The next Battlefield will be a trainwreck

- ...and why that's nothing new in terms of past trends. What I bring up in this video is an issue of trust, and how repeated broken launches can degrade said trust.
It's not all doom and gloom, just speculation, and I hope that when the next battlefield does come around, we get a fun game straight out of the gate this time around!

Noooooo
I’ve NEVER experienced a bug in any battlefield game and I’ve been playing since BF3 😂
“No offense” The worst thing EA did to BF was upgrade graphics and physics to the point it was to demanding to incorporate true destruction again. Not that they added “Hero Classes” 😂 I can’t with yall man. If game developers give up it’s cause yt wont stop complalnlng and focusing on the negatlve like do battle passes make a game unplayable or not 😂. Look what yall did to 343 who Honestly only improved Halo. Look what yall did to Battlefield (the best large scale war simulator) not a thing wrong with it but lost 90% of its player count due to YT nonsense rants about “hero classes and game bugs” BF is one of the least buggy games I’ve ever experienced 😂 I can’t
Cry about it
They ruined the franchise by chocking on BF5. It was in an awesome state with a lot of hype on future front that were promised and instead they released 2042
Dont forget battlefront 2! They killed their 2 investments right when they were starting to pop off.
@@Gadtkaz EA was on a streak of cutting support for their games early. Same thing happened with Need for Speed Heat as well.
I will just stick to BF1 and be happy. Franchise peaked there imo.
In my opinion, BF1 was peak atmosphere. They totally nailed the WW1 vibe.
id say the battlefield franchise peaked with bf3 but bf1 is truely the last good battlefield, luv that game
Don't forget how that trailer united us together to hate cod back in 2017
@@mischi9203 Battlefield 1 is so much better than 3 it's not even funny, I'd go as far as to say the cancerous things we have in 3 are the reason we have Battlefield 5 and 2042
You call the gunplay in bf1 superb? Better than bf3?
Either you are insane or dumb as a rock. Or never played bf3.
Gunplay was straight up garbage in bf1..atmosphere is not the most important thing in a SHOOTER. Its the shooting part that matters more.
Battlefield as a franchise didnt need to be broken if the devs themselves actually cared about the lore. The final DLC for bf4 (which according to lore was in 2020) was teasing things such as titans and hover tanks from bf2142. Why none of that showed up in bf2042 (only 22 years later) is absolutely beyond me.......
Yeah that was such a wasted opportunity
Also abandoning factions in favour of a proxy war fought with climate refugees felt really off, instead they could have more factions than just Russia and America, like an EU faction as a call forward to 2142
@thesenate1844 Ya none of it made sense really. The devs even put in walker weapon charms as microtransactions rather than including the 2142 vehicle itself. It's kind of a slap in the face to anyone who's actually been paying attention.
The original devs all left

EA and DICE could save the franchise if they listen to the fans and continue Battlefield V’s lost updates. There was a whole D-Day and Eastern Front expansion that was dropped
I think they dropped the ball so hard on launch marketing and with firestorm, they decided to cut their losses on the post content drops.
I think in a universe where they had went all in on the main game mode (conquest) on launch instead of PUBG 2.0, and went on differently about the marketing, we could've had those things :(
fr im still waiting for the “best” WW2 game they promised
there was an italian forces update that was dropped too
Ending Battlefront 2s support and not adding in requested content in the game
The fans are always split but they know what works and also know micro transactions work too
The last good bf was 1
4 was peak
3 getting shut down hurts too (xbox 360 and ps3)
BF3 is still up on 7th gen I think
@@ponraul1221Yes, but it will be finished at the end of the year
@@andrededecrafWe'll see about that
Nah BF1 peak
We need to move past this cycle of trash release into patches galore. Just because it's the norm doesn't mean it's ok. Battlefield 2042 was the final straw with a lot of players.
Guys…. Rule No 1: never preorder games. The studios should just receive their money, when they deliver. Then they will learn. I still ask myself why so many still do it?
That is the very sensible thing to say but in reality there is just a subsect of people who see the trailer and will pre-order the deluxe edition immediately. They will play the game a couple times and be satisfied. That's who these game developers are banking on. It's the same person who buys call of duty at full price every year without fail
For the beta. And then they don’t cancel the preorder.
To the 5 people who actually will see this video, never ever fly the MV-38 Condor. Please.

