We have an old Henry - never let us down. I really hope Numatic International remain a wholly owned British company. British manufacturing companies are becoming a rare thing these days - Cadburys, RM, Rolls_Royce motors to name but a few that have been sold off. Quite often a company will claim to be British, then you read the small print and they are owned by some Chinese conglomerate.

Before extracting with George you can pre spray carpet cleaner and agitate with a drill brush first

I replaced my CT370 a month or so ago for the new switch layout, of course I got sent the old model and made sure it went straight back and that they ordered me the latest one.

Does the manual mention a tolerance for the suction?
The suction for this model states 2400 mmh2O which would be 94.488 inches of water, or 23.536 kpa.
Your gauge showed about 21.3 kpa (2172 mmh2O) about 10% less
Wonder how effective it'd be at sucking up the condensation from windows?
Which has the most suction this or the older version with the more powerful motor?

I live in the USA and I’ve been told that George is best vacuum you can get.., better than Dyson or Shark.
I live in a 605 foot one bedroom apartment. But I like to keep the carpets vacuumed.
The Shark vacuum I currently own is three years old and dying.
Would a George vacuum on Amazon for $500 be any better than a $300 Dyson?

You only use the pump switch when using George as a carpet/upholstery washer. For dry vacuuming and picking up liquids, you only need to use the suction motor.
Any idea what the pump pressure is?

Roger, how do you find that new floor tool? I have a Nuvac commercial style with it, and I cannot abide the floor tool because of the extra straight bit between the angled part of the connector and where it enters the part on the floor tool. Even on hard floors and short pile carpet I cannot get the tool to sit flat.
I do like the idea of a dry hose for George, but what a shame it's a short hose.
I also have a Henry Wash, which I bought to replace a Vax 6151 (which had replaced a George). I'm not blown away with it. Mine was one of the first of its type, as it came with no handle attached to the recovery bucket. This handle was soon added to later models, and although I don't use the cleaner with water very often, I don't half miss that handle when I do.
I found that the mould grows in the water trapped between the white solution bucket and the black lid. I eventually managed to separate the two parts (which was very hard to do as the steel handle did not want to come out) to clean them. Also. as time has progressed, the thin white plastic which forms the solution tank has become brittle & parts are snapping off.
I also find the wheeled cleaning head off my Vax works better than the fish tail supplied with the Henry, particularly when it comes to extracting water from carpets.
Another niggle I had was that the suction hose would turn at the machine end (which you would expect) but then the solution hose got twisted around it. This was easily rectified by drilling a small hole through the hose cuff and inserting a short, fat screw. This holds the hose tight and nothing gets twisted.
I still like the Henry Wash and like the look of your George, and would have one again as I think they are the best available, despite my gripes.
Do you mean the floortool that comes standard on Henry or George?
@@heeheeriah I mean the tool that comes with the cleaner in the video. Although I made reference to the Henry Wash, mine does not have a floor tool for dry cleaning (in fact it has no provision at all for dry cleaning).

I wish you would rate and compare vacuums instead of just unboxing. It would be much more useful if you gave some kind kf scorecard to help us decide what to buy
Just buy SEBO vacuum cleaners, Bissell carpet washers and avoid cordless and bagless. Don't watch tomorrow’s new video because it's another unboxing of a vacuum with a face.
@@ibaisaic thanks for the advice. Sometimes one also has to accept one can't afford those, so scorecards of also cheaper units would be a huge benefit on the channel
Currently I am working through a backlog of machines that I haven’t shown on my channel so I can sell them. Once I have the space and can locate all the cleaners I have, I may be able to do some comparison video with the cleaners I still have.
@@ibaisaic To clarify, I enjoy your videos, I find them entertaining, well presented, not rushed, and usefull for sure. I think though there is a massive gap and opportunity. Finding good reviews of vacum cleaners is really hard, especially from someone who reviews lots of vacuum cleaners, and not someone who has done like 2 reviews, with nothing to compare against. I don't think I've found another channel which has had the benefit of having had SO much experience with so many vacuum cleaners, and therefore I see your channel as perhaps the best channel that can put your vast experience to use where you can create a score card. Then one can start to compare vacuums with similar features and similar price brackets against each other, and you could score them on a number of criteria, like for example: Build Quality, ease of use, power, suction, stability (not falling over) , availabiltiy of spares, price of consumables, cord length, Dry performance, Wet performance, and overall impression/fit for purpose. These can then be built into an overall score within the category/price bracket. Its a bit of work, but you are so close already, and it may be worth your while to grow the channel if you are up for it.
@@mikelaurie3850before i bought my vacuum cleaner I searched high and low for spares and accessories. I’ve made sure that everything I could possibly need was easily available and I must say a numatic could’ve certainly fit the bill, though I was looking for a quiet vacuum and went with an electrolux instead. It really depends where you are in the world, what area you need to clean and any other features you might be looking for. You should be able to find reviews and video demonstrations too, and if you can’t then i’m afraid it’s a no buy you can be sure there won’t be much in the way of product support from the manufacturer.

