- As Edwin Diaz entered the game for the Mets against the Dodgers at Citi Field on Wednesday night, Timmy Trumpet was there to play “Narco” live to welcome Diaz to the mound before the Mets closer locked down the Dodgers in a 2-1 Mets victory.

@@danoneall4013 Being one of 5 guys EVER to strike out 54% of all hitters he's faced entitles him to whatever buildup they give him. And he's doing it NOW, when hitters are far better than prior eras. Every pitch he throws is must see TV.
@@danoneall4013 that may be true, but he is also having an all-time great season in this role. If he continues with this level of play, he will certainly be in the same conversation as Mo when people start asking the question of who you’d like to have on the mound to close a game out.

Endy Nimmo catch. Timmy Trumpet entrance. A healthy De'Goat going 7 innings. All at a time when the Mets are down in the dumps offensively, they can't sink any lower in their slump, their division lead hanging by a thin thread, and all of this while trying to tread water in a series against the best team in baseball. This game has to be an instant Mets Vault Classic. Win it all or not in 2022, I would still be thrilled to rewatch this when SNY replays it in a couple of years from now.
I don't care if the rest of the season is easy cakes. Tomorrow's game is a MUST win.

This has to be one of the moments of the year and what a year it's been so far. The Old TImers game, the 7-run 9th inning comeback against the Phillies along with the no-hitter. Now a World Series bid would REALLY make this a magical year!

@@MrDjdanv 1986 Game 7, Boston was up 3-0 in the bottom of the 6th inning, it was tied at 3 going into the bottom of the 7th, and it was a 1 run game after Boston batted in the 8th. It wasn't Buckner. It was John McNamara. That may have been the worst managerial job from two managers in postseason history.

the excitement this year is almost like 86, which was a fantastic year to be a mets fan, went to many games at shea. big party . I live in florida now so watch the games on tv, and see the same energy in the stands, the only other thing we need is the curly shuffle in the 7th inning stretch.

As a Dodgers fan, I tip my cap to the greatest intro song ever for a closer. I got to see the Gagńe era live many times and ‘welcome to the jungle’ has nothing on this.
What I think this has on Gagne and Mariano's "Enter Sandman" is that it's not a mainstream song by an artist everyone knows. Kinda makes it more powerful that you don't already have an association w. the song.

I can't stop watching this, and I cry every time that I watch it. It is so unique to have the crowd as quiet as they were, and then Timmy starts with the horn and it is so gladiator style. Its like Diaz is going to slay and the crowd just cheers it on. But I loved to see those who were actually dancing and not just recording on their phone. There video is no where near the production of this vid, which is so freaking awesome!