"Every battlefield has been terrible since bf3!!!" *Proceeds to show footage from only bf4 and bf5". Whether you hated it or liked it, bf1 was perfect.
We'll it was the best we've had, but not perfect exactly. We did have people like Crowbcat make glitch compilations, and lots of memes were spread back in the early days. Otherwise I should've clarified that BF1 was better, in that you are correct.
Apart from the clip of a German A7 tank flying into the air while firing its flamethrower? Perfect otherwise.
Yo bf1 was buggy as hell and the menus are absolutely awful. It’s my favorite battlefield along with bf3. Bf1 was peak battlefield, I think the concept and or gameplay was close to perfect. There were some terrible balance issues and there were definitely bugs and issues. It’s the best battlefield game to date. Not a perfect game though.
@@NoobinatiI never quite understood the entire glitch argument when bf3 was glitchy as hell as well and there are plenty of video compilations to show this. I think this is a circumstance of pure preference, do you like modern warfare or do you like older warfare? What kind of vibe and atmosphere do you want? Do you want it to be modern urban or wet trench warfare? These are both amazing games that have the same quality and are honestly perfect games. It’s just a matter of what you like in a shooter and what you don’t. Thats the beauty of it.

Modern day triple A games
For me the greatest fuck up in 2042 are, they removing the 4 classes we had and add the Specialists, no campaign mode, and honestly a feeling of Dice and EA being out of touch
I would say that they go back to Bf V and add all of the missing stuff that's missing like, Normandy, Battle of the Bulge, the eastern front and even new countries like Italy and France (Also change the fucking German flag, why the fuck did they put the Imperial German flag from BF1??)
The other german Flag could get the game banned from certain countries.

Battlefield isn’t beyond redemption, but they definitely need a consistent vision that still feels like Battlefield and enough time to cook since current dice is pretty much all new developers.
In the meantime, the Finals is a great game with a lot of ex Battlefield devs working on it and it shows in the quality
Honestly, I feel like battlefield devs don't play battlefield. Bfv felt like it was a little arcadeier than previous entries, and fumbled a few key points, but wasn't all that bad. Bf2042 felt like it was built by people who had no idea what battlefield is and ended up making an apex-esque open world game
@@antoniogasse4111it’d be simple to make BF 4 with V vehicle mechanic and that crouch sprinting and take some other aspects from 1 and you’d have a solid new battlefield.
@@yupyeah6991 i think map design would be the sticking point. Making good battlefield maps is hard, and with a completely fresh dev team I don't know if they can pull it off
@@antoniogasse4111 you’ve got a good point, unless the devs on map design are true BF fans and gamers it’d be hard for them to make a good map. Although I think a way for inexperienced devs to work around that is looking at older BF games and see how they played and gamers reacted to them and reach out to the community with poles and asking for feedback. I know that’s asking way too much but it really wouldn’t be that hard since most of us are pretty vocal and articulate about what we’re wanting and like about the game. Along with just looking at real world examples like Stalingrad, bakmut, Falluja, the airport from the US withdrawal from Afghanistan and tons of other places from conflicts around the world and get a look at the terrain and how battles played out for inspiration. Especially the first three since I know a lot of people would love a big urban map to play on yknow? I know it’s easier said than done when it comes to development but there’s multiple ways around figuring out what would work and wouldn’t work and I really think reaching out is their best option especially if they reach out through all the current games. Put a message update and all currently available BF games when players get online and ask them to pole, that way the only people giving feedback are genuine members of the community
I'd rather see EA sell the Battlefield IP to the ex Dice devs of the finals, they could probably make a good battlefield game.
Boycotting each and every single Battlefield game until we finally get Bad Company 3
It doesn't help that when we actually got a relatively polished game, BF1, a bunch of people whinged because it wasn't BF3/4. Why would EA and Dice ever focus on quality, if people don't actually care for it?
I will never forgive EA for shutting down Battlefield 2142's master server, the actively bar the few diehard fans of that game from ever playing it through legitimate means. that game was goated and BF4's "titan" mode was a weak watered down derivative from the cool gametype that it was in BF2142.
Bf4 was Peak(after it was fixed). Bf1 was the peak of peak
Fully agree that it'll be a goddam mess. I knew things were going horribly for BFV when I heard about firestorm. You can't lead in an industry by following popular trends. It's such a shame with how much fun BF1 was.
2042 will never recover from that awful launch. Dice threw in the towel very early on after its release. Expect the same from the next game in the series
1:55 to be completely fair that bf1 bug got fixed during the first week. And pretty much after that first week it was smooth sailing.
>Cilck on a video being quite sceptic
> Hears a mighty accent
> 100% sure agreeing
Kinda sounds like arch or artyom from metro 2033 redux
Well next time around Dice will NOT get the hundreds of millions in preordered payments to fix the day one bugs, they will NOT get the hundreds of thousands of day one sales, as everyone that knows Dice will wait and see before they buying the game.
Dice need to appeal to gamers with a battlefield experience we can relate to and rooted in some historical fact, based in the future or even present times just does not work as it’s not mass appealing enough. The game needs to work as intended out of the box. Lastly if Dice want it to look like and play like Fortnight make a Fortnight game but don’t turn the battlefield series into an arcade game.
2143 is all we need. With titan mode intact on launch.

