With all due respect, no, it isn't that simple. She's the expert, and we're all just obeying what the news tells us. What I don't understand is how people can k!ll a species while barely knowing why, but then when someone comes out and tells us to lay back, we're all suddenly experts on why they're wrong and we must continue k!lling. I have never denied that Lanternflies do damage, but even after a bit of research, any person can conclude that these bugs are not nearly as bad as people make them out to be.
Just seems so strange that they came all of the sudden. I’ve noticed they aren’t afraid & don’t fly fast or long without resting . They sort of just plop. Glad they’re more of a nuisance than anything else- so pretty!
Seen one yesterday in my blueberry bush now there’s 3 I’ve seen in the tree next to my window. I’ve heard about them being in Pennsylvania now there in Connection
With all due respect, no, you're wrong, that isn't necessary at all. Dr. Kelli Hoover is an expert on invasive species, you are not, nor are most people here. Yes, they do k!ll saplings, that was clearly stated, yet the overall damage is not severe.
At this point, it seems like people just pick and choose what they want to believe no matter how true it is. I don't think people even know why they stomp Lanternflies, they just do it cause it's fun to them.
Those are vines. It is clearly stated that Lanternflies are still a threat to vines, but they are not a threat to most plants. Also, you can't go around blaming everything on a bug. You cannot deny the facts that a literal expert on invasive species is saying.
Is she a spotted lanternfly activist? The info is conflicting. They won't harm your trees so there's no need to spray BUT they'll spread...Yeah, no. I take great pleasure in spraying them.
I think she's trying to protect the bug. That simple
I mean, really think about it. They were everywhere at one point and did you see a noticeable major difference in...anything, really?

Can't be as bad as the 2020 Miller Moth plague we had in Colorado. It was insane!
Ive seen them kill black walnut saplings, kill every one you see.

The tree of heaven and the wild grape vines, is where I find them. They are covered in the woods behind my house.
This video was made by a lanternfly

That is not true! My roses are gone. My raspberries are gone. My maple tree will be gone on October 30th.

Good real news update. Well looks like you don't need to look insane stomping around after all.
We don't. And yet people will just deny because or arrogance.

Don't kill them. They are eating the genetically motified bugs
Stop the lantern fly propaganda. Personally, I breed them.
