Can You DIY Murrini? With Minimal Equipment?

  • Great question, and if you've been watching my other fused glass videos, you probably know the answer. If not, watch this video for the answer.
    In this glass fusing video, I'll be making some simple murrini using a DIY stainless steel mould.

    The turquoise is one of my favorite colors. I saw your last video of your murrini process. I have not made my own yet.

    You could also use a white rod or a few stringers to get a circular shape in the center.

      Hi Jaye. Absolutely. Adding several will give you a more uniform multicolour cane. Good suggestion.

    Did you make your own murini mold? If not where did you get it.

      Hi Deb. Yes I did. It's just a piece of stainless beaten onto shape. If you can, get a local metal workshop to put a few corrugations in the sheet. Make the bottom of the curve around 6 mm diameter.
