Lots of interesting homes today! Listing agent photographers, please open closet doors and shower curtains! If my Texas barrier island home gets swept away in a hurricane, I might consider relocating in Mississippi.
I just found this channel this week probably because i had been searching for ultra affordable homes in Mississippi for under $50,000. People are tired of paying on a 30 year mortgage to buy a house that takes over 70% of their disposable income. Mississippi seems to have the highest number of these types of homes but you have to be very cautious as alot of these homes need alot of work. They aren't just basic fixer uppers. If you're happy with paying $75,000 but have to put another $30,000 into the house then it's really not affordable. You need move in ready for less than $60,000 in my opinion. 10 acres of land doesn't mean anything if the house is falling apart and needs a ton of rehab.
There's a special place in hell for whoever textured up all those walls (AND the ceilings🤨) in that first house shown. Poor house - it's beautiful and deserves better.
I am familiar with most of those towns. All of them except the last will be fairly close to UMMC hospital in Jackson, and the big Veterans Hospital nearby. Something to consider in retirement! Also, Mississippi has zero property tax for seniors and the disabled, up to $75K appraised value.

Nice content, I'm restoring I house in Cleveland built around 1900. The city has no real clue when it was built, their info only goes back to 1930's.

I didn't know that about the exemption on the property tax. The $75,000 cut off is a valuable number that i'll want to stay under when i buy.
