- Yep, I'm blaming you for all my aches and pains. I know, I created the voting videos for this fused glass project, but you could have had some pity on me.
Just joking. This was a journey, cutting and fitting all those strips, but I enjoyed the process. There's nothing like working in my studio at 4 AM, music playing. I'm serious. It's very relaxing.
I hope you enjoy this fused glass project.

I love it. The shapes and surface together is so organic and beautiful. It’s heartening to see something designed essentially by a committee that in the hands of an excellent artist comes out so lovely. Cutting the strips with an uneven top edge makes it look so alive. The strip technique is tedious but worth it. Beautiful and unique.
Thank you Monica. Sometimes committees do work. 🙄 😁
I like it. I think the waves strips gave it a very nice organic look. I think trying something new would be fun.
Yes, I love that textured look and feel. It's very tactile. Makes you want to handle it.
I loved you showing something that has been requested. As artists we have ideas but I know I thrive on suggested things. It challenges me. Thank you so much. 😊
Thanks Deb. I'll have to do another poll at some time and see what we end up with then.
Love the end result Jeff! Colors are great!
Not sure I have the patience but thank you for sharing!
Once you get into it it does have a sort of calming effect. Though the back can get a bit much. Short bursts are good.
Jeff what a tremendous amount of work! Beautifully planned and executed, just wonderful! ❣
Thanks Margaret. I really appreciate your support and feedback.
Как интересно! Волнистые срезы дают такой красивый эффект! Не знала.
Спасибо
Beautiful job, I am sure this was very tedious work but it all came out perfect. The odds on that are very slim as we all know.🙂
Guess I was lucky. 😁
super fun piece! you have amazing patience and design sense, let's do another vote
I'll do my best.
Well done Jeff. Great job rising to the challenge! I would love to see you accept more challenges. I know personally I thrive on that and it helps me think outside the box and keeps those Creative juices flowing.
Thanks Donna. I'm always open to challenges, sort of 😁
I think this is going to be cool! Will comment again at the end! 😎💜🔥
Thanks for the early comment.
Turned out great! At the beginning I was unsure.
Hi Marilyn. Me to. 😁
What about something geometric with strips, triangles and circles in brighter colors (if you have them)? I am thinking Picasso-ish type design. That would be a feat. Jeff, this has been so much fun watching these great studies and experimental projects!
The other design that was voted on was more geometric. I think I will be doing that one sometime.
Wow, what a lot of work. You’ve inspired me to have a go at doing my own design using this approach.
Hi Carol. Have a look at this video and you'll see what I created using a design from a jumper. Absolutely, get inspired and give it a go. - th-cam.com/video/jIyAlNMat_0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=fjiwg85DD6zdiUfC
Great job Jeff. I admire your patience.
Thanks 👍
I wasn't keen on it early on, but in the end it looked pretty good and you did a great job.
I understand. The whole project seemed a little odd but the end result was well worth the effort.
Loved it. Yes, please do again.
Thanks Dave. It's on the list so keep an eye out.
Beautiful!
Thank you!
Love it! Great work and patience.
Thank you!
That is gorgeous!!!
Thank you Debbie. I appreciate that.
I stopped the video when you asked for a comment. My comment right now is that it looks like sooo much work but definitely a lot of talent to design.
Hi Gwen. Yep, a lot of slow work, but it worked out great.
Very beautiful! I love it.
Thank you! 😊
love it! yes play some more
Hi Cathey. Thanks, and I will try that process again. Just remind me if you think I've forgot. I get carried away often.
Great job . Love it.
Thanks Melanie.
Thanks!
Wow. Thank you so much. I really appreciate your support.
Love it!
Have you considered doing using the same technique but with the design being an image? Like a dog or horse, it would look a bit abstract.
Hi. Yes, and I did do a video like that a while back. You may find it interesting - th-cam.com/video/jIyAlNMat_0/w-d-xo.html
I finished the video and it is absolutely amazing. I’ve never tried the wave strip. It looked like you cut the waves randomly, no pattern? I might have to give this a try but on a much smaller scale!
Love it!!!
Thank you Catwoman.
Awesome!
Thanks Britt.
Ficou lindo ! 💕🌷💕🌷💕
Obrigado e estou feliz que você tenha gostado.
That was just a tiny spider! 😅
Yes, especially compared to the other ones we get around here. We've had a few about the size of my hand.
I would not like that at all… 🤣
What about doing something wit AI? I do have reservations about AI art in general, but it might also be an interesting subject to explore for a video. Maybe get 'seed words' from your regular viewers through comments, put these into a generator then try and make what comes up? Just an idea....not sure if it would work..love your videos, you have a great talent for glass working as well as presenting.
Hi Jonathan. I've tried that but the images it came up with were so complex or weird that they were undoable. Even when I asked for simple designs. I also tried a few generators and different words. But if someone can come up with an AI design they think will work I'm interested.
Hi Jeff I tried this project. I was so happy with it after the first firing, then I cut it to size and refired it to round edges. In the second firing it flooded all over and broke into many pieces. Not sure what I did wrong.
My second question is what kind of stencils would I use on Glass to sandblasting?
Hi Mark. Other than the slump, the only firing I did was the contour fuse. If you fired again then the extra heat work would be like firing the first time for longer. So any texture would start flattening. Just how much depends on the schedule. What type of firing was the second? Regards the breakage, if it left sharp edges it broke on the way down. If rounded edges it broke on the way up. Depending on this, it sound like you either ramped it up too quick or cooled it too fast. Can you post the schedule? For sandblasting, I use either vinyl for the Cricut machine, if using stickers then anything that's a bit hardy. I've tried even some paper stickers and they lasted okay. Just give the piece a light sandblast. The longer you go the more the stickers erode. You'll see that while you're doing it. Hope that all helps.
Beautiful!
Thank you Brenda.
