When I was 6 my parents taught me checkers and then chess because of some pediatrician advice. I wasn't very patient at the time but I think it's natural for any child... It turns out I liked chess and started playing in school and some local tournaments. Too bad I stopped playing in competitions because it's something I don't suck at like other things. I never really stopped playing for fun though. Now I'm back on Lichess thanks to you and the chess bom that recently got me again.

Its fine being a newbie even after playing for so long :)

I love how much it reminds me of fire emblem, I just started learning and I'm realizing this game is so much more complex than I thought. The app I use gives me instructions on how each piece moves and how to play, but the more I learn, the more I see that I have much more to learn. I cant wait til I can play half as good as you. I just ditched yugioh and want a new hobby, and chess has always enticed me but never tried to learn.
I'm currently reading Nimzowitsch book, My system, and while I'm only at the very beginning of the book it already helped me tremendously, and I can testify of that because my level already improved but also because I can comprehend a little better games played by some experimented in chess such as this one, keeping a strong center control and pressured, moving a piece to the right square to win a tempo or some tempi, prophylaxis, liquidation, freeing moves... I'm pretty sure by the end of the book I will be way better. And I strongly advise for people who want to be better at chess to study extensively chess principles, and to not restrict yourself to learning opening lines, tactics and endgame theory. This is necessary, but the most obscure middlegame and studying the whole breadth and depth of chess principles, especially if you think you know them, is the key to a better understanding of chess, not only a better understanding of the game as such but rather an improved vision of the art of chess. I think they're both winning and the choice is more a matter of style. In your line black gets two pieces for the queen which is roughly the same as winning one piece, which he accomplished at the beginning of his chosen line, only his queen was more active after taking in e6. Hope that helps
Just wanted to comment on the move 13. Nxg7+ Had black responded with Kb8, the rook would have been safe and white would drop both knight and bishop, which equalizes the pieces +-pawns.

Why didn't you go knight f7 in 10:16? You would fork both rooks and the queen and either way he would loose at least a rook while keeping all the tension. Though it would be best if you would go queen f3 in the previous move

I think after Bf4, Qd5 is best. It frees the queen from a potential discovered attack and offers a trade of queens. Diffusing the tension built up in the center.

Why didn't you go knight f7 in 10:16? You would fork both rooks and the queen and either way he would loose at least a rook while keeping all the tension. Though it would be best if you would go queen f3 in the previous move

I think after Bf4, Qd5 is best. It frees the queen from a potential discovered attack and offers a trade of queens. Diffusing the tension built up in the center.
