sweep
thing to note about that 2021 Olympic final is Lyles started struggling in the last 40-50m and lost momentum and that is something we havent seen since, now he is still running full speed when he crosses the line, De Grasse is a great runner but barring any unforseen circumstances im picking Lyles for the win and Tebogo for a very very close 2nd, 3rd will be fought over by 3 or 4 others, either way i cant wait to watch it all in real time as Paris is only 1hr ahead of me over the channel
Lyles was struggling because he came out of lane 3, he hasn't got that lane since
I think 2nd will be a fight between Bednarek and Tobogo, I really don’t think anyone else besides maybe Knighton is up to scratch to compete with the other 3. Knighton would be right there but he got banned at the start of the year so he’s had little track time.
1. Lyles
2. Bednarek
3. Tobogo
Imo
World's best seeking 19.5 and Bolt resting comfortable on his 19.19 WR
I get your point but you do have to contend that at least we've reached the proximity where it can at least be discussed. The 100 is far far far away and anyone who tries bring up that discussion are either ignorant or delusional.
Even though Lyles ran 19.31 not that long ago? Do you even watch sprinting?

I think Degrasse makes the 200m Final.... If I was guess his placement?? I'd say anywhere from 3rd to 5th. That is unless he unleashes a crazy PB ?? But 3rd to 5th seems about right to me.
He will be lucky to make the final. That’s it.
@@barrycook8116yes you are correct
@@barrycook8116 lol... that's what you said in Tokyo.🤣🤣🤣 How'd that work out for ya??
He'll make the final easy, medalling will be a different story. But I'll never bet against Degrasse... Dude is clutch if he's healthy.
@@willstuart4504People really must hate the guy or be delusional to make such a bold statement that he Won't, not even that he might not make the final.
He won't medal....19.98 this close to the Olympics isn't a good enough form.
Tebogo is just such a beautifully smooth runner to watch. Pulling for him.
These Olympic Games are so stacked,I actually can’t wait to see who wins in which events.
Every olympics I have low expectations for De Grasse and so far every olympics he has surprises me. The field has gotten a lot faster though since 2021 so it will be hard to get top 3.
I’m calling it right now, Paris podium gonna be the as Tokyo but reversed. Andre getting bronze and Lyles will prolly get gold.
That would be so rare in my opinion, tho.
That’s a respectable prediction
Degrasse will not come close to getting a medals in the 200m.
That's if knighton and tebogo don't make it to the podium
Do you think Kenny will still medal? I have Tobogo getting bronze.
I don’t see Andre making the podium. Tebogo is a threat for sure.

@@alexsolo4085 yeah its def not 2021 and there are multiple new kids on the block. Ask yourself why noah went quiet with his anime and yu-gi-oh shit because he realised shit is getting real and he's not as fast as he thinks he is. He's not even top 3 for the 100m and he's already running his PERSONAL BEST. Clearly Noah can only do so much. He reached his peak with that american record and I don't see him going faster again because that was already very difficult for him to do. He really had to summon everything he had for that. His best days are behind him. I know it's a very bitter pill for you to swallow, but it is what it is and I hope you can find closure in that.

