As I am watching this surprise find of a video, we are day two without power here north of Houston after a mere CAT 1 (!) and I decided to bring out my Vickers hand crank and at least get the table mat size done of one of the blocks. So stinking cute! I had to finger press everything but tonight we will turn on the outdoor grill and cook pizzas and at least save them from the freezer. AND will put on my cast iron ancient iron to heat on the grill and press it down better. How fun!
Thank you for this informative video. I just recently started following your videos. I find it is easy to follow your instructions. Your attention to detail is very thoughtful.
I just came across your channel this morning looking for some of my regular videos, which I did not find, so I decided to watch yours. I am super glad I did because I would have made a horrible mess of trying to make this one on my own! I am left handed so I struggle with cutting and reading those rulers. I have to do it upside down or backwards and it can be so confusing sometimes. I have tried to learn to cut with my right hand and that never ends well. This will take me awhile to cut because I will have to set it up like the photos and then flip it to cut it each and every time. It will be tedious I’m sure, but knowing this ahead of time will definitely help me. I will know that I have to do it like the pattern shows. Thanks for getting this video out so quickly so that we all didn’t make a mess of things from the beginning. I have subscribed and look forward to more of your information packed videos! Thanks!
Thanks, Kelly! Beautiful job and clear instructions. And special thanks for getting this posted so quickly! I already had all my strips sewn together, and just getting started on cutting with the little diamond ruler. I know that on one strip set I’ve cut two pieces with the wrong orientation, but I think I can change it for the rest of the strip. I’ll lose a bit of space since it was so tight to begin with, but if I need to I can use the two honeybun strips that were left over to create some replacements. Thanks, Kelly, for saving me on all the rest! I’ll definitely be more careful- and use another viewer’s tip about painter’s tape on the ruler! Happy Fourth, everyone!
You got me so excited that I cut it all and have sewn about half just by showing a few blocks when choosing your background.❤ The worst part of precuts like this is all the lint-I did what you did and was constantly rolling lint from my table and me!
I didn’t feel like tackling this pattern even though it is beautiful. I chose a pattern by Cory Yoder called Turnstile that uses a honey bun. I can’t wait to use these fabrics ❤ Thank you for sharing your tips and mistakes.
Thank you so much for helping me read that mistake. I had Already zone two sets of strips together and started cutting them out to make some sample blocks or what I thought was gonna be Sample’s I didn’t realize I was gonna have to have so many different scraps to make a block. Not watching the orientation of my ruler so you’ve probably present prevented me from making a whole lot of horrible mistakes, especially since I’m left-handed And I don’t see very well. I went ahead and put some painters tape on the top of the router so I know how it is to be oriented each time. Thank you so much! You probably saved my quilt. I love the fact that you help me prevent mistakes in my soul sample boxes thank you thank you thank you.
