My favorite line read in comedy is when Rodney Dangerfield spots Ted Knight in the pro shop, trying on the hat Rodney had just been trashing. Dangerfield does a double take and says, "it looks good on you, though" "The ocean, Bob?" is a close second
This sketch is a beautiful and 100% accurate representation of life as I experienced it as a Canadian teen in the late 80's. This belongs in the Smithsonian as far as I'm concerned.
@@Chalwa ... The only Megadeth t-shirt I ever owned was that exact one, Mary Jane... and I have a video of me throwing up at a party in 1989 and my friends carrying me in the door and my mom saying "Maybe you should brush your teeth or take a shower?" ... there's so many other little things too. Of course I'm drinking and watching this again and laughing.
@Sean O’ Deli So many in Windsor, ON got to listen to great music out of Detroit, I'm glad we had some cultural offerings to return. KITH is not quite Motown but they were original.
Is your profile pic of the rock your dad took you to? I think I see why drunk dad advice was your favorite, must bring back some memories 😁 just kidding! hehe but drunk dad was always my favorite sketch
I swear Tenacious D ripped this whole bit off for The Pick of Destiny. Being disobedient to his father and running away, the montage of him running from place to place while music plays, having a rock battle with Satan (separate sketch, same characters).
@@Malumbrus So I've been watching some other sketches and I think Tim and Eric ripped off the "Daves I know" sketch. But you might already know about that one.

This was my favorite Kids in The Hall skit! Growing up, my friends and I would use a lot of the lines from this skit..... Also the one where Bobby plays guitar against the devil, lol, A, B ,B, A, A.... LOL!!
I was too young when I first watched KITH to appreciate the humor. Watching this as an adult, I think it's hilarious. their sketches are still weird but I just find myself laughing. Way better than SNL.
Well both are from Lorne Michaels. I'd cut SNL some slack, think about how stupid fast those sketches come out, with a new host every week, and the majority sketches are live. That's a entirely different beast
@@Sabbathtage you're right about that. I just don't like SNL now. The best years were the early 90's with talent like Jan Hooks, phil hartman, Norm Macdonald, etc
These guys were my SNL. Maybe i was too young to watch them, but it taught us that no matter your sexuality , married, or whatever you do for a living… the best stories are the ones behind closed doors and we are all the same. A little crazy.
I just noticed that Bobby's mom gestures for his dad to calm down, but as soon as Bobby says he's ready, she gestures for him to get hit. Also, Scott is cracking up as Bruce pukes out that car window.
Kith was on at some ironically pivotal moments in my existence or rather “around” like when my sister told my dad she was dating a black guy and he went nuts, when my dad threw me into the screen door for shoving him when I couldn’t dye my hair, when I dropped out of college, dropped acid, called my dad from my apartment I paid for with tuition money. So many moments.
Great sketch! I came home from the movies one time and my mom asked "How was the movie?" and I said "It was fucking fantastic!" and she frowned at me and said "You know I don't like that word" and I said "Ok it was fucking awesome!", My mom laughed because the only thing she likes better than clean language is a smart ass retort.

This sketch is really fucking good. Oops! I mean, fine comedy abounds, mom.
Great comment 9 yrs ago, still great in 2024.
'The ocean, Bob?' is still one of the funniest line deliveries in comedy history...
I was busting up at THE OCEAN BOB
but you don't know anyone in the ocean Bob
Yes… gets me EVERY TIME!

I believe it!
The ocean, Bob? Bob, you don't know anyone in the ocean.
One of the top 5 - love it!
this show kept me sane growing up.
when they only started showing at 2pm, I'd cut school to watch it.
this was, of course before dvds...
Yeah- they would put two episodes on in a row on Comedy Central.
@Sean O’ Deli So many in Windsor, ON got to listen to great music out of Detroit, I'm glad we had some cultural offerings to return. KITH is not quite Motown but they were original.
@Sean O Deli i used to watch kids in the hall when i skipped school as a kid, good times, the best of times.
The ham miniseries is by far the masterpiece of the series. Though drunk dad will always have a place in my heart.

She was in a couple KITH sketches. She also played a minor part in the KITH movie Brain Candy.
Now do Lyle?
Dude that's that chick from Cube. Awesome movie. She's less of a babe in that movie tho.
