That's the thing Vegito is part Vegeta, and he is not pure evil but has evil tendencies. That attack should have worked. Just because they fuse doesn't mean that the evil is erased. Even if it didn't one shot him, it should've cause significant damage.

Alot of people don't realize that the ONLY reason Vegito toyed around with Buu as in the manga, and the series Dub / subbed. He wanted Buu to absorb him so he could free everyone inside. It was a planned event he wanted Buu to do.
Technically, Gohan should have ended Buu long before any of them were absorbed by Buu, to begin with. It would have been a shorter Buu arc had they went that route. But i get it, it was mainly for the filler and drama to draw it out to the end with Kid Buu being erased by the spirit bomb.

When in fact, he does get beat a lot more by some really powerful villains. I am not saying any of the characters are immune. It just sucks they wrote vegeta like he is.
I love the ending where Vegito fistbump the petrified smiling Gogeta. He know it was close and rather than making a quip about how he is stronger of the two like how I imagined he would, him fistbumping basically says "GG, man. Could have gone either way.".
Well Vegito is slightly stronger due to the rival boost but he holds an unlimited amount of respect for Gogeta regardless because in the end of the day they are nearly the same.

Comparing this with the first Dragon Ball 3D episode that was Goku VS Superman, it's insane to see how far that Death Battle had come in terms of animation within the span of a decade, not to mention how stellar Season 9 was quality wise. Keep em' coming DB team!

Damn, I just noticed Gogeta went Blue Evolved at the very end while struggling against the Kamehameha... while Vegito went Kaio-Ken to finish him off... that's some nice attention to detail. Props to the animator.
That was awesome! If you compare this to the first Goku vs Superman you can really see how much more fluid and detailed these 3D Death Battles have gotten too. Great episode to end the season on!

This Death Battle match had to have the most wholesome yet bittersweet ending ever, the two versions of the fused Saiyans giving it their all into the final attacks they have left up their sleeves, Gogeta going Blue Evolved, and Vegito finishing him off with the Blue Kaioken, and the bro-fist at the end is just the icing on the cake.
Actually in terms of personality Vegito was never overconfident and goofy. His whole fight during Buu was to get in buu's head to mess with him so he could purposely get absorbed so he could free all the people he stole. Gogeta on the other hand was 100% a goofball during omega shenron
Gogeta had a reason for being goofy as well. He was trying to provoke Omega to fire his Negative Karma Ball so that Gogeta could turn it into positive energy, and then kick it into orbit, thereby freeing Earth from the negative energy of the Shadow Dragons. After that, that's when he got serious and tried to kill Omega with his Big Bang Kamehameha.
@@teddythekingofbears How would Gogeta even know about that? Also Gogeta used his Ki to turn the negative ki into positive Ki so he wouldn't need Omega's attack at all but use his own which is what he did. So GT Gogeta didn't need to act silly.

Yee. And similarly to Gogeta VS Omega Shenron, the goal was to get rid of all the minus energy FIRST, put all the work into baiting Omega so Gogeta could pull off the deed, and then delete him. He just ran out by that time for the secondary goal.
So in the end, Potara edged out the dance. Definitely an interesting way of explaining the key difference between the two: Fusion dance needing both individuals to be equal in power while Potara allows a fusion regardless of any difference in power (and the difference in time too). A nice fight to wrap up this season.
plus, it was stated the fusion dance brings out both their max combined, but the potara fusion, combines their max and multiplies it many times over. though the movie gave that latter rule to gogeta for some reason, they keep changing the canon

This video is flat out a stereotype and so many biased things. Akira toriyama flat out already confirmed 4 years ago when broly movie came out that gogetas power level is on another plane of existence, vegitos power level got shafted in super and that's the current show right now
In the Buu saga the reason Vegeto played with Super Buu is cause he wanted to be absorbed into him to save the people who was trapped inside instead of killing Buu right out. Also true the Elder Kai did say unlike the fusion dance that has the restrictions of the stronger one naming Goku having to lower his power level to match Vegeta it weakens to form unlike the Earrings that allow both Vegeta and Goku to not have such a restrictions to the fusion at all and can fuse at full power without weakening the form.
This is also the same reason why SSJ4 Gogeta played with Omega, he wanted to draw out his negative karma ball to convert all the minus energy into positive energy and free the earth from it's corroding grasp. Omega's negative energy was so strong that the dude could literally just sit on a toilet and the entire universe, including the world of the Kais would have been corroded and obliterated just with him existing, SSJ4 Gogeta needed to get rid of that so he joked around to irritate him enough to use his most powerful attack, he wasn't playing around just cause.

