With all those steps, fusings and sandblastings, you’re a lot more patient than I am, Jeff. I loved following your processes to get to the beautiful end result. Although I prefer bright coloured pieces, your dark colour choices worked perfectly together. 😊 I always look forward to your experiments to think outside the box. 💡
When slumping bottles sometimes the smaller parts of the bottle or the tight edges create very sharp edges. I have an electric Rigid oscillating sander that also spins at high speed when not using it as a sander. I start with 80 grit and clean up the edge, then bring it back to a polish with 400 grit, all dry sanding. I think the piece is a work of art and is unique. If you didn't like the satin finish, I think it could be polished out if need be.
Hi Craig. I actually like the satin finish. In another video the whole piece is sating and I have a few others similar. I just didn't expect to be doing it with this piece. 😁
Hi Jeff, the centrepiece is the feature and I perhaps would not have done the extra Frit detail to help side pieces. But I love the colours. Great troubleshooting.
I liked the final piece, looks smart. You make great use of that sand blaster. Took a lot of firings, but I guess that was due to ironing out a few issues. Well done on sticking with it and getting a nice piece in the end.

Hi Jonathan. Yes, a few firings, but had to do them and I think it was worth it.
I really like the color combination & variation with the matte & gloss.
I also think the variation between the finishes and the patterns make the piece. It's dark, but it works.

Hi Carol. My kilns are all Paragon kilns. One is a CS16, another a Fusion 14 and the other a jewellery kiln (small chamber) can't remember the code.
