I like how even Carmilla was trying to point out to Lenore that she went soft around Hector completely letting her guard down.
Lenore’s downfall is giving Hector the freedom to walk around the castle and let him do whatever he wants during free time.
Hector never went soft around Lenore IYKWIM
She gave him what she thought he wanted: comfort, safety, freedom, respect from the vampires, her. She thought sharing her weather-proof shelter was enough to convince him to stay. It was that humane cage Hector so fondly thought humans deserved.
In the end, he ruined her life and saved hers.
@@cyberzone10 it ended up bringing what she wanted tho, she wanted a world of diplomacy and not just war and that's what happened, I think her death was not a very good writing for that reason
@@bj_cat103 yeah they ended that storyline too quickly as they closed that chapter. Hector providing a cage or shelter for her would have been the next chapter. But their last dialog was a good summary of what would have followed. And Lenore not being able to live in a cage was the expected outcome. He freed her but it cost her shelter.

too many stupid ass toxic executives in TV. Streaming at the moment has more freedom cause they don't fully understand it to get their grips on it fully. So some shows will be free from the BS and dumbing down they so love in TV and movies.

Amazing innuendo and chemistry between the 2 characters.pity how they ended their relationship. was far too short but then so are all the good things in life.
This show should have went to 5 seasons. Cause even though they wrapped things up well it's obvious things were rushed to a conclusion.
The "all good things in life are far too short" 100% deserves some kind of inuendo response from either Lenore or Hector.
Hector ended up the relationship being a complete A-hole basiclly making his wife to commit suicide by comparing her nature to that of a parasite (there is very little to love about hector he is a childish piece of sheet with a clapped family background), and he was only good for making porn with Lenore.
Moreover, while commiting suicide Lenore realised that her kind are actually walking shades that dematerialised when facing the light, and she was the first of her kind not to bitch about it.
Lenore: "I'm bored and its fun to horrify you"
Hector: "Ah yes 'horrifying' is exactly the word starting with an 'H' to describe what I'm feeling when you tease me like that."
The Irony is that Lenore bailed out from her plan when the roles are reversed.
She probably was in that position before. Which would make sense why she was so insistent on him having a good life and to be treated well.
She has a weak will. Hector has been living in a cage for over a month and he didn’t seem to have suicidal thoughts unlike Lenore.
She give up so easily when things don’t go her way.
@cyberzone10 it’s more complicated then that. She realized that eventually she’ll end up like carmilla and Dracula. Greedy and over reaching. She’s the most compassionate vampire we’ve seen and I think she rather die then become like them.

@@thebettymonster4851 That's how I saw it - we don't get told why, but she's the only Vampire to reason out a conclusion against her own nature, and also had a streak of compromise and compassion that she shouldn't have had. Only reason I could come up with is that it was to parallel her with Edgar Allen Poe's "Lenore" if that "Lenore" was a Vampire instead of a maiden. Which might make sense if you make Hector the man in those poems where Lenore is referenced.

Lenore talking about how they have heating in their castle, which was just human tech that humans simply forgot, lives rent free in my mind. That line from her made me think about all the things humans have forgotten over the years... that line made her my favorite character, easily.
Not only that, but think of the advances of the sciences that could have occurred if the 'Dark Ages' haven't been prevalent, when people like Lisa Tepes were looked at as witches and practitioners of magic, when all they were doing was studying and advancing science.
yeah think about the latrine system in London during the medieval age, the anglos can't even work with stones and have to take down old roman building to make a stone hall.

I think the weird horror of the vampire is when you see the person under the monster shining through for just a moment and you wonder if they're a horror were projecting our humanity onto or if you're dealing with a person with a real nasty monkey on their back.
Lenoire really covers that ambiguity well. If she a wonderful vibrant woman whose just disconnected from us after 200 years of horror or is it an unclean thing from the outer dark wearing the mask of a woman? Maybe both?
Watching her flirt with Hector like she's his bored slightly horny girlfriend waiting for him to get on with a project she doesn't get is strangely compelling.
I mean that's what vampires are first and foremost, people. They are essentially humans with extra powers, and if they'd let go of their arrogance like Lenore did, the 2 races could easily coexist.

When season 4 hit I thought that Hector was going to be all miserable. But it turns out that he displayes his sassiness towards Lenore. They gotten so used to eachother to the point their dynamics got all interesting and fun ❤

Well i am really upset because she is gone. She was the best waifu in history. The solar suicide of Lenore was touched my heart. I love how she wanted to see this beautiful sun Hector always talked about. But the last thing she did was look back to see if Hector was there. He was what she wanted to see before she went. Really. I was really wish something happy for her. Well i will listen The Night Walk Ost while crying in my bed.
I mean... evidently forgemasters can reach into hell and vampires are just creatures that avoided death and the eventual fate of going into hell.
So in theory a forgemaster with enough skill could technically be so well versed in the craft that they can not only choose the soul that returns. But refine the night creature summoned back to be a vampire which is a creature of the night.
But sadly I'm not in the writing team so...
She lived for over 200 years and chose her death instead of becoming insane like Carmilla (thats what i keep speaking to myself to not cry for a loss of my favourite waifu).

Some of them are old-school Castlevania fans, and get butt hurt whenever something different happens. I’ve been a fan since 2004, and then some of the changes are a little bit radical, I think it’s OK.
It was pretty awesome in large parts and overall pretty good, but Hectors and Lenores act was a huge disappointment. Lenore getting outsmarted, losing everything and just giving up doesnt fit with her season 3 character if that makes sence. It couldve been so much better if more time and dedication went into it.
Lenore is my favorite character.

The best scene in S4! So sad Lenore and Hector's ending was so pointlessly tragic, they should have given them a happy one after all this build up and what they both went through!
No I get it. Lenore just lost everything and the one thing she had left, Hector, she was going to outlive as well, and then she'd truly have nothing. Guess she figured she wouldn't wait for time to take everything away again and went out in her own terms.

@@HMASbogan: That was just writer's nonsense to hurt the fans. When he was giving miracle happy endings to Dracula and others, he didn't have to give Lenore and Hector such depressive one. Besides, there was no need for Isaac to break his word in the first place and keep Lenore under house arrest.
A proper ending for her and Hector is working on peace between vampires and humans in Styria.
And even assuming Isaac broke his word anyway, Lenore and Hector could escape. That depressive ending was just so pointless which made it even worse.

This felt like a deep cultural exchange... I approve!
I love the way the relationship evolved here. It started out with Lenore being in control and using that power to essentially abuse Hector. After some time, Lenore came to respect Hector, but their relationship remained with a power imbalance. Eventually, the power dynamic flipped but, because Hector is a legitimately good person, he didn't seek to abuse Lenore or extract revenge from her; he even did what he could to make her comfortable in the changing world.
In the end, Hector couldn't rescue Lenore from her own nature. She needed control and power to be happy, and she couldn't have that anymore. The love of another person wasn't enough to fill that gap, so she took her own life.
Lenore is very Shakespearean in her tragedy: she started out full of pride and hubris, experienced a downfall that she brought upon herself, and received no happy ending.