Personally. I think that actually seems like a weakness. We see with elder kai that the stronger being controls most of the fusion. Compared to fusion dance where the two people are true equals. So the fusion dance seems to have the best parts of both beings while potara is giving the stronger being powers of the weaker. But the stronger being is still in control including weaknesses like elder kai pervness.
I also don’t think that Gogeta in this scenario would even try to target the earrings in the first place cause knowing Goku and Vegeta they’d want a proper battle with Vegito and no cheap wins
True, but one of the specific rules of DB is that when it comes to the actual conclusion, they're treating things as though moral limiters come off. Otherwise battles with characters who refuse to kill wouldn't really work.

Vegito: Tends to have a more confident, sometimes cocky personality, often taunting enemies. Characteristics reflect the rivalry between Goku and Vegeta. Gogeta: Generally portrayed as more serious and focused on efficiently defeating the opponent, especially in his "Dragon Ball Super: Broly" appearance.
As a Dragon Ball fan this battle brought tears of joy to my eyes. The choreography, the score, the behavior, it's almost exactly on point with how Toriyama would do. I knew Vegito would win, however Gogeta is still my favorite.
That's cap, the choreography was painful compared to any actual fight directed by Toriyama. They did step up the fight quality from normal but death battles most enjoyable part of their videos remains the intros and explanations.
@We All Laugh Down Here This isn't 100% accurate... TECHNICALLY, Kid Buu was stronger (more ruthless at the very least and was relentless against Goku) and only lost because of the Super Spirit Bomb. If Goku hadn't been able to charge the attack and if Buu wasn't playing with Vegeta, he would have most likely won
It's interesting to note that at the very last moment, just before Gogeta's dragon fist connected, Vegito used kaioken. This would have given him ample power to completely overwhelm Gogeta, assuming their power levels at SSB were very close if not identical. It's too bad Gogeta didn't also use kaioken at the last second.
Gogeta was actually using Blue Evolved during that final clash. As we see in Super, Blue Evolved and KiokenX20 were equal to each other. So Gogeta was overpowering Vegito until the last second, where the X20 Kamehameha overwhelmed Gogeta and he used up all his energy, turning him to stone.

As you said, blue evolved and kx20 are equivalent in terms of power, so the only result, if Vegito used kx20 at the last second, should've been a simple clash of powers. That or both would have turned to stone. Even if Vegito was very slightly stronger than Gogeta, a tiny difference in power would not have secured a victory. We've seen it several times throughout the series that power is not always the deciding factor, especially one so small in difference. Ex., Perfect Cell with zenkai boost vs injured ss2 Gohan. Even if both were equal prior to Gohan's injury, Cell should have beaten Gohan after the latter was injured, but he still lost because plot armor. Also, I'm not so sure Gogeta was using blue evolved. Every transformation was clearly highlighted and defined, so there's no way blue evolved wouldn't be. What you saw, the slight shade of darker blue hair color, was likely a simple method to further tell the two apart aside from their clothing.

I do believe they mischaracterized Vegito's personality against Buuhan. Everything Vegito did was part of his plan to to Buu to absorb him to unfuse and remove all the absorbed people from him. He appeared to be playing with him, but everything was in fact deliberate for that exact outcome.
Also, the Vegito never winning a fight is inaccurate af. Ask someone who fights professionally or even been in a fight in general do you need to kill or even knock someone out to win the fight? If that’s the case, Gogeta didn’t beat Broly or Omega Shenron.

This Death Battle match had to have the most wholesome yet bittersweet ending ever, the two versions of the fused Saiyans giving it their all into the final attacks they have left up their sleeves, Gogeta going Blue Evolved, and Vegito finishing him off with the Blue Kaioken, and the bro-fist at the end is just the icing on the cake.
Actually in terms of personality Vegito was never overconfident and goofy. His whole fight during Buu was to get in buu's head to mess with him so he could purposely get absorbed so he could free all the people he stole. Gogeta on the other hand was 100% a goofball during omega shenron
Gogeta had a reason for being goofy as well. He was trying to provoke Omega to fire his Negative Karma Ball so that Gogeta could turn it into positive energy, and then kick it into orbit, thereby freeing Earth from the negative energy of the Shadow Dragons. After that, that's when he got serious and tried to kill Omega with his Big Bang Kamehameha.
@@teddythekingofbears How would Gogeta even know about that? Also Gogeta used his Ki to turn the negative ki into positive Ki so he wouldn't need Omega's attack at all but use his own which is what he did. So GT Gogeta didn't need to act silly.

So in the end, Potara edged out the dance. Definitely an interesting way of explaining the key difference between the two: Fusion dance needing both individuals to be equal in power while Potara allows a fusion regardless of any difference in power (and the difference in time too).

