Thanks for the demonstration, it didn't mention in the instruction if you could use both the pump and suction functions at the same time so I was unsure untill I saw your video, thank you. 👍
Ive got a george and this is how I deep clean car carpets. Vacuum first, dilute carpet soap with water in a sprayer. Spray solution onto carpets. Brush the fibers with a light stiff brush or drill brush. Then run only hot water no soap in your george or other extractor and extract the carpet. This will at least rinse out the carpet solution from the fibers, leaving no soap residue which can attract more dirt. Do many dry passes no spraying just vacuum to take out as much residual water left in the fibers. Enjoy clean carpets👍
@@doonhamer74Trouble is, cold water doesn't get the dirt, stains and germs out the carpet. 60-70 degrees is best and I usually use 60 degrees with George in order to properly clean and sanitise the carpet/upholstery and I've never had a problem with it.
@@MrDoubleD93 I don't use it too often but when I do it's big cleans, full flats ect. It's lasted me nearly 2 years with no issues. Despite Numatic's recommendation of only using 20 degrees maximum, that won't get the dirt out. It has to be hot.
You will have much better dirt extraction by spraying your cleaning solution on the upholstery and letting it dwell for a minute, before then vacuuming out. Holding the trigger whilst at the same time vacuuming just means you are using 20x more cleaning fluid than required (great for Numatic's profits, on top of the fact they are selling you 98% water as "cleaning solution"). You can also benefit by spraying a couple of rounds of clean water to help dilute the amount of cleaning solutions still left in the upholstery whilst continuing to extract. If you are serious about cleaning cars you would benefit from looking at chemicals from the likes of Koch Chemie which come much more concentrated and are extremely friendly to all car interior surfaces. Also, you should have cleaned your foot pedals to complete the job. Great demonstration of what is achievable by following the instructions though, very satisfying seeing all the dirty water at the end.
I’m not contributing to Numatic’s profits as I don’t use their solution and no, I am not serious about cleaning cars apart from the ones owned by family members.
By George, I think I need to buy George! I was thinking Rug Doctor Blue after watching another of your videos but gosh by golly that may be folly. Excellent presentation!
I have such problems with the hose connection. Keeps coming apart. Should the green ring part of the connection be stable? Mine seems to pop out. I can’t figure out how it stays in place. At least with help of your video we managed to do most of the flat. Thanks so much! The instructions are pretty useless.
Fab video! Will the turbo pet brush fit onto the George model? I intend on presoaking it and using the pet brush to agitate the dirt before sucking it up
You can’t use the turbo brush on wet or damp carpets, it is intended for dry use only. It would fit the George but it probably won’t last long if you intend to use it as you described.
I have a Rainbow Systems but I think it is made for the hands of big people so sweat a lot using it. This looks easier. Can you also wet mop floor with this?
Hi roger I have a numatic George it is great for valeting my customers cars but when I spray the solution onto the carpet it only sprays out one side of the carpet jet
Just bought a George, but the hose attachment to the nose keeps coming out, the instructions are just pictures, is there meant to be a piece that threads on the outside of the nose part? This one slots in but isn't easy to do....my carpets are still quite damp, after watching your video which is brillliant and informative, I'll go over them again tomorrow to dry them some more.
The hose fitting is a bayonet type. The threads on the outside allow you to fit a regular screw in Numatic hose. I don’t recommend the George for carpet cleaning as it’s not very effective, but it’s great when using the small washing head.
Hi, I have a question. I understand “Henry Wash” is a cheaper version of the George? But can I use the Henry wash for dry cleaning? If I have my own attachments from my Henry HVX200. The filter, the bags and pipe? Or is the Henry Wash strictly for wet cleaning only? Because if a Henry wash is just a George without the dry tools then I may as well save £50 and just get the Henry wash
The Henry tools will fit a Henry wash as will the dust bag, though you can buy bigger bags to fir the Henry Wash. As long as the filter fits Henry Wash then you can convert it for dry cleaning. At the most, you may have to buy a George dry filter if the Henry one doesn’t fit.
Yes, the George comes with many other attachments. Here is my video on the current model showing all the tools included. th-cam.com/video/D13RnVE5rpk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=9t_pCLqKqk_pnBzJ
Great tool but Numatic really dropped a ball when they did the recent "facelift" on George. While they were at it they should have replaced that next to useless carpet fishtail thingy with some sort of rotary brush like the Vax Spinscrub. I actually adapted a Vax Spinscrub head ( N.L.A. sadly!) to fit onto my Geroge and it's way better. Cleans the carpet better and sucks up the dirty water better too.

Did you manage to extract enough water from the seats? They seemed to be taking up water like sponges, which effectively I suppose they are - foam seat pads and cloth cover
You won't get a better domestic extractor than the George/Charles. They really are excellent, so I imagine Roger went over the seats a few times until he was confident he couldn't extract any more water from them.
Does your machine get really hot?, i got a brand new unit couple days old and it turned off on me first day of use, came on again after it cooled down stayed on for like 5 minutes ish turned off again :( i've noticied theres like some foam in the air intakes guess thats for dust could that be a reason why it overheating?
No mine does not get really hot. If a vacuum cleaner overheats and cuts out it is normally due to a restriction in the airflow causing the motor to get hot and activating the thermal cut out.
Mine does that as well, did it out of the box. I just don't use it for dusting, I hoover, then while it cools I dust. When it cuts out it can take an age to cool and reset.
Depends how you treat the fabric seats/carpet but it normally takes a couple of hours without proper ventilation plus you have to consider the weather too.
Wait… what? Your car has ‘hardly ever been vacuumed’?!? The car is one of my favourite things to vacuum: lots of nooks and crannies, ample opportunity to use a dusting brush on the dash and console, heavy duty muck and grit to scrub out of the boot! It’s a proper vacuum cleaner workout!
Really good job, the colour of the extracted water says it all. I follow The Detail Geek, a Canadian car valeting specialist for weekly pressure cleaning, vacuuming and extraction action. His preferred method for extraction is to use a pump sprayer to apply chemical manually then use a cordless drill and brush to agitate quite thoroughly, then he uses the extractor with just water in it - no shampoo - to ‘rinse’ the carpets and seats, leaving as little chemical residue behind to become sticky and attract resoiling. He used to use a Bissell spot cleaner but recently upgraded to quite a substantial commercial extractor. Not suggesting our beloved Ibaisiac is doing it wrong, but I’ve used a Vax on carpets before and in my experience the resoiling means you’re stuck shampooing the carpet more regularly… I’ve seen other carpet cleaning videos and rug cleaners too, who apply shampoo, agitate with a single disc machine or counter-rotating brush machine, then just use water to rinse and an extractor to just remove water.
@@robdavis5711 Professional cleaning companies will use guaranteed hygienic methods and not residential shampooers. For your average Joe, as long as you don't live like a hippopotamus, shampooing with a standard cleaner will do fine. If you just picked up a used car though or you have a filthy nasty car, then I would rather use the professional method. Also doing the pre-app with a pump sprayer and manual agitation and only using the shampooer for hot water extraction will save your shampooer tubing from rotting out anyway (the chemicals in the shampoo left sitting in the lines will chew up the rubber). Tubing can be replaced anyway, but you know, it's a couple hours of work to replace all those lines so rather not make it a frequent job.

Nothing wrong with George. He just did it wrong. You're supposed to apply cleaner using a pump sprayer, agitate with drill brush, then extract with the vacuum filled with hot water only. Still did an okay job despite this.
