The thing is it was originally meant to be a series of movies instead of seasonal. This is why the first season was only 4 episodes: it was supposed to be a 2 hour long movie.
The reason seasons 1&2 are short is that it wasn't originally a show. It was going to be 3 movies, but Netflix thought it'd be cheaper to animate 4 television episodes(season 1) than a 90 minute movie. Essentially, in episode form, there are frames of animation that can be reused throughout an entire show's runtime, premier to finale, whereas anime movies often require unique frames and animations all throughout the runtime, which often leads to greater expense.

I think there's a scene in an episode in the season that explains why. Something about rapidly growing up in his youth (as in physically maturing fast) then mix in his family drama. Trevor was essentially his first friend outside the castle. So he's acting out the childhood friendship he never had.
Well at this point Alucard is like 15 years old but ages rapidly. He's a philomath and more well read than most humans, but he's not developed emotionally. This is before we see the broken and depressed Alucard of Symphony.

I love Sypha int his show, she is cute, gorgeous and totally badass, the fight that she had agisnt Dracula was amazing I was like "Damn,she is badass" she super op and I'm perfectly fine with that.
I just love that Alucard is and looks like the stereotypical coolest, stoic Anime character but then he is as foul mouthed, silly and funny as Trevor. This scene and when he starts mocking Trevor and Sypha with the little rag dolls was so funny and truthfully made the show so much better.
one thing I'm really impressed is how they convey their emotion so well. like here even with all these insults, you can tell they were in buddy mood and joking. but their tones became noticeably but not glaringly different in Belmont estate enough to tell that they were being kinda harsh and upset

Their friendship and brotherhood is great!!! Very humanistic to have such dialogue in this series. I don’t think the Nocturne series can top this original series.
I love Sypha so much, she's this child friendly innocence that makes up for this show's dark, mature and depressing nature, not that it's a bad thing in of itself I'm just saying Sypha's light more than makes up for this show's dark; it's a type of character we rarely seen in adult shows/movies/games. And this btw is just an unpopular opinion of mine, but I'd like to see Sypha in a PG or PG-13 rated show like the upcoming Zelda remake, I feel like she'd blend in well. (I mean hey if Colossus can be in the R-rated Deadpool movie, I can't see why Sypha can't be in something geared for a broader audience)
She's meant to be the light in the show. Trevor has had a hard life he's from a cursed bloodline that will fight dracula as long as he's around. Alucard is the son of dracula he's has it the worst he lost both his mother and father. He's pretty much immortal any friendship he makes they will all get old and die . He's destined to be alone plus he has had to kill father twice in order to his father twice in order to save the world. Sypha is an outcast just like trevor and alucard society doesnt understand and shuns them for being different. If you notice the 2 females in this show Lisa and Sypha bring joy and happiness to the male counterparts.

Coorscajunrice curse of Darkness is a direct sequel to Castlevania 3 which the show is based on they already have taken liberties with this show to begin with.
Man returning to this series again makes me realise that my current DnD character is just a Gender Swapped Trevor, even down to the backstory and how it was implemented into the campaign. Shit, I knew I wasn’t being original but I had no idea how much of an influence this show had on my creativity. God I want Season 4 so badly!
No worries. I think it happens a lot. I actually wrote in a similar backstory that I later realized I had taken inspiration from a Clamp manga series I grew up with. They were even still blond and a generally cheery attitude and no desire to return to their old home and a sense of deep survivors guilt and suspicion they are bad luck to everything they care about. They even had a twin. Thing is, I read the series (and watched the anime) so long ago that it took some time and a couple months of sessions for me to realize.
This scene is one of my favorite character interaction scenes in all of TV. It's just so real. They rib into each other hard but it's all in good fun and they both known that.
Ironic that Alucard is the one insisting that they're not children since his mother first met Dracula 21 years before the main events of the series. Yes, I know he matures fast but only physically. Mentally he can be no older than 21, though it's probably closer to 18-19.
He acts pretty mature so I'd say he's above 25 mentally plus he was raised by Dracula and his doctor mom. Being educated by both and raised to be mature as a high class vampire.
Humor in this series is top notch, especially between these two. Best bromance ever. x'D Moment of silence for Sypha having to keep these two in line lol.

At the rate they are doing things, next season might even have 12 episodes... But that would also mean it would take a much longer time before it becomes available.

