    It’s all coming together nicely! I managed to get my OH interested in you Episode 15’s yesterday and it’s made the 12v and 240v set up much clearer-thank you. Fingers crossed we’re collecting our van tomorrow 🤞🏻so we can make a start on it.

      Hey Nicci 👍 Ah cool… There seem to be quite a few options on the electrics… the other things I would consider if doing it again would be a company called Rayne Automotive that offer a complete fully wired solution based on your layout or also a fully contained unit by a company called Sergent…
      Also I think mine could have been a lot tidier too 🤣
      But we actually in the van right now on our first stop over!! On hook up and all working as planned so can’t grumble!
      Great news on the van pick up tomorrow and good luck getting started! Drop me a comment if there is anything at all I can share from what I’ve done then no worries at at #vanlife 👍

    Hi pal … I bought the same one but from alpine campers. It is actually an alpicool fridge. If you get the alpicool app for your mobile you can choose setting etc on the phone.

    It may be a good idea to add ventilation for your fridge by cutting away part of the left sidewall of the cabinet and adding screen.

    What’s size cable did you use to wire all your lights and fridge ect ?

    • @TransitCustomCamper

      It think from memory it was mostly 14 AWG gauge.. but usually the appliances etc have a rating that is suggested also so worth checking 👍

    I know you put this vid up quite a while ago but looking at that fridge it looks like the freezer compartment is about half of the fridge. Is it not too big ??

      Being honest… not really used the freezer part too much 😂 So maybe yeah.. freezer to fridge ratio not the best 👍 it’s been great though.. no issues, pretty good on usage etc.. keeps the beers cool 👌

      Hi thanks for checking out the video 👍 Yes you right with it in this position it’s not possible to open wide enough to remove the freezer section 😢 We have left it in as we have used it to keep the beers extra cold 🥶 👍

    Hey Dave, nice video. Have the same kitchen setup and fridge. How do you screw in the fridge to the furniture? Just fitted mine but because the wooden wall are a bit a far I'm scratching my head how am I gonna screw it in?

    • @TransitCustomCamper
      @TransitCustomCamper  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! Yes you right.. what I did (rightly or wrongly) in the end was screw through the two little plastic feet of the fridge onto the floor.. it’s stable enough I feel and not had and issues so far after about 12 months or so.. the other option might be to pack out the inside or cupboard and then screw into that from the Fridge 👍

      @@TransitCustomCamper thank you. That's an option for sure.. I've seen other videos of yours regarding the fridge. So you connected the fridge straight to the switch panel and then it's goes to the fuse box fridge, Tap/ pump, led lights too. What size of fuse did you use to feed the S.panel to the fuse box?

      @TransitCustomCamper  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ah cool… sorry pardon the pun 😃 We left the freezer compartment in ours and have to be honest I think the settings I put on the video is how I left it… Again being honest not used it much only a couple of times since the install… There is a separate setting for freezer section as I recall so might be worth increasing that maybe? To try and sort the frozen food? Thanks again for kind comments and checking out the content! Massively appreciated 👍

    keep a eye out for the wires at the back because it looked like you connected thick wires from the fridge to thin wires at the back witch can overheat and burn out............

    • @TransitCustomCamper
      @TransitCustomCamper  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Birdie - thanks for the comment! I will double check the AWG rating for the fridge wire again against the wiring I had in place and the distance. I did check before fitting but the last thing I want is a fire risk! If I find any issues I’ll also make sure I edit or add a correction too. Thanks again for pointing it out, very much appreciated 👍

      Hey! Hrmm not too sure.. You can set the temp of the fridge and also separate for the freezing area.. have you checked that? If still not getting cold then might need to contact the supplier.. ours gets cold pretty quick usually within 30 mins when ambient temperature is fairly cool anyway..

    Just bought this fridge and instructions say it needs to run straight from a leisure battery rather than the inverter, you know if this is right? or how you did it?

    • @TransitCustomCamper
      @TransitCustomCamper  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The model I have is 12v only so wouldn’t need to be run though an inverter assuming you wanting to do that to run from 230v? Mine runs direct on the 12v system.. but when I am on hook up I also have a battery charger also so can run the fridge and also keep the leisure battery topped up 👍

    New questions for you i just brought the sanjo 85 litre..how long is the wire to connect to battery roughly...what size wire do you recommend if the wire doesn't reach the batteries awg..and i will be installing a in-line fuse holder looked up there saying 20amp fuse???.

    • @TransitCustomCamper
      @TransitCustomCamper  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey - I am not 100% sure on the Sanjo model to be honest. I know for the JK50 there was a specified max distance of about 2 metres I think. On the AWG I would check what the thickness is on the original and look to match or uprate it… Also on the inline fuse I’d use what is suggested so if they say 20amp I would do that 👍 Sorry I couldn’t be more specific but also don’t want to give any advice that could cause an issue for you ⚡️

      @TransitCustomCamper thanks for the info..i was talking with a lad who was installing wiring in a microwave in my companies truck..he gave me 10mm single core wire which he was using on the microwave...and said i would need a 40amp fuse.

    Fantastic video Dave. I just start binge your conversion videos. I'm currently doing my own conversion and about to buying a fridge. I was wondering if after 4 months, would you still recommend this one, compared to the Dometic CRE50 which is about £100 more

      Hey Rory! Thanks for the message and checking out the videos 👍 my wife always wonders how people could binge watch my videos 😂 So yes been really happy with the Fridge.. no issues, runs pretty quiet, get to temp quickly and efficient on the battery too.. I don’t have a direct personal comparison with the Dometic as just not used a dometic myself.. But personally I think it’s a really good unit at £100 less.. I think also they might be on offer atm? Hello Dave, Merry Christmas to you and your family. Could you please explain how you fitted the fridge? Did you drill through the sides as indicated in the instructions. Seems like a rather odd method of fitting and I don't want to break the fridge.

    • @TransitCustomCamper
      @TransitCustomCamper  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Daryl! Thanks for the Christmas wishes - same to you too 🎄 yes that is what I did as there were screw points in the fridge that I think/hope are designed specifically for that fixing 👍 the info with the fridge indicated that too. I don’t know if there are alternative methods? I might take a look for my next build 😀

After that I rekon comes on a couple of times as hour maybe?! It’s difficult to say for sure as the main test was the beer being at the right temperature 😄 Also I haven’t used it running just off the leisure battery..
