Final Audio D8000 Pro Final Review (Is it the Best Headphone Money Can Buy?)

  • The D8000 pro is a magical headphone experience and one that rewards you with a high level of reward. This headphone will scale and scale with absolutely and change you make in your system from cables to the amplifier and everything else.
    It is brutal and unforgiving but it is mostly an absolute pleasure once you truly find the best pairing equipment.

    Excellent review...Hi end gear to review hi end headphones sounds like a no brainer, but the amount of reviewers who don't seem to understand this is crazy, so thanks for this.

      Thanks for the compliment. It's a tough one sometimes with headphone reviews, especially for this headphone as it definitely wouldn't get my full praise if I paired it with budget amps like the THX

    I use the D8000 Pro with my AK SP8000 together with the AK PA10 and I find this compo to be absolutely gorgeous

      @@BelieveHiFi All good my friend. Your review covered lots of information. And yes, the better Dac/amp combo you can invest to these ultra expensive hps the better. They need mega fast processing speed to Shine. Otherwise they will sound just good, and not mind boggling experience . Well done 👍

    How are they vs susvara? I was close to getting the susvara but I need something easier to drive because I travel alot. I use Fiio m15 as my main source when traveling which can put out almost 1w and has ak4499 dac chips. I like a nuetral sound with slight sub bass boost. Currently have QDC Anole VX and love them but I want an over ear that I can also travel with.
    Side note, I got the final e5000 based on your review and they have been one of my favorite IEMs and sound better than my meze Empyrean's (wanted to love them but just not for me) for lush and warm sound that I got them for.

      Umm I think they wouldn't be my first choice unless you really had a really good Amp.
      I tried the Arya out of a few portables and thought it was pretty good.
      Other wise I really enjoyed the Audeze MX4 that are easy to drive if you want something lush and enjoyable.
      HAve you considered the 64Audio U12t?
      That is really an astonishingly good earphone that has an absolutely amazing FR ,detail, soundstage and everything. Truly one of my favorite pieces of audio gear

      I received my D8000 Pro yesterday and though it might be a bit early to say they really sound fantastic. I owned the Diana TC before and I find the D8000 Pro to be superior in every aspect. And I think they are going to further improve with over time. As a source I use the Astell & Kern SP3000 and the AK PA10. I find this to be a good pairing.

  • @MWeston2

    That was very enjoyable and the D8000 Pro is one for my crazy endgame list. :) Have you heard anything from the Abyss line such as the 1266 TC? I know it is a different sound than these or even the Susvara but curious on your opinion, if you were able to make one.

    • @BelieveHiFi
      @BelieveHiFi  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have heard them but the problem is not with my gear or in my setting so it is hard for me to give an exact comparison. I was very impressed with the TC especially its ability to deliver a satisfying punch and dynamics. I would love to AB the 2 sets back to back over a week or so so I could form a firm opinion.
      I still feel the D8k pro would beat it on being true to source and giving the greatest sense of "accuracy" but maybe the Phi-TC would be more enjoyable but I am totally speculating from my limited experience with the Phi-TC. I also believe the downstream gear matching would be different for best system synergy.

      @@BelieveHiFi Thank you for your words. I totally get what you are saying and you absolutely need to be in your own environment to make a clear decision on what you like best. I hope you get a chance to review some Abyss headphones one day and happy new year!!!

    Thanks for the review! I love my D8000 straight out of my Astell and kern SP2000. But after watching the review I think I will get a tube amp! Which one do you recommend? I didn’t quite understand the names you mentioned.

    • @BelieveHiFi
      @BelieveHiFi  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Standard d8000 or d8k pro?
      I feel the standard one isnt as in need of the tubes as the tuning is already a little rounder and warmer.
      However one of the Feliks audio tubes would go great with the standard d8k if its the d8k pro a good value option is the WA2 from woo audio as it really adds some wetness and body

    • @patrickclauson2828
      @patrickclauson2828 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I wonder if I can use the Astell and kern sp2000 as source connected to the wa2 or if I should get a dac and connect to computer.

      Probably because Final doesn't push it commercially hard enough like other brands do. So it doesn't get passed around reviewers that much.

    Do you know how this headphone to the Hifiman HE1000SE?

    • @BelieveHiFi
      @BelieveHiFi  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      In my opinion it is a step up for sure. Not only is it more accurate it also has a nicer tuning for enjoyment in my opinion and a better bass response to boot.
      However it is more demanding on what it takes to drive them close to their full potential so keep this in mind.
      The HE1000SE is very nice for detail though however for me I found myself looking above and below it at the susvara and the Arya when it came to my preferences and my gear synergy

    • @TheSPazCORE

      HE1000se is boring in my opinion. Get the Arya instead. D8000 Pro is significantly better