The thing is it was originally meant to be a series of movies instead of seasonal. This is why the first season was only 4 episodes: it was supposed to be a 2 hour long movie.
The reason seasons 1&2 are short is that it wasn't originally a show. It was going to be 3 movies, but Netflix thought it'd be cheaper to animate 4 television episodes(season 1) than a 90 minute movie. Essentially, in episode form, there are frames of animation that can be reused throughout an entire show's runtime, premier to finale, whereas anime movies often require unique frames and animations all throughout the runtime, which often leads to greater expense.
Season 2 was really rushed, they should have taken more time with it.
That last bit of dialogue made me think this was abridged! I need to watch this at some point.

This one is quite unique with no chosen one or super galaxy universe ending ability. No harems and the generic he cant compete in the beginning then shit nobody can stop him now. I really dont miss this one.... the sasuke naruto relationship. Like after they make up. He left and thats it. He stopped chasing him. Like wtf. The build up over nothing. Well thats my opinion at least.

This and so the start of a wonderful bromance begins bit is what sold me on this show. The moment I reached this bit was just like yea, I'm gunna fkn love this

I'm a bit weirded out that stoic and mournful Alucard is so cheeky. He's pretty much what I imagine pirate Grant Dynasty would be like.
I think there's a scene in an episode in the season that explains why. Something about rapidly growing up in his youth (as in physically maturing fast) then mix in his family drama.
Trevor was essentially his first friend outside the castle. So he's acting out the childhood friendship he never had.
Too bad they just completely forgot about Grant. I was really hoping he would show up sometime soon.

I just love that Alucard is and looks like the stereotypical coolest, stoic Anime character but then he is as foul mouthed, silly and funny as Trevor. This scene and when he starts mocking Trevor and Sypha with the little rag dolls was so funny and truthfully made the show so much better.
one thing I'm really impressed is how they convey their emotion so well. like here even with all these insults, you can tell they were in buddy mood and joking. but their tones became noticeably but not glaringly different in Belmont estate enough to tell that they were being kinda harsh and upset

Yep.. That's one of the Biggest reasons why Sypha is my favourite character on the Show.
I love Sypha so much, she's this child friendly innocence that makes up for this show's dark, mature and depressing nature, not that it's a bad thing in of itself I'm just saying Sypha's light more than makes up for this show's dark; it's a type of character we rarely seen in adult shows/movies/games.
And this btw is just an unpopular opinion of mine, but I'd like to see Sypha in a PG or PG-13 rated show like the upcoming Zelda remake, I feel like she'd blend in well. (I mean hey if Colossus can be in the R-rated Deadpool movie, I can't see why Sypha can't be in something geared for a broader audience)
She's meant to be the light in the show. Trevor has had a hard life he's from a cursed bloodline that will fight dracula as long as he's around. Alucard is the son of dracula he's has it the worst he lost both his mother and father. He's pretty much immortal any friendship he makes they will all get old and die . He's destined to be alone plus he has had to kill father twice in order to his father twice in order to save the world. Sypha is an outcast just like trevor and alucard society doesnt understand and shuns them for being different. If you notice the 2 females in this show Lisa and Sypha bring joy and happiness to the male counterparts.

Man returning to this series again makes me realise that my current DnD character is just a Gender Swapped Trevor, even down to the backstory and how it was implemented into the campaign. Shit, I knew I wasn’t being original but I had no idea how much of an influence this show had on my creativity. God I want Season 4 so badly!

No worries. I think it happens a lot. I actually wrote in a similar backstory that I later realized I had taken inspiration from a Clamp manga series I grew up with. They were even still blond and a generally cheery attitude and no desire to return to their old home and a sense of deep survivors guilt and suspicion they are bad luck to everything they care about. They even had a twin. Thing is, I read the series (and watched the anime) so long ago that it took some time and a couple months of sessions for me to realize.
Who else just finished season 3 and misses these guys,

This scene is one of my favorite character interaction scenes in all of TV. It's just so real. They rib into each other hard but it's all in good fun and they both known that.

The fights were ok but the comedy, characters, story, and the Trevucard/Trypha moments is what really drew me to the show.

Ironic that Alucard is the one insisting that they're not children since his mother first met Dracula 21 years before the main events of the series. Yes, I know he matures fast but only physically. Mentally he can be no older than 21, though it's probably closer to 18-19.

He acts pretty mature so I'd say he's above 25 mentally plus he was raised by Dracula and his doctor mom. Being educated by both and raised to be mature as a high class vampire.