You clearly did not watch the video because I showed that this George came with four bags. I was not taking the P, I was answering your question.
My silly landlord doesn't believe in a George, so not only did he use his existing Henry without a bag, he also used it to suck up water. Then he wondered when he came to do the vacuuming at the building where I live that water was pouring out of the exhaust vents!😂 Suffice to say, it refused to work again until I serviced it and handed him the repair invoice! So, as a warning: only use a vacuum cleaner designed for wet cleaning and spill pickup for doing that and NOT a dry vacuum cleaner!!!

I’m pretty sure I mention the wattage in the video, but if I don’t I have put the specifications below the video.
My thought too… can we have a 1200w Numatic rather than the 650w/800w that the EU mandates or are they still limiting their motors so they can sell to international markets?

good hoover absolute junk at seat or carpet cleaning the pump for the water cleaning has been replaced by numatic 2x under warranty also the spray nozzle clogs up blocks way to easy my george has sat in the shed for probably 3 years the next time it will probably see daylight is when i chuck it out as the hose for doing the carpets now has a split in it your lucky if i have done my carpets twice and car seats probably 8 or 9 times it leaves the seats absolute soaked luckily i have a proper bissel carpet cleaner now and the seats are dry in about 30mins to a hour my cheap titan wet/dry vac out of screwfix was i think £50 and it still works and is better than the george i bough as a "upgrade" 😂😮

I feel like numatics quality is going downhill. I know its cost saving keep them produced in the uk, but if they can produce them in china at the same quality as before then one does wonder...
If Numatic move all their production to China, they will lose a lot of customers. People aren’t happy that the Quick models are made in China, although Numatic have said that production will be moved to the UK when their factory expeansion is completed.
@@ibaisaic yes I agree, however the largest sign of cost reduction we can see is with the floor tools supplied with newer Henry’s. It looks like it was pulled straight off of a random chinesium vacuum. I love numatic and will always love my Henry hound (in my opinion the best cleaner they ever made) but it is sad to see the quality going down hill….
P.s- do you like your Miele with the electro brush? I want to import one but i dont know if its worth it ☺️
I have a few Miele vacuum cleaners with the electro brush but they are all in storage at the moment. As far as I can see, Miele only offer cylinders with electric heads in the USA and they are very expensive.

I haven’t used mine for years but you can see what I thought of them when I filmed the various videos at the time. The last new one I bought cost me only £97 if I remember correctly. If you import a Canadian machine, it will be designed to run on 120 volts.

George is terrible at carpet cleaning it soaks the carpet 1 out of 10, I’ve compared it against a Karcher puzzi 10/1 and 8/1 and the karcher gets quarter of tank of dirty water George put on the carpet, but I must agree the upholstery nozzle is 10 out of 10 on the George
Yes, I have a Henry Wash and tend to use a wheeled Vax washing head from my previous carpet cleaner. I find that one works better.
I adapted a Vax spinscrub head to fit my George and it's 10 times better than that "Chocolate teapot" fishtail thing!
Numatic vacuums cant talk because if actually would talk then kids would be scared and scream for their parents
