I love rice & potatoes I’m just having a hard time with making it taste good without it getting too boring. I use to use butter & oils which tasted great but now I use seasonings & veggie broth & it’s getting boring 🥱
I find baby potatoes a bit boring on their own, and I find a raw salad on its own a bit lacking in energy-sustaining power (garlic, cucumber, tomato, spring onion, spinach, celery...), but if I combine them and add some chick peas then I find it works and I eat it almost every day and it is seems to keep me going. I don't use any dressing, I just squeeze half a lime on top, and sprinkle some turmeric and cayenne. I chop the potatoes in small pieces and microwave on high for about 12 minutes, and make the salad during those 12 minutes. And it is probably one of my favourite meals along with oats, banana, blueberries and soy milk for dessert, and breakfast.

@@yuppers1 Yet others say sugars feed cancer and carbs turn into a form( not refined) sugar. Fat blocks insulin's ability to allow the sugar to enter your muscle cells. So diabetes shows up as high blood sugar. Work on the diet change with your doctor and be sure to monitor your glucose levels carefully. And do whole grains only, not refined grains
As a starch-based dieter, I would say I agree with the fact that raw is more nutritious since there are some nutrients being destroyed by cooking. The idea of cooked starch-based diet is that it is easy to introduce them for those beginners in whole food plant based diet. Despite that raw diet has more nutrients and benefits, cooked starch-based diet has high success rate when implemented to patients due to its easy adapatability, and taste buds don't need to adjust much. For example, Asians eat rice and meat. They can just still eat rice and swap meat with vegetables compared to just completely replace their meal with raw vegetables.
@@greenleafyman1028 Thanks for the comment. All that you said make sense. There still lacks studies comparing different kinds of plant-based diets. Also, it is easier to get sufficient calorie intake on a cooked starch-based diet compared to a high raw diet. I'm still investigating for myself, but somehow, I feel that raw foods are easier to digest, personally. Instead of cooked oats, for example, I switched to raw sprouted oats. However, many starches can not be eaten raw or sprouted. Healthy eating is a journey of investigation and discovery...
Aztec and Maya ate maize, teosinte, beans, squash, avocado, chillis, honey, and hunted mammoths, mastodons, deer, ducks, geese, fish, paca, turtles, dogs and mallards. The ones who had 90% starch diet had the lowest life expectancy, the ones who had the most animal foods that hunted lived the longest along with the tamales, beans, vegetables, meats and fish they consumed with some nice drinks like pulque.
Shouldn't the starch be resistant starch in order to be healthy? In other words cooked and cooled rice, potatoes, corn, etc. Otherwise eating those items without converting them to resistant starch may cause blood sugar problems.
