    So does this fridge not run on 240v? Just 12v? Assume you can use the 240v you installed for the fridge for something else or convert to a single socket?

      @@tonywhyte hi 👋 no it’s just 12v only and yes I used the wire to put in an extra 240v socket on the side of the cupboard which is quite handy

      No I never got round to it tbh! I got a different and small blind that would fit and I think the overall process would be the same.. Let me know how you get on if you try it 👍

      I think if we were using more as a camper all the time then yes. But we mainly use it as a day van and also have an awning too so have not really felt we needed a pop top 👍

    I know you put this vid up quite a while ago but looking at that fridge it looks like the freezer compartment is about half of the fridge. Is it not too big ??

      Being honest… not really used the freezer part too much 😂 So maybe yeah.. freezer to fridge ratio not the best 👍 it’s been great though.. no issues, pretty good on usage etc.. keeps the beers cool 👌

    Hi bud , just looking into doing my custom. Just a bit confused about top rear side panels ones next to windows. Theres no holes for clips for plywood. Was wondering how do you fix the ply on. Buy brackets or clips?

    Hi pal … I bought the same one but from alpine campers. It is actually an alpicool fridge. If you get the alpicool app for your mobile you can choose setting etc on the phone.

    hey! Thank you for sharing. How is this combination of insulation materials working out for you? I'm keen to establish a proven alternative to the commonly recomended PIR board with gap + vapour barrier because of the space it uses up

      Yes it’s been good - no issues at all and keeps the van pretty warm/cool as needed 👍

    Switched 240v sockets must be double pole, or you can use unswitched sockets. Metal sockets also need an additional "fly lead" earth

      I actually left it in the end! I saw some people filled with foam or cut a piece of play and then carpet lined that might do the job 👍

      Thanks for the comment and checking out the videos! How much time for the sink or the whole van? It’s hard to tell really.. whole think was about 7 weeks at weekends and evenings but as was filing etc took longer! I think this sink took a day too.. was good fun though 👍

      The latch actually doesn’t work! The doors are very snug with the t trim so never actually needed the latch!

    Appreciate this is an old video how do you know if you have a smart alternator?

      Hi - yes I do.. generally majority of customs from 2013 and 2014 onwards had the smart alternator. You can test with a voltmeter on the battery at start up and then a bit after and voltage should change 👍

    Hey mate hope you see this, fitted one a week back and noticed it’s constantly running and drains my battery fast (130amp) did you leave yours on one line for energy efficiency? From reading the booklet it seems 3 would be better

      Yes mate.. too brittle! Got caught on a speed bump after a few weeks and snapped! I have switched out for a TCR style splitter now which is not as low and more flexible for UK roads!

    I think I used 14 sheets for my LWB Transit Custom, I had the top panels like yours but cut down the sheets for the lower panels with half sheets and smaller squares. It's easy to hear where they are needed compared to where they aren't. So that leaves the question if they aren't need why use all the extra sheeting when it only adds weight to the build.

    Hi Dave. I've really enjoyed your series. It's given me a lot of inspiration to do my own build. I think you've probably spent a lot more than you realise. Firstly, I couldn't find any mention of the price you paid for the window units and professional fitting. I think you have also forgot a whole heap of sundry items. Table things, rear view camera, mains electrics?, screws & fixings, tv and bracket.....I reckon you have to be much nearer to £4k.

    Not sure why you made a whole cupboard ford the electric massive waste of space

      Hey.. thanks for checking out the video and the feedback. What did you do on your build? It was my first attempt so be great to get your view? We can still use the cupboard & have since put in a shelf and a partition and a rail also.. so it’s not too bad 😅

    The instrutions actually say to just set the refrigerator temp when using all the space. Ie freezer compartment taken out. And use the freezer setting for the hoke fridge when freezer compartment installed. That said my fridge still freezes following these rules. Annoying.

    Any advice please, fridge comnected, lights on but its not getting cool at all and it's been on for hours. Thank you

      Hey! Hrmm not too sure.. You can set the temp of the fridge and also separate for the freezing area.. have you checked that? If still not getting cold then might need to contact the supplier.. ours gets cold pretty quick usually within 30 mins when ambient temperature is fairly cool anyway..
