F-35B Lightning II aircraft at Andersen Air Force Base, Guam will arrive in Philippines for Defence Exercise (MASA 24)
F-35B squadron based out of Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan, traveled to Philippines as a part of (MASA 24) with Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 214, 3rd MAW, before a littoral live-fire exercise off the coast of Ilocos Norte and Zambales during Marine Aviation Support Activity 24 on Clark Air Base, Philippines
The F-35B Lightning II is a fifth-generation fighter, which is the world’s first operational supersonic short takeoff and vertical landing (STOVL) aircraft. The F-35B brings strategic agility, operational flexibility and tactical supremacy to the Pacific with a mission radius greater than that of the F/A-18 Hornet and AV-8B Harrier II.
The exercise highlighted the Armed Forces of the Philippines and U.S. military’s longstanding relationship as friends, partners, and allies and their ability to contribute to security and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
This exercise increased overall U.S. and Philippine readiness and cooperation, allowing both forces to plan, coordinate, and train together to prepare for potential real world events.
The Marine Corps conducts the essential training needed to accomplish their assigned mission, including the training and operations required to be ready to defend the Pacific region as necessary.

Amazing pieces of technology. We are definitely years ahead of the competition. The fit and finish of these aircraft look so refined. Everyone likes to make fun of the F35 crashing, but people don't realize that the military and manufacturers learn from this and improve their equipment and training throughout the aircraft's lifecycle. That's why we still have the F16, F15, and F18 still out and about in their latest block iterations.
