Loved the bike stand idea. Using your ides a will use fabric straps hanging from 2 suitably placed and unused hooks in my garage ceiling. You just saved me buying a maintenance stand👍. I will also be using your ideas to orotect my new Brommie. Thanks very much.
What a great idea to use an old inner tube as a work stand! I’m sure there would be times when it just wouldn’t be firm enough, especially for two handed jobs, but as a makeshift stand, back-saver and effectively an extra pair of hands it’s beautifully simple! I’ve been using old inner tube off-cuts as mounting bases for assorted handlebar attachments for years, they’re more compressible than the factory-supplied bases allowing for better fitting and have the added bonus of dampening vibrations, plus as you say, they’re a cheap and environmentally more friendly option than just binning them and buying yet more mounting cushions... Somewhere in the back of a drawer round here there is still a set of natty braces my dad made himself out of old inner tubes 😉😁 Great practical hacks! 🙌
Thanks Amanda. Yes I think it will be really useful for those times when you need both wheels off the ground and defiantly going to be using it when giving it a deep clean along other things. Yes they are great for mounting things like bike locks and lights etc too 😀 braces sounds pretty good 😀👍
hi, I have an issue with my rear wheel I had a puncture I mended this and pump up the tire to the required 100psi when I spun the back wheel it would stop after 3 revolutions it seems the wheel wont spin freely unless I reduce the psi to just below 60. I cant see any apparent reason why this is happening. Any thoughts on this matter would be appreciated.
I would look to see if it is seated in the brackets properly. Take it off and put it back on and that might help as sounds like it might not have been put back on properly?
Those are the ones that are on the B75's I think? Also on the Chapter 3 models and those without mudguards? Thought about that as the fixings are all there for them so if this turns out to not work after a few weeks will look at ordering one of those. Thanks for the suggestion though and definitely worth bearing in mind 😀 👍
7 useful Brompton upgrades, accessories th-cam.com/video/Hnyc88UBT0Q/w-d-xo.html Try the cable tie one to see how you get on to start if you like. We used it for a few weeks and then got the leather one which works really well
These are sensible mods to the bike which actually look quite smart. Unfortunately, my paintwork is wearing out faster than my inner tube(s). What I have been doing inbetween times, is to wrap something soft and slightly fluffy around the cables to hold them off at the wear points. I have been using cheapo velcro type cable ties, after the manner of "baggywrinkle" on traditional sailing craft. They slide along the cables a bit too easily, but are better than nothing.
Was quite shocked at the fork to be honest. That has been recent as normally replace the tape every couple of weeks but been using the bike even more recently. Really like the inner-tube on the fork as think it looks pretty good and stays on very well too. Been using it a few days now and working really well. 😀 Plus it doesn't cost anything either. The maintenance stand one will be a god send for doing things on the bike to!
@@CycleEveryday It would be appreciated if Brompton brought out little pots of touch-up paint.. but not yet they haven't. And you can't get anything useful in spray form from Halfords anymore. Oh, they sell paint OK, but the colours of the caps DO NOT MATCH THE PAINT INSIDE... ... and I am not kidding. (The Halfords paint is now sold by an ID number as quoted by the car manufacturer. "Duplicolor" car paint spray cans are now history.)
Yeah it’s not the best in that respect. To be fair I am not sure most people are too concerned. It happen on all bikes with cables, but think it’s worse on the Brompton because of the cabling and how it folds so more areas touching and rubbing on the frame. That’s the last one now I was concerned about so hopefully shouldn’t have any more problems. 🤞
Great ideas. I saw your video on fixing the rear wheel flat without taking off the tire. BRILLIANT! Subbed!
Thanks for the sub! Glad it was useful! 😀👍

No worries Michael. Glad it helped 👍
I was getting my bike ready for Spring riding just today and noticed the paint rubbing off on the fork. Timely hacks for me. Thanks.
Thanks Stephen. Glad it’s useful. The fork one surprised me a bit that it had rubbed down that far. Hopefully it helps you out! 👍

Yes its absolutely wonderful idea as long as you have a small conveniently grown tree at the right place lol
good idea
Thank you. Glad you think so 👍
I paid £5.00 for a Brompton Cable Fender Disc, looks great to protect frame

My partner got the B75 and saw it on that. I’ve applied it to my M6L and it works wonders. Either way thumbs up to your hacks 👍🏼
Thanks Jack! Appreciate that. If all else fails on the old inner tube will definitely be considering ordering one.
Someone needs to have a hack for releasing the bag off the front block more easily
The luggage straps are good for that which I did a couple of videos ago. Not sure if you saw it?