Lemmino music omg I got chills
Thank you for this video man, De Grasse is very dangerous when he's healthy. Since Tokyo he has battled consistent injuries until the end of last season. Andre is 100 percent this season and will definitely peak in Paris. Lyle's is unbeatable unless he messes up so I put him in Gold medal position. The dogfight for silver and bronze is between 4 other men with De Grasse definitely in the Mix.. can't wait to see how it all goes down. You rock with the best sprinting content on YT so thank you 👍
I think it'll be Lyles and Bednarek with either Knighton and Tebogo.
I love me some De Grasse, I'd love to see him podium, and at this point even a final would be sick, but those other 4 are just unreal.
Difference between 2021 and 2024 is that Lyles is 0.3-0.4 seconds faster now in the 200m, on average. Some wild predictions: Lyles will probably smoke the field, maybe sub 19.3. Tebogo could get silver at 19.43, then it’s anyone’s race for bronze. Bednarek, De Grasse, Knighton, it could be anyone. I predict a 19.59 bronze time.
"sub 19.3."
Lay off the pipe.
😂😂😂 winning? Yes. sub 19.30 yeah right. If he was not running the 100 I could believe it but not with him doing the double.
That time is well beyond DeGrasse.
Well I did say it’s a ‘wild’ prediction. But I think we will get something special in the 200 this year. Lyles is poised to beat his pb of 19.31. If conditions are good, I think it will happen.
@@JohnnyBrook fair points.
DeGrasse is unbelievable for his age. Noah has threats from everywhere. Most stacked field in history
Pity he got injured taking his best years away from him.
Degrasse has zero chance of beating Noah in this race, ain’t happening. No one is beating him.
When Lyles said he was going for three Olympic gold medals, he meant it. Also, the 200m is his wife.
He’s going after 4. The 100, 200, 4x100 and 4x400.
@@dave929The chances of this happening are all dependent on what the US team decides. If they want him to get 4 golds and the 400m runners step aside (I don't know to what degree they would even have a choice) he's got a decent chance to get it. The only thing hanging then is the 100 which he will not find as easy to win gold like the 200. Oh and of course, the 4 by 1 relay should be won by team USA if you go with conventional logic, but there's always the chance you can fumble the exchange so that's that as well.
@@alansamuel2454 Noah was hyping himself and said if he COULD sweep all four that would ‘put me on Mount Rushmore’ (of track and field).
@@dave929 And I'd disagree with that even if succeeds. What about you? He needs to have a pretty good showing at 2028 Los Angeles after he sweeps the four at 2024 and then I'd concede he deserves to be on Mount Rushmore. I love, respect and salute consistency but then Asafa Powell would be arguably at least the 3rd best 100m sprinter ever and frankly speaking, he's not. Lyles is the most consistent in times but yet has to win an Olympics gold in the 200m. And that really matters when you put into account how insanely competitive the previous generation with Bolt, Blake, Gatlin, Gay, Xavier Carter, Walter Dix, Spearmon was in the 200m.
As much as we talk about the current 200m greats being insanely good, Tebogo and Bednarek have only really improved to that upper echelon of greatness post the 2020 Olympics. And Erriyon's always shown promise but look across all the performances he's had and at best you can put him at par with Spearmon and that's still being generous. So Lyles not having a gold in his primary event in my opinion is frankly enough to warrant that even if he gets gold in the 4 events he ain't on Mount Rushmore. I'd say Bolt, Blake for being Bolt and Blake lol, Gatlin for his insane longevity and perhaps Gay for being also one of the most consistent in both times as well as medals are on it.
Anyone can argue with this, I don't mind but I stick with what I said, Lyles will need the 4 medals at Paris and also a good showing at Los Angeles to make it better than any of these four.
@@alansamuel2454 He also needs to set new world records in each event. Someone claimed Team USA is going to run 36.50 in the relay. Seriously? Again, all about hype.
No one has to my knowledge pointed out that Noah Lyles made a strategic error in the semi finals of his Olympic 200 meter race in 2021 in that he dramatically shut down just before the finish line which allowed one or two athletes to pass him at the last instant thus forcing him to sweat it out to see if he would qualify on time. After he made the error I predicted that he would end up in one of the two innermost lanes which would force him to run a tighter curve and cause him to have to work harder which ended up happening. I predicted at that time that he would be lucky to get a bronze out of such circumstances. You have not had to worry about him shutting down too early since that particular incident.
Tebogo is a dark horse. He's the only one who can run down Lyle.
Noah is the favorite to win the 200 m final now is stronger more experience now than the previous Olympic that’s why I think it is the favorite to win the 200 m final🥇 final
Man I miss Fahnbulleh! I seen he won the African championships in the 200! If he gets in the Final and have that better start we’ve been saying for years (even tho he’s only 22 lol) he has a great chance! Then add Tebogo and everyone else, someone very good is gonna miss the Finals and a couple top 200m sprinters won’t medal. I’m excited tho, let’s get it!!!

