Room-calibrated Genelec The Ones. Nothing beats the soundstage.

Such great reviews. Thank you. I’m choosing new studio monitors at the moment after years on old genelecs. Have you checked out the Hedd type 20?

In his review of "the one's" 8331a, he mentioned that they were superb studio monitors and were incredible for mix accuracy and detail, but, "for him" they weren't very good listening/musical audiophile speakers, for the genre of music he enjoys the most, (acoustic & vocal) albiet he chose the smallest model, I personally believe they are some of the best monitors on the planet, for him they weren't the best for listening so that is likely why they aren't on this list of audiophile monitors

      yeah was a close one....
I just felt for my pure enjoyment I couldn't quite get them in here.
Although at the price point for mixing and mastering I'd be hard pressed to go past them.

studio monitors vs hifi speakers, whats your opinion??

      Ummm, well...
In a nearfield situation its a very tough call as the active component makes it hard to value match..
The problem with most studio monitors is they are professional work tools and not engineered for enjoyment and I would argue sometimes not even for complete Neutrality.
BUT look I would say its VERY hard to beat the value of the Event Opals 2nd hand in a nearfield setup
