The small park is actually part of the property which George left open for residents of the area to use. He also paid for the christmas tree in the square every year. A lovely guy who adored the area and always took the time to stop and say hi if you saw him out and about. I am gutted he is no longer. Gone far too early poor George. Finally at rest. Xx

I definitely think he’s underrated in the USA. Also he does not get enough credit for the complexity of his music. I was just looking at some of the sheet music and... never in my life have I seen so many chords.
Either he had some people helping him, or he really did “fumble around with a keyboard” until he found the exact chord that he wanted. It’s really remarkable how many seldom used chords there are.
Yeeesssindeed,.... Periodically, I too have to get My fix of George; I fire up his 🎵🎶🎵🎶 on TH-cam!!! He was a good looking boy but his talent was unsurpassed! This video of him thanking fans is touching because of his VERY apparent sincerity.
All I can say is that George was arguably the best singer song writer of all time, his amazing voice, his amazing words……. WOW!! I was very lucky to see him live on about 4 occasions, the last being at Sheffield for his Symphonica tour that was two years late because of his illness. I remember saying to my partner Vicki that I hope his voice was still as good live, I needn’t have worried, as always, and like one of his songs…. AMAZING!!
So, so sad when he died, never will he be replaced… and according to most one of the kindest people around. Unbelievable that so many geniuses. and he was 100% a genius, seem so troubled!! RIP George, never forgot, forever missed!!!
Of all the celebrity deaths, as a die hard fan, this one upset me the most. It's still hard to accept. Such talent wasted and a genuinely nice lovely man xx

2016 was pure horror for music lovers, and I too so wasn't ready for George,.. Think was in denial for the most part of 2017, just too much.
it is still hard for me to accept he is gone, still so young, so much to live, to love and to create..

I was a teen when Wham was around. I was a fan of George’s solo career. He had the best voice. I still get chills when I listen to him sing. Thank you for showing his neighborhood.

George Michael died of heart disease and fatty liver. He was truly blessed to not have contracted HIV; think about it, but pneumonia is no joke either 🤷🙏!
This was a place of regular childhood visits. My grandmother and aunt lived in Holly Lodge Mansions, which were originally homes for ‘retired gentlewomen’. We were regulars at Highgate Cemetery, which fascinated me with its famous inhabitants and catacombs. I remember strolling the leafy lanes and speaking to Katie Boyle, who was gardening at her home in Highgate. We frequently visited Hampstead Heath too, which in the very early 1970s was full of red squirrels. Happy memories in an otherwise terribly difficult childhood. Obviously this was well before George was a local. Such a caring, generous and beautiful man. I hope he’s happy, wherever he is ❤️🌈💔

I'd thought the same and then suddenly had a chance to go there... I visited that place in 2017, also went to Goring-on-Thames, it was really heartbreaking... Miss him so much...
Im just glad I was born and lived when George Michael was here, I believe there is a song that everyone here now can add to the timeline in history, from there first dance to the last. From the special people who came into our lives then left, or them drunken moments we spent on the dance floor we would love to not haunt us. George has been in my top two play lists since the Faith album and helped me on my spiritual journey in life. I miss his song writing so much but will always keep his music in my heart.

One of the loveliest humans who ever lived and his passing was far too soon. His life was so tragic in many ways, largely contributed to by his own demons, but that doesn’t change the lovely human he was. RIP George, we all miss you and your beautiful music.

As I grew up with his musics starting with Wham!
What a beautiful man with such amazing talent. Losing George, Princess Dianna, Whitney Huston, David Bowie, and Prince.
The music industry will never be the same, all these great voices are gone forever.

I met George when he was staying at a hotel in Dublin after a concert.(Well we were fans and booked in there) Anyway, I wasn’t a fan, I thought I liked Andy but when he walked in he had a glow. Never seen anything like it before or since. He was just like an angelic presence, charisma and now I know just a really really honest genuinely sweet person. and fighter for truth.Ha, he says there “if he wasn’t spiritual before” Sh”t he was.

I truly loved George. I still remember when I heard the news. I was absolutely stunned. There are really any celebrities i like or admire very much but I always adored George. I remember when George did that interview after having pneumonia....he looked like he had his health tested by that experience, and just squeaked by to recover ..still cannot believe he is gone ...I cried for a straight month when Michael Jackson died ,I live in California and would see landmarks that would remind me of him daily ..it must be hard for those in London to see his old places and think of his energy once being there to bless us ..Christmas was changed forever by GM leaving when he did...hug the people who are dear to you in life right now ,we are all gone too soon

Thank you for this video. It sure brings back memories. I was there in May 2017, I have loads of pictures of the House, his car and the shrine just across the Street. His very friendly neighbor came out and talked to me. I’ve been a GM fan since I was 11 years Old ind 1985 and I saw him in concert 3 times in Denmark, where I’m from

I was lucky enough to meet George outside his Highgate home the day before he opened the brand new Wembley Stadium (June 2007) - which of course I went to both nights as well lol 🤣🥰 - I was back in the UK again in 2019 and went to see the memorial garden and that entire area was beautifully displaying fan tributes. I remember that a few lovelies would regularly go and ensure it was tidy etc. Shame it was taken away but you can’t expect it to be permanent and George wouldn’t want a statue etc. Far too humble for that ❤️💋 xx
