    Instead of zip ties for bag release use paracord. You can get it in nice colors and it won't scratch your frame. You can also dress it up a bit with a lovely diamond knot.

    The 2 O-rings are supposed to sit under the pentaclip, not on the wider part of the seatpost, so that when the seat is lowered to lock the fold, the bottom of the pentaclip doesn’t mark and/or score the top of the seat tube.
    I’ve been using Swissstop Flash Pro BXP Blue cartridge pads, they give a much better performance and are a hard-wearing brake pad than the fibrax originals. I run Ergon GP1-L grips which protect the ulnar nerve in the heel of your hands and prevent sore wrists.

    • @CycleEveryday
      @CycleEveryday  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks. I have the extended seat post so it physically cant meant the top of the seat tube, but I can see what you mean and how that would be issue with the normal seat post. 👍
      I prefer it this way as the pentaclip is hidden more and think it looks a bit tidier. Not changed the grips at the moment. To be fair not had any issues with the foam grips and I actually think they are alright although I know quite a few people don't like them. Heard the ergon ones are pretty good though so when I need to change them will have a look at the ones you have suggested 👍

    The larger Roller Wheels are a +, but the Extender Bar adds greater stability (even with the rack) and a bit more height, ++.
    The Front Carry Block "loop" from a cable tie, excelant idea, for vertually no extra cost or weight.
    Thanks for the vlogs
    Take care

    • @CycleEveryday
      @CycleEveryday  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sounds like the extender bar would be better stability wise especially without the rack so nice idea 👍 Seen the cable tie a few times and it’s great. Been using it a few weeks now and that’s why we decided to get a leather one as found it really useful. Glad you enjoyed it!

      My extender bar has a carbon tube in the middle and alu ends, so the extra weight isn't that much, and I use titanium bolts on my "lightweight"! ;-)

    • @CycleEveryday
      @CycleEveryday  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not had much worry about the weight concerns but think if it is carried a lot that will make a huge difference. Makes sense to keep the weight down on a lightweight model 👍

  • @taber247
    @taber247 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Although unnecessary I too would have swaped over the brake shoes.
    Defiantly look better.
    The Eazy Wheels are a big improvement. Combined with a Roller Extender Bar £10, is an even better upgrade. Stops the tipping and makes it easier for shopping & tube travel trundling,
    Might fit the Zip Ties to the Carry Block. Great idea at min cost and weight. Would make my own hub cleaners.
    With a Sumner and Winter/Cargo B & contemplating an electric the Brooks C17 would at x3 be an expensive indulgence. Although very desirable.
    For frame protection Tape.
    Vegi, so no leather fram sleaves. And what if it rains.
    Enjoying your vlogs, thanks for sharing.
    Take care

    • @CycleEveryday
      @CycleEveryday  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Glad you found it useful. The zip ties are really good especially if you have the bigger bags. Totally understand about the leather. To be honest not had an issue in the rain and ridden it a few times in heavy rain.

    A really useful video. Thanks. When I bought my new Brompton M6R four years ago I asked for it to be fitted with Eazy wheels. I'd had previously fitted Eazy wheels myself to my old P6R.The shop told me that Brompton no longer supplied Eazy Wheels because the standard Brompton wheels were now much bigger. Standard wheels were bigger yes, but not big enough. I'm glad that Brompton now supply them again.

    • @CycleEveryday

    • @CycleEveryday

    For brake pads, just use Box Three Ajrflow race pads. I use them and refuse to run anything else, they really are the best rim pads out there.

    • @CycleEveryday
      @CycleEveryday  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They look interesting. Like the fact you can get different colours as well 👍

    • @andrewince8824
      @andrewince8824 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@CycleEveryday the design maximises airflow to reduce brake fade under hard use. The pads use 2 compounds to ensure a wider temperature performance band. They're roughly 80mm long giving huge stopping areas on each pad and from experience they'll survive a 40-0mph deceleration downhill, something no other rim brake has managed in my years doing stupid stuff. Where safety is concerned I always look toward Downhill MTB and BMX.

    I wish Brompton’s rear and front wheels had quick release. It just makes sense. If you get a puncture on the road and you want to repair it on the road quickly, I don’t want the hassle of using a spanner to loosen the bolt to take the wheels off the bike.

    With the Jim Frame Protector, if you could only pick one place to put the protector, where would you pick? On the frame or the stem.

    • @CycleEveryday
      @CycleEveryday  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The frame. Because that’s where I got the most damage. Do get a bit on the stem, but was more worried about the bit on the frame where the cables rub, plus you can move it down to protect on the pedal when folded as well so does two jobs 👍

    As u said in 2.31 , my bike is rocking due to wheels being changed , is that causing u any broblems ? Cuz mine can't be stable when I fold it , its a bit a hassle when in public transport for example...shall I just put the original ones back , despite the new one look cooler

    • @CycleEveryday
      @CycleEveryday  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The only thing I have found helps is having the handle bars down. I have the m-bars though so think they are closer to the ground when folded. That added a bit of stability. Only other thing is an extender that would help. It is a bit of a pain though that it’s less stable. Putting the old ones back on would fix it, but wouldn’t roll as well. 👍

    You don’t want to get the leather accessories wet in the rain though, do you?

      Not had any issues with them getting wet during the rain. I do always take them off when I wash it though. Generally find that they are fine in general rainy condition in the UK at least. Use the Brompton in all weathers and so far they are all holding up well. 👍
