  • I’m this video, I show how I replaced the Wiper Linkage / Motor assembly on my 2018 Jeep JK Sahara Altitude Wrangler. This is an easy replacement for anyone with basic knowledge of hand tools.
    Cost to perform this myself.
    Wiper linkage with motor: $208.26
    Shipping of part: $44.32
    Grand total: $252.58
    -
    If I had the dealership perform the work, I was quoted $870.00….. $300 for parts and $570 for labor and taxes and other odd fees.
    -
    Good luck, Jeepers!

      I could not believe how much they wanted in labor! It was such an easy job to do that I was appalled at the dealership cost.

    Good work man. Way to save a lot of money. Mine just started to make a grinding noise. Your video really helped me! Thankyou... Same year by coincidence.

      Thing sounded like a damn freight train when I turned it on. It is an easy job that anyone with basic knowledge of hand tools can perform. Good luck my friend.

    Just had to do the same thing on my 2018. The failure was a motor full of water. Bad o ring on assembly. Dont buy the linkage if only the motor is bad, you will save money. Only take out the push pins under the hood. The ones on the top dont need to come out and you could scratch the paint takeing them out.

      I got my wiper assembly at www.jeepchryslerdodgeramparts.com
      I also get them at Quadratec, Extreme Terrain and AM OffRoad.

    Did it make noise when you used the rear wiper too? Is there another motor on the back or?

    • @CAFETIBURON
      @CAFETIBURON  หลายเดือนก่อน

      The back is a separate motor than the front. The back motor is mounted in the box on the back glass.

    Did u get a blown fuse first before your motor went out?

    • @CAFETIBURON
      @CAFETIBURON  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No, the motor was making a horrific screeching noise when i turned it on. If you got a blown fuse AFTER you put a new one in, be you do not have any bare wire. The insulation around the wire can get brittle due to weathering and could have exposed the metal wiring which can be hitting the metal of your Jeep. But if you change the motor and your wipers work fine after that, you should be ok.

      @@kg285get the hell outta here, really? Geez man, I am sorry. The TIPM just fail or was there a cause for it? I never heard of this being a problem, but after your comment, I looked it up and see there are a lot of rebuilders on the web. I hope it all works out for you, my friend.
