Cooking up a Shadow inspired character for a one-shot who is a Scourge Aasimar Aberrant Sorcerer, since he has alien DNA and transformations. Took Slow and Hold Person for Chaos Control, Fireball and Fire Storm for Chaos Blast, etc. And then things like Otherworldly Guise and Revelations in Flesh took into account Doom Morph and Doom Wing. And then a quick dip into Fiend Warlock (Black Doom) for Eldritch Blast for Chaos Spear and then took Agonizing Blast and Lance of Lethargy to upgrade to Doom Spears. Scourge Aasimar is for when he removes his Limiter Rings for a boost while also overflowing with power.
A certain company seems to be using a certain glitch to advertise something other than the Ultimate Lifeform. Fail. (Now watch as Kirby says to me 'You're so ignorant, you'd fail a haircut!')
I played shadow recently in a meme one shot. I played a tabaxi shadow monk and the main gimmick was charger with mobile and speedy. So basically spin dash all day.
The one thing I would do differently is to find a way to incorporate Fireball into his kit, as Chaos Blast is one of his signature moves from his solo game, as well as showing up in other games where he is playable
My concept for Shadow is different, mainly because I limited myself to the 2024 players handbook. Str 10 Dex 15 (+1 from Background) Con 12 Int 13 Wis 14 (Plus 2 from Background) Cha 8 For race/species I went Goliath. They have the longest movement speed at 35; they get an ability based on the type of giant they descend from, in this case Cloud Giant’s Jaunt gives you a level 1 teleport; they also have an ability where they become Large, gain 10 movement and get advantage on strength checks for 10 minutes. We’ll say for flavor’s sake that instead of literally becoming Large, you’re treated as if you were large for all intents and purposes and your eyes and quills illuminate a pleasing shade of red for the duration. After leaving the Ark, I believed he would live in the wilderness, so in addition to the abilities it gives you I thought Guide would fit. Guide gives you Magic Initiate Druid, which we’ll have scale off Wisdom. The important cantrip is Starry Wisp. I thought Radiant damage made more sense than Force for the spear attack, so this was my Spear. It does 1d8 radiant and the target can’t benefit from being invisible - which under the new rules means hiding isn’t possible. The damage also increases up to 4d8 as you level up. We start as a Monk, go Way of the Shadow, and basically do the same thing you did, except up to Monk 15, getting 3 ASIs going into Dex and Wisdom making one of them 20 and the other 18. We then multiclass into Ranger, except we go Hunter at Ranger 3 for Hunter’s Lore, which tells you resistances, immunities and vulnerabilities; and Hunter’s Prey, giving you the option between Colossus Slayer dealing extra damage to a weakened enemy or Horde Breaker dealing an extra attack to another creature within five feet of the original target. At Ranger 4 you grab Boon of Speed increasing your 18 to 19 and then go back to Monk to grab Boon of Recovery, rounding it to 20; allowing you when you would go to zero to drop to one hit point instead, and then recover half your hit points; and finally as a bonus action expend one or more of up to ten d10s to heal each long rest. 35 base speed plus 10 from large form plus 25 from Monk is 70 feet, and Longstrider on the Druid and Ranger spell list makes 80, and Boon of Speed makes 110. Using an action to dash is 220 and a bonus action dash from Monk is 330. Getting Haste from an ally or a potion gives you the ability to dash again for 440, but also doubles it to 880. The magic item Boots of Speed doubles it again, making 1760. A “Wings of Flying”or Cloak of the Bat gives you some flight, and Bracers of Defense improve your AC, making up a bit for missing the capstone ability of Monk. By level 20 you have 8+15d8 hit dice from Monk, 4d10 hit dice from Ranger, averaging 89 hit points. On top of that you have 10d10 you can recover from Boon of Recovery, averaging 55 hit points of healing, adding up to an effective hit point total of 144. Even when they’ve landed a decisive blow, you aren’t done yet, getting back up with another 45 hit points. You can deflect Slashing, Piercing, Bludgeoning and Energy, reducing the damage and potentially returning it. With 20 Dex and Wisdom and Bracers of Defense, you have 22 AC. You have a minimum of 180 movement (35 from Goliath, 25 from Monk, 30 from Boon of Speed, x2 from Boots of Speed that don’t have a duration or limit), and a maximum of 1760. You can fly, run across water and across walls, and have multiple options for teleporting. You can identify your enemy’s strengths and weaknesses, and you can hit really hard when you want to or spread the punishment across multiple enemies. In my opinion, an Ultimate Life Form.
