Thanks for this, I was born in '88 and lived on Hearns Road till I left home at 18. Those old pics brought back some old memories, especially the old Blue Anchor and Red Lion pubs.

Very well done on this great and well illustrated video. What a shame that so many of the old buildings from the area have now gone, I lived in the area up until 2003 and even before then wonderful edifices such as The Rookery were already gone, the Rookery fire was always treated as suspicious even at the time and then suddenly we had a huge block of flats appear!
Thanks for this, well enjoyed and brought back some great memories.

Excellent video, thank you for posting. I was brought up in the Crays during the 1950's/60's. We didn't have much but as a kid I thoroughly enjoyed it all. I can still recall the sense of camaraderie and the troubles shared with neighbours. Went back on a visit recently and couldn't believe my eyes - a traffic nightmare and swarthy foreign types everywhere. What on earth happened to our world?

@@eclecticexperience1 I’m local, but relatively new to the area, really interested in the history. Do have anything on Marion Crescent?

That bingo hall used to be called "The Iron Curtain". In the late 60s early 70s. It was a live music venue and bar.

@eclecticexperience1 apparently The Troggs played there in '66. But it never had the set list of Chis. Caves

Yes indeed. It was the first "nightclub" my elder sister ever attended (I was too young!).

Coming from a background in Architecture, this is a really interesting record and comparison. Wonder if you have any old shots of areas in Essex or East Anglia? Thanks for the efforts and will check out some of your back catalogue having just found the channel.