Honestly the 200s going to be absolutely bonkers (assuming all the heavy hitters make it to finals), here’s the way it could go:
1st: Tebogo/Lyles: 19.4x (a lot of rounds in 100 and 200 for both
2nd: Kenny or knighton for second depends on how knighton looks during opening rounds
3rd: probably degrasse or Courtney Lindsey

He was the favorite last time, he is the favorite again this time, but any of 4 can win. Hope Noah don’t go crazy if he loses again
Highly doubt at his age and fitness level DeGrasse will have anything for Noah this time around, but I'll be pulling for him.
You would think this is his last Olympics to win a medal, realistically .He will be primed.

So many great sprinters to tell. 19:6 at least.
my bet is
Gold: 19.5
Silver: 19.55-19.59
Bronze: 19.61
The times this year have been super close but I just don't think they've been fast enough to outrun the 19.5 barrier. at fastest I'd say possibly a 19.45. Noah is super promising but he's rarely come close to 19.31 so I don't see that happening.
if it's the same conditions as 2022, world record threat, anything else then it's probably what you said. idk he hasn't put that day together yet but we'll see hopefully. It would be better for him in the 200 if he didn't do the 100 rounds cause then he wouldn't as be fatigued and could put an amazing time vs a solid time
@@lol-gb5vt if we had the same conditions from Lyles' 19.31 id say he just might beat that. But I don't think it's super likely. I'd be happy to see him run under 19.4 tho.

That is way too high. Only Noah and knighton have done that and knighton barely did it once. On top of that only tebogo and bednarek have broken 19.6 and Kenny barely did that once as well. There's not gonna be 4 or even 3 athletes in the 19.4x range. That's still an extremely elite time

Anyone got an idea about the stadium records in Paris & or any improvements they have made to the track in preparation for the Olympics?
There's no point in us speculating about sub-19.50 if nobody has gone under 19.90 in that stadium on that track.
On a fast track like in Oregon we know that Lyles could be hunting down Bollts record if he gets the right weather, & he will take others along with him under 19.50, but what do we know about the Paris stadium & track?
Tebogo, Lyles and bednarek to fight it out for gold. Anyone of them can win, with de Grasse an outsider. Roy b, CapeTown south africa 🇿🇦
Lyles, DeGrasse, Tebogo, Bednarek in a photo finish. I don't know how I would determine the order. (If everyone is in top form) (Maybe, "whoever's in lane 8".)
If everyone is in top form then DeGrasse runs a 19.7 and Lyles runs a 19.3 😂
Degrasse won’t place and be lucky to make the final.
Always enjoy the content here but with all due respect to Degrasse, he will be hard pressed to get 5th. It will be Lyles, Tebago, Kung Fu Kenny, Knighton, then maybe Andre. IMO which means absolutely nothing haha. These guys are making this distance guy care about sprints. Can’t wait for Paris.
Same dude, the men's 200 and the hurdles for men and women are absolutely insane right now. A few years back it was the 400m which is just alright now. I'm also into distance haha and just love what these guys are shaping the 200 into.
He will win again in a month, waiting for odds on the race
If nothing crazy happens in the heats and semis, for the final, I say Noah gets the eff out with his 2024 100m speed, but redlines the hell out of it, and tightens up to the point where his butt cheeks are all up in his neck. Andre gets out solid but has some work to do off the corner, stays calm and collected and comes up in the last 20m of that 200m (disclaimer…I’m biased AF in favour of Andre). Letsile…if he’s focused and ready…that might be something special. And Erriyon should go vegan.
Kenny B is in great shape, don't count him out
Andre Degrasse has ran 19.98 in hungary the same meet he ran 19.97 during 2021 OLY year so this shows me ge in shape for 19.6/19.5 so i just dont think 19.6 wont make the podium

He did, actually choked big time.
But after 2021, not anymore. Cuz this Year in Paris Olympics, Noah Lyles is going to run 19.3s in the 200m Semifinal and then 18.6s-18.7s (New WR) in the 200m Final for the win.

