    The way the volunteers learn these monkeys names is so impressive. God bless these beautiful humans for caring for these beautiful monkeys

    Off topic: It's nice to hear English spoken by native Afrikaans speakers. Very pleasant on the ears. There's something meditative about these films. A lot of healing energy in all forms under one roof. Pretty astounding!

      Dave comes across as a wonderful caring guy. The world is lucky to have people like him. I admire and love what's he does and the beautiful things he says about the monkeys. Really tugs at the heartstrings! Also how he appreciates all his volunteers, donors and members etc. Is great. Deserves a medal but he would probably be too humble to accept one. Keep up the great work Dave and much love and gratitude from us all. 💞

    Wonderful video. Thankyou. I've been watching every week for over 2 years now and I am still amazed by the length of their tails! The babies look so sweet when their faces start to turn black. When it's convenient I'd love to see a minute or two of Gimli. Hope the new patients are doing OK. x x

    Another fantastic show. I tried to watch last night but there was apparently an issue. You guys really do a phenomenal job. Because of you, nearly 40 baby monkeys have been rehabilitated to living their best life. The highest number I’m sure, with the fewest workers. So many babies would be a challenge in the best of times so it’s AMAZING what you’ve achieved.

    This is a lovely channel. The staff are amazing, caring and dedicated volunteers who give these wildlife a second chance in life. It’s incredible how the staff know the monkeys by names babies yearlings and adults. Mr. Dave is an amazing man loving and caring to these beautiful creatures. I truly love watching your monkey stories. God bless your cause.

    A marvelous, completely engaging video. It is beyond wonderful to see the babies with their mums, and those mums being ever diligent in protecting their child. I get teary eyed every time I see a mum wrap her arms around a baby and adopt it with all that she is. It is very emotional to see the once-orphans out in troop with their family, some playing with their former Disneyland friends. I know that what I feel pales by comparison to all of you who are there, wholeheartedly invested with love, hopes, fears and tears, and who are responsible for these precious beings, from baby to adulthood, being alive and well in every way a monkey can be, and at the same time maintaining your own emotional balance through all the sad and bad trying moments. This video is an emoting masterpiece, and a tribute to every individual at the VMF who has a hand in making these scenes possible.... So many emotional moments... Poor little Yolanda...that Rush, an adult male came to her rescue is surprising to me. (I recall that Jethro is also protective). And I must say that as always, the informative facts about life at the VMF is not lost on me. I always learn something new. Thank you for this and for all that you do that viewers will never see or feel. It takes a special heart to do what you do. ❤

    So nice to see little Finley again, he has gotten so much bigger than when he first arrived! His face is almost all black now, but his chin and around his mouth is still a bit pink. I guess it's his way of saying he doesn't want to grow up Too quickly, LOL! ♥️😁♥️

    It is always impressive to see how these monkey babies survive an amputation, how well the healing process goes and how quickly they recover and are viable even after losing a leg! We see it in this video using Jonds as an example.

    Thank you for a wonderful update. It is always so great to see how the babies and their mom's are doing. I'm also very pleased to hear there is interest in helping with all the monkey's and caring of them. Perhaps covid now being in check we can all get back to a more normal life and you will have lots of help and funding to ease the stress of the last year!

    As vezes deve demorar uns dias para adaptação e criar laços entre um bebê e sua mãe adotiva? Pois os bebês só conhecem humanos e não precisam passar fome, já que a mãe adotiva não tem.leite para amamentar.

    Ok I am curious and have to ask. How after 12+ years are you still not able to purchase the land to release these poor monkeys back to the wild? If I recall thats what the game plan has been. All Im seeing year after year is more and more monkeys arriving and none being released back to the wild. At what point do you quit asking for donations to help buy land to release them?

    • @serratedanderson7148
      @serratedanderson7148 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Wow. This is so far off it seems it doesn't even apply to this foundation. They have land. They release them all for the most part. Unless they're un releasable. That's the whole point of every video. Integrating monkeys into the troops that live outside. It's considered "semi-wild" but it's the best for them. It's safe, protected, and they receive vet care and healthy diets. The best thing they could have done was buy land and release the monkeys onto that land. Which they have done. Over 600 released monkeys... Just sayin

    Monkey 🐵 see monkey do soon more 🐒 monkeys will become thieves too. 😆 I hope not but monkeys are very intelligent and learn by watching each other's behavior.

    • @VervetMonkey
      @VervetMonkey  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Monkeys or animals for that matter cannot be thieves, they have no idea of the concept of stealing, they have a hierarchy which depicts who eats first and if you finished eating others are welcome to it, there is no storing of food if its ready to eat you eat it or leave it for others to eat

      I based my comment on the collection of eye glasses, etc that was reported in the video about this monkey "taking" them from people at the foundation. I never mentioned food. Included in the video it was reported that she had learned to open the door locks on the gates and she had to be closely watched. Monkeys do learn behaviors from each other it is how they learn to forage for food and some even use rocks as tools to crack open hard shell nuts.
      However, according to your reply were offended by my comment and you took it way too serious than it was intended.
      I have been a subscriber for many years to the Vervet Monkey Foundation because they are respected as wild animals not pets. I firmly believe no monkey should ever be legal to own as a pet. That is why I respected your foundation, the monkey's live protected but free in a natural habitat.
      However, regretfully I will unsubscribe after reading your angry reply. I sincerely wish prosperity to the foundation and it's members because the monkey's all deserve much better lives than the one they were born in before the foundation took them in and gave them a chance to be live free and protected.
