Hey brother, regarding my old comment I actually found a FL5 in south Florida for Msrp it was at crown Honda in Tampa it was so worth the 300 mile drive and I get the color I actually wanted! Anyway bro appreciate the words of wisdom which helped me get my FL5!
Oh I forgot the seats, check this out, I wish I could post a pic, I picked up a set of Coverado seat covers for the front, they look amazing, and oem as they are 100% full coverage seat covers, so you can't tell they are covers, anyway they add a look but more importantly more cushion and the heated seats still work. I also picked up for long trips a massaging heated seat cushion that you put on over the seat and then plug in, it has a remote, 8 massage settings and 3 levels of heat too, so for 3 hour or longer trips I bust that out, for comfort. The coverados are great, I love the look, much better than stock in my opinion, plus my seats stay mint, and I get a more comfortable ride.
Powered driver seat without memory is just crazy dumb. Keeping the weight difference low compared to the CTR was a high priority when they made this car. The trunk button in the remote is to unlock the trunk. It will lock the car once you close the trunk. No need to have the key with you when opening the trunk. Im with you on the manual release button. To disconnect apple car play quick. Just disable wifi on your phone.
I don't use the wireless charging feature or wireless Apple Car play - I plug have a small 6" usb cable that I plug my phone in (this also charges it) - to quickly disconnected, I just unplug my phone. Other than that, your critique is pretty fair about the car's shortcomings (though my sunglasses holder doesn't rattle)
Good video. Just a tip (this may help or not) for your phone charging. I have an FL5 Type R and stopped using the wireless charger. I went to a chord for a number of reasons. 1) charges faster 2) phone doesn't overheat and 3) the sound quality for music on your phone is FAR better. Like your ride man. Congrats on getting one.
Yes bro the forward collision and the automatic breaking will get me killed!!!! It’s in my wife’s 22 RDX advance a spec and it drives me fricking crazy!!!!!!!!
You can have that piano black center trim wrapped in Alcantara in the after market. Agreed on the seat just make it manual like the Type R. Or if your going to do power seats have it for both and include memory like the Aspec. Everything else just really doesn’t bother me.
Since you asked. The only thing I miss or wish they had left is memory seats. I'm good with the rest, you have to remember it was a challenge to keep this car at its weight and the goal was under 50k$, after all it is a civic. So you start adding all those items and the weight and price go up. I'm ok with the "quirks" as they are since it was for a good reason. We don't want the car to cost 60k$ The car has the most amazing front suspension, and drive train and this is what we wanted, an engaging fun to drive manual and that is exactly what the car is, as is. Also, something I don't hear anyone talk about it is the cruise control, this car can pretty much drive itself on the highway. It will make substantial turns on corners without assistance, at least until the warning comes up. I don't suggest you try it, but people have put a water bottle in the steering wheel to keep that sensor from activating and the car just drives and drives, I love that feature.
So I think if you were on the Integra Forums, you'd see that a lot of current Type S owners mentioned these gripes and found solutions for most of the issues that you mentioned. I look at it this way: Cars like these are going to be modded and customized to our liking. Sure it would be nice to have those things from the factory, but they (Honda/Acura) had a price point to meet and I'd rather that Honda/Acura made the car than not. EDIT: What happened to the man bun?😀
Most everything you mentioned are legit gripes but the biggest thing for me is no sunroof, that's what I like so all in all I'm happy with my 21 TLX Type S, not that they couldn't have done some things with mine like give 400 hp but I can live with that. Overall I still like the looks of the Integra
Thanks for watching. As far as sunroof goes I don’t care for it because the concept of the car is “track car” so no sunroof makes sense. I like the TLX TYPE S, it was my first choice, that car is more executive tho, I got this for the reason it’s a little more juvenile 😈