they could get so much money by doing the bare minimum update for odler battlefield games, just imagine how the community would go crazy over 4 new bf4 maps or something

Levolution brand new my ass.
we had levolution in BF2 and there it wasnt just destroying stuff either, you could build destroyed things, something only repeated in BF5 more then a decade later
The fundamentals for Levolution existed, it's that they went all in on grander destruction events changing maps with bf4, and mostly due to console hardware evolving to the point they did not get bricked when a skyscraper goes down.

Really hit the nail on the head with the cycle. But sadly even with 2042 showing how out of touch the franchise is with its own identity, the average consumer will still get hyped and buy the next one. As you said “flashy CGI trailer” is all a consumer needs to see and they’re sold. Sad but I agree that battlefield will continue to fall, and this next one may finally be the one that lays the IP to rest. Just the state of gaming we are in unfortunately.
I’ll forever be mindblown on how a company could fumble such a simple franchise. We’re not like cod or anyone else. Yet they made the last few games as if we were. No one wants battle passes, battle royal, specialist characters like some sort of R6 and later on WZ rip offs. We play Bf because of the bigger battles, game types and variety in game play with each squad class from medic to scout and all their individual roles that added together can really make or break a match in some cases and all the types of vehicles. It’s a hella simple formula that only needs minor improvements if that to make people happy and yet they wanna throw it all out the window to “attract” a wider audience which literally always ends up pushing everyone who cared away and never retains the new players long term anyways it’s so stupid
My soul shattered when you didn't mention 3 & 4 in The beginning. Just 1 & 5 as of late :( god I miss operation metro
The next bf game has not been announced and has hardly been mentioned whatsoever and the hype train already stopped
‘The DICE roll’
We were so close to greatness, and missed it xD
BF3 had some glaring issues that generally seemed like they were overlooked. The netcode for one I remember dying behind walls in 3 a lot but it wasn’t until the launch of 4 people recognized it.
The next battlefield is already here and it's called delta force.
I lost trust. Particularly with how you’re not even national armies now.
I think the loss of army identities was one of the biggest hits to the tone of the franchise.
Good video! You deserve more views!
What really doesnt help is the fact that dice uses an overcomplicated, notoriously unreliable game engine that takes years of intensive traning to master making new developers seriously behind on skill. Like seriously, the frostbite engine is hot shit. They should have droped it for a market standard like unreal ages ago.
Idk how CDPR is doing it with TW5 but UE5 does not make any sense for big companies to use. It's extremely expensive for big projects while remaining cheap and accesible for small projects.
@@fns58 Your comment doesn't make any sense.
How is Unreal Engine 5 expensive for big projects but not expensive for small projects? It's either expensive or it's cheap. Even then, a good engine can't fix human incompetency
I genuinely don't think it matters.
Whether it's Frostbite, Unity, or Unreal Engine, DICE is going to struggle severely with their next Battlefield project due to incompetence
BF2 also was a trainwreck. It was so buggy and every patch introduced more bugs than it fixed. At one point they "fixed" the game and suddenly you could have more than one commanders per team.
This was a very good video... Deserves more views
Humor was awesome you deserve the sub
Thanks mate! :)
I really hope the next game has the operations from BF1, it had potential to be the best gamemode in the series.