De grasse is THE clutch olympic performer but he just isn't in the kind of shape that is required to medal. Bednarek is so solid.
I can see De Grasse going sub 19.6, but I still don't see him on the podium. I can't see him being in front of Noah or Kenny, who have both been looking really good all season and I would expect Letsile and Erriyon to be ahead of him, although I'm not as convinced by either of them at the moment.

Lyles to win with 2-4 being Tebogo, Bednarek, Knighton in what order im not sure. Zharnel Hughes 5th, who knows with the Jamaicans but De Grasse should make the final
Tebogo, Bednarek, Knighton and Lyles ought to do better if at 100%! But we don't live in a PERFECT WORLD! So while Degrasse is sort of up to his neck in Gators, he still has a chance to win if these Top 4 competitors slip up or can't go 99 or 100%! So as a Canadian rooting for him, yes, he doesn't look like a top favorite but he certainly is a DARK HORSE! In fact it looked just like that at the last Olympics 200m Finals! If Noah Lyles and the others get TIGHT ...Andre can sneak in for #1 again! As for time, I think 19.65 will win it.
Rooting for Degrasse or Tebogo for 🥇
@@Tanniab09 Like you, I would like to see either of those 2 win!
These bots are getting outta hand.

What bots?
Never count Andre out!
Lyles will win this Olympic games
JESUS CHRIST LOVES YOU HAVE A BLESSED DAY YALL I LOVE YALL ALL GLORY TO YAHWEH MAY PEACE AND LOVE BE WITH YALL IN JESUS NAME AMEN
Can I get the email address for YAHWEH?
De Grasse's 2021 gold was a highlight of Tokyo for me. Chances are low this year. Anyone but Noah would be awesome.
Agreed. I actually skip his events because his antics and arrogance nauseate me
Noah Lyles will get the gold in the 100m and the 200m 😊😊
Noah Lyles is much stronger and his result is very stable. I believe that he will have higher hcance for Gold
Andre always medals 3 times at the Olympic games.
Lyles will get first..19.45 . Kung Fu Kenny second...19.60 Knighton 3rd at 19.7
@aaronscollectinganddetecti3018
Exactly I have Knighton at 19.6 also
19.7 aint getting a podium spot. Tebogo has way better showing than knighton. Hes actually a gold medal threat, his 300m record shows he has more strength and endurance than anyone on the field just needs a little more speed. When lsst have you seen snyone close down a 2meter lead by lyles to 2cm?
@@datname1939People are sleeping on Tebogo's strength big time. Besides the 300m WB, he's in the top 75 ever for the 400m with a 44.29. That's coming from a guy training for the shorter sprints. Only a couple of 200 m focused guys have run that fast. Out of all under major 200 runners under 19.8 only Gay, Bednarek and Xavier have run sub 45 in the 400. 44.29 is a time that honestly would likely be sufficient to medal at the Paris Games.
So Knighton is good yes, but he's just got a PB that's slightly better done years back. He has turned up at the Trials with a pretty good showing considering he's hardly ran this year but yea I'd choose Tebogo over Knighton at least for Paris.
Whoever is fastest will win.
All the pressure is on Lyles. He's said he wants 4 golds. First up is the 100m and he's got some serious competition in that event. If he doesn't win it I wonder how much it will affect him going into the 200m knowing what happened in Tokyo. If he wins the 100 I can't see him losing the 200 but I think Thompson will win the 100
idk about Lyles. He'd have to repeat the double he did last year and get kind of lucky with the relay teams too
@@lol-gb5vtthere is no luck with the US relay ....he is on the anchor leg of the fastest quartet there is 😅
@@BlueHopi144Lol they might drop the baton...it's the US haha 😂. But jokes aside, Im rooting for them and want them to run a fast time.
@@alansamuel2454 they seem to have cleaned that silly mistake on the last 3 championships .
@@BlueHopi144 True true. I'm not saying this about the Paris team, but in my opinion one of the reasons Team USA loses occasionally is cause their depth is so insane they experiment by adding new guys to the team, then don't sufficiently get chemistry and then mess it up. But yes, I don't think they'll miss the gold if all 4 perform relatively well at least. Or Jamaica/Canada have to have perfect exchanges and each athlete has to run the best race of their life.