Hey builds Been wanting to make an atom eve build Based on her powers, thought i should go transmutation wizard And based on how she can see into the quantum, though i should give her the max perception i can and a sort of psychometry(if you read her in comics, she can recreate machinery and biology from scratch) Came up with a bare bones idea like this: Skills: Racial Skill(perception) Wizard(arcana/investigation) Far Traveler(history/nature) Skill Expert(religion) Class: Wizard(transmutation)lvl1-20 Feats: Keen Mind(int), Alert, Observant(int), Skill Expert(perception)(int), Dungeon Delver Epic boon->Boon of Truesight Wanted to see what you and others think (also thx in advance and love you and ur vids)
What about symic hybrid, it gives you plenty of options for different types of abilities. Such as Manta wings for i think either fly or glide for the doom wings.
I personally thematically Simic hybrid fits him better with or without doom powers. With the doom powers manta glide is the doom wings and aquatic adaptations is doom surf. Without doom powers I’d say go nimble climber for a climbing speed to move on walls and carapace for an extra AC and just reflavor it as superior genetics from being an artificial lifeform that’s immortal. Also no, chaos spears is an ability native to shadow himself, he’s shown them as far back as Sonic Adventure 2, in the last fight between him and sonic. While I agree that shadow has monk levels I don’t think shadow monk fits him, shadow sorcerer does that better, no, I’d recommend sun soul monk, for chaos spears, in radiant bolts, and since they increase with the monk unarmed strikes damage it would scale up with him. I would also stop with monk levels after level 5s extra attack and damage upgrade to 1d8. Shadow sorcerer gets darkness abilities and access to misty step which you can use for short range teleportation and I would increase this one’s level to 5 for access to Haste to double our speed and give us an extra action for more attacks or dashes for extra speed. I personally think shadow using guns are a overused meme as he’s only used them in the one game, instead I’d go stars Druid, with it you get starry form which gives you dragon and archer, dragon makes it so you can’t lose concentration on haste when you get hit since if you start with sorcerer your con save is gonna be decently high, at least 15 by the time this goes online. Archer gives you another chaos spear that deals as much damage as tour radiant bolts but as I’m gonna recommend going all the way to level 10 to get an improved archer form that dies about as much damage as a flurry of blows radiant bolt but you can use it after you run out of ki points. I do wonder how mine would feel to play alongside yours though?
not to be the math guy but, 1080 ft in one round of combat would be 180 ft/s (6 seconds a round), speed of sound in the air at 20 degrees celsius is 1125ft/s. so while the build at top speed is fast (122 mph), its no where near the speed of sound (767 mph)
I will continue to request Strife, or Death from Darksiders or Reaper from Overwatch. Or even better the one who sits at the pinnacle of all THE LION SIN OF PRIDE ESCANOR!!! From Seven Deadly Sins
Question: is epic boon a class feature? It is only obtained if you reach level 19 of any 1 class. To me, this means epic boons are only available to those who do not multiclass more than 1 level. It's an incentive to stay with your original class.
Yep I got to agree with @ateliergod I initially thought that you had to be level 19 in just one class as well, but upon further reading there is only one requirement which is that you're level 19. So as long as you time your abilities cores properly you're all set
@@dndbuilds With your justification, would you let a player at your table take 2 Epic Boons? For example, they level up one class to level 15, then go 4 levels in another class and get an Epic Boon at total level 19, then at level 20 go back to the first class's level 16 for another feat, would you let them gain a second epic boon? Obviously this is an optimized progression, but I personally think, rules as intended, Epic Boons are meant for campaigns exclusively above Level 19 with everyone having only 1 epic boon to begin with. I appreciate hearing your take.

You should build Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz as a warlock at some point.

True story: I had a DM that made maps that were too big so I casted speed boosting spells on the Monk so he could zip through the map no problem.

Buddha from record of ragnorok
Okay so, in my opinion, I used an
Protector Assimar
12 Divine Soul Sorcerer
8 Hex Blade Warlock
Or
12 Kenseai Monk
8 Bladesining Wizard
Shadow the Hedgehog as a D&D build.
I never thought I'd see that. XD
Interesting stuff.

Since Shadow is well into his 60s and is still keeping up with the younger characters i think Shadow needs more monk levels to get Diamond Soul
