I got a wash near me with automatic bays where the top wash costs $3, middle $2, and bottom for free. $5 is required to be paid to enter the site though. Also crazy, right?
Hydraulic drive motors supply power to more than one piece of equipment so you see them run when there is no car present. Electric drive (where motor is mounted to the equipment) typically you will only see the brush rotating while the brush is actively washing a car. Does that make sense?
Hydraulic motors are still powered with electricity - just the motors are attached to pumps in the back room of the car wash attached to fluid pumps to create pressurized oil to create rotation at the brush and return fluid back to the tank to be recycled and used again. Hydraulic equipment has 2 hoses fed to it. One feed line - one return.

@@carwashnews I love Hydraulic Pumps and I think the sound is quite good. Which do you feel though is more beneficial? Electric or Hydraulic?