battlefield 3 and battlefield 4 were always to be last peak battlefield games in the series
Blame gamers that pre-order, buying a promise not a product
The devs are probably doing the best they can while the publishers and the ceo's set unsustainable deadlines and goals. Companies like CA for example completely ignore the advice from their devs and as a result, several of their games didn't do as well as they could have and now CA is being downsized by SEGA massively.
I think this is the case for DICE. It's not going to get better, the company will go into the drain like CA did and take the battlefield games with it.
But people never learn, the hype will be there again, pre orders will happen and the cycle will repeat again.
If they announce bad company 3, I’m gunna cry lol. Don’t ruin it at this point
I wouldn't want to jinx bad company 3 man 😭
@@Noobinati I just don’t want them to come out with it at this point. Let the franchise die on a high note with 2
Personally, I don't mind if a game's broken on launch. What bugs me is that I'd like Battlefield to focus on what made it special to begin with: vehicles.
I'd love to see a more advanced vehicle simulation. Not fighter jets slower than my rusty old Saab, which can't carry missiles and countermeasures at the same time. I'm not a competitive player, bugs can be amusing in and of themselves.
Make players who want to use vehicles spawn as a crew class, who can only be equipped with pistols and PDW's. Make planes supersonic, with objectives to complete outside the main battlefield. Allow me to customize if I want my fighter jet to be an F-18, a Mirage or a Gripen.
I loved 4 and 3. 1 was fun but not quite my cup of tea but i could see how people liked it. But afterwards they just did not seem enticing at all.
I even have something nice to say to hardline. The gamemodes were interssting not all of them great but interesting and fun.
I still don't know why EA doesn't let DICE have unlimited creative choices. I mean if they continue working and inovating on the core BF formula and add new mechanics that work nice I think it might sell same as like BF1.
Calling it the Dice Cycle instead of the Dice Roll is unforgivable. Also Battlefield 1 launched more or less fine, by modern game standards, if I recall correctly.

BF2042 would've been much better if they listened to the community on what they need to change
If the new game is like BF2 the franchise is saved.

I'm still playing BF4, more fun than anything Dice has put out in 10 years
Pausing at 5:16 to make a point and oh my god you NAILED it dude! Battlefield 3 still ranks within my top 5 favourite games of all time so of course I pre-ordered BF4, and was hugely disappointed. So I bought 5 when it came out without pre-ordering, and was disappointed. I literally just got 2042 a few weeks ago for my birthday and I've played maybe 5 hours, just long enough to unlock the SVD and relive the magic a little, but I think the trust is gone. I think I've checked out of the series for anything short of a BF3 remaster, and that really sucks. :/
People don’t realize these bad releases are on purpose. It’s a way of giving us “content” until the first content drops.
I have not purchased a Batlefield game since BF4. I probably will never purchase one again.
Banjo Kazooie Music!!
Speaking of the 'increased amount of developers on the project' not necessarily being a positive: They don't have the talent.
There was a massive amount of people leaving before BF5 release and even before hand. It ain't the same people making these games, and the very few that are left are probably red taped by higher ups, a trend in nearly every single AAA studio.
I had more fun playing Hardline than BF2042. Unfortunately, BF3 for me was peak and I wish I could go back and keep playing it.
All I want is BF2 with modern graphics and features. No fancy futuristic shit and no extra paid content. Just good old conquest gameplay with teamwork and big maps. If they make it to feel like Project Reality, even better