In the Buu saga the reason Vegeto played with Super Buu is cause he wanted to be absorbed into him to save the people who was trapped inside instead of killing Buu right out. Also true the Elder Kai did say unlike the fusion dance that has the restrictions of the stronger one naming Goku having to lower his power level to match Vegeta it weakens to form unlike the Earrings that allow both Vegeta and Goku to not have such a restrictions to the fusion at all and can fuse at full power without weakening the form.
This is also the same reason why SSJ4 Gogeta played with Omega, he wanted to draw out his negative karma ball to convert all the minus energy into positive energy and free the earth from it's corroding grasp.
Omega's negative energy was so strong that the dude could literally just sit on a toilet and the entire universe, including the world of the Kais would have been corroded and obliterated just with him existing, SSJ4 Gogeta needed to get rid of that so he joked around to irritate him enough to use his most powerful attack, he wasn't playing around just cause.

Personally. I think that actually seems like a weakness. We see with elder kai that the stronger being controls most of the fusion. Compared to fusion dance where the two people are true equals. So the fusion dance seems to have the best parts of both beings while potara is giving the stronger being powers of the weaker. But the stronger being is still in control including weaknesses like elder kai pervness.
I also don’t think that Gogeta in this scenario would even try to target the earrings in the first place cause knowing Goku and Vegeta they’d want a proper battle with Vegito and no cheap wins

Gogeta: Generally portrayed as more serious and focused on efficiently defeating the opponent, especially in his "Dragon Ball Super: Broly" appearance.
As a Dragon Ball fan this battle brought tears of joy to my eyes. The choreography, the score, the behavior, it's almost exactly on point with how Toriyama would do. I knew Vegito would win, however Gogeta is still my favorite.

That's cap, the choreography was painful compared to any actual fight directed by Toriyama. They did step up the fight quality from normal but death battles most enjoyable part of their videos remains the intros and explanations.

@We All Laugh Down Here This isn't 100% accurate... TECHNICALLY, Kid Buu was stronger (more ruthless at the very least and was relentless against Goku) and only lost because of the Super Spirit Bomb. If Goku hadn't been able to charge the attack and if Buu wasn't playing with Vegeta, he would have most likely won
It's interesting to note that at the very last moment, just before Gogeta's dragon fist connected, Vegito used kaioken. This would have given him ample power to completely overwhelm Gogeta, assuming their power levels at SSB were very close if not identical. It's too bad Gogeta didn't also use kaioken at the last second.
Gogeta was actually using Blue Evolved during that final clash. As we see in Super, Blue Evolved and KiokenX20 were equal to each other. So Gogeta was overpowering Vegito until the last second, where the X20 Kamehameha overwhelmed Gogeta and he used up all his energy, turning him to stone.

If Gogeta was using blue evolved, Vegito shouldn't have been able to overpower him even if he used kaioken x20. As you said, blue evolved and kx20 are equivalent in terms of power, so the only result, if Vegito used kx20 at the last second, should've been a simple clash of powers. That or both would have turned to stone.
Even if Vegito was very slightly stronger than Gogeta, a tiny difference in power would not have secured a victory. We've seen it several times throughout the series that power is not always the deciding factor, especially one so small in difference. Ex., Perfect Cell with zenkai boost vs injured ss2 Gohan. Even if both were equal prior to Gohan's injury, Cell should have beaten Gohan after the latter was injured, but he still lost because plot armor.
Also, I'm not so sure Gogeta was using blue evolved. Every transformation was clearly highlighted and defined, so there's no way blue evolved wouldn't be. What you saw, the slight shade of darker blue hair color, was likely a simple method to further tell the two apart aside from their clothing.
@@woodenmetal2977 Gogeta's hair was shining at the end during the Dragon Fist, just like how Vegeta's hair shines when he uses Blue Evolved.
Also, this is Death Battle, SOMEONE has to lose (not counting a few rare exceptions) meaning that slight power difference between Gogeta and Vegito was a deciding factor, another being Vegito's longer time limit.

I do believe they mischaracterized Vegito's personality against Buuhan. Everything Vegito did was part of his plan to to Buu to absorb him to unfuse and remove all the absorbed people from him. He appeared to be playing with him, but everything was in fact deliberate for that exact outcome.
And Gogeta did the same thing against Omega Shenron in GT, baiting him into using the Negative Energy Ball so he can purify it and restore the world.

Also, the Vegito never winning a fight is inaccurate af. Ask someone who fights professionally or even been in a fight in general do you need to kill or even knock someone out to win the fight? If that’s the case, Gogeta didn’t beat Broly or Omega Shenron.
Uh... Vegito had absolutely no idea he'd unfuse by being eaten (and technically, that's not why he unfused, anyways; he just ran out of time). He did intend to beat Buu from the inside, but he still thought the fusion was permanent.