Everyone is literally screaming for a modern spin off of BF3 and has been for over a decade. Give us that fun, realism, and AUDIO. But that would be too easy.
They are corporate. The corporate greed and rot has rotted the game. They need to focus on gamers and not investors.
What irritates me about Battlefield 2042 is how unplanned and poorly thought out everything is done in the game, balancing and Map design is one of them
the Map design of Battlefield 2042, it literally looks like they put a bunch of random assets and threw them there for players to play, the Heaven map already shows this, all houses are possible to enter, Tanks can pass everywhere, everything there is destructible, it is not possible to predict where the enemy might come from, as there are 6 windows always open, which is where a shot could come from and balancing, I talk about both weapons and vehicles, WHY THE F*CK Can a BIRD be blown up/destroyed by shots from an SMG?? Because to kill infantry, you need to use half the machine gun before it heats up??? why the game has maps so open that it is almost impossible to hide from an RPG, an AA/guided missile, a jet, or a TV guided missile?? Anyone who plays helicopters on the Xbox One servers should know what I'm talking about, it's extremely annoying to play BF42 with a helicopter, we also have the fact that a TANK does not KILL an infantry after firing a missile less than 40m away from it, Why is the engineer class so weak? literally, you have to use the torch 3 times before it heats up or more to repair a BIRD helicopter or a tank, meaning that when If you get damaged, you need to abandon the vehicle, as there would never be time to fix it and there is also the complaint that appeared in the video, because a transport helicopter is heavier and slower than a helicopter full of weapons and missiles...well that's some of the frustration I had with this game and honestly, whoever came to talk about Skill, just ignore this comment, because it means you didn't understand what I meant
(and a map design that is good and shown in BF42 is from that map full of snow (I forgot the name), within the construction of flag D, it literally shows what Battlefield's Map design was supposed to be, 3 places to run or take shots and a place to avoid when taking cover)
There are only a small pool of maps where you can fly a heli for more than 5 seconds without getting locked on and shot down, but those are the minority, and with the amount of ace combat players out there chances are you'll not survive regardless even with cover because enemy air superiority.
Tv guided spam is still an issue even after nerf, in comparison to bf4 the only TV guided missiles there were on the big gunboats. You had to have some serious skill to hit SRAW shots against choppers.
In bf2042 to make a transport chopper work the stars have to align perfectly, and that rarely happens.
Glad I found other franchises like the FromSoftware games to save me from this train wreck
8:06 that shit ain’t overcooked at all

I wouldn't want to incur gaij- I mean the snail's wrath upon my head, so I'll rather not comment on the state of that game yet xD
i reallly like BF but some things that were used in other games arent used in newer games. For me the perfect BF would BF4 as a base game , big maps( and there MUST BE smoll maps infrantry only op locker op metro as such..), class based gameplay and looots of content( the DLCs from BF4 or BF1 ) , the thing I would implement would be the behemoths from BF1, since the time for my bf is as the same as bf4 i would use AC-130s as a behemoth. Also the points system in BF5 is realy great for me (were you could get the sturmmörser for points or atillery) and i personally like the the reviving from BF5 the most,---> they could make a smoll animation where the medic would crouch and actually hit the body with a Defib... lemme know what your perfect BF is :)
Aye, for me it will always be BF4, but it's mostly due to nostalgia I admit.
I've always been a medic main, and like you said BF5 had the best revives, full stop. Good cqb weapons to defend yourself with, tons of smokes and fast revives.
At the same time BF1 has the best tone aligned with it's WW1 setting, and doesn't go overboard with cosmetics. I had the most fun when everybody used to have like 3 gas grenades, and every objective was covered in gas making playing shotgun a really fun strat. It got patched early on because many didn't like it but for me it was hilarious.
Each battlefield has quirks that makes it a little bit different from the rest, and I kind of like that factor as well :)
The biggest downfall of 2042 was that it had no Metro/ locker in the map roster on launch, only in portal.
One word capitalism

2.- Add new textures, weapons vehicles and maps.
