Superb guitar also, this pre-Cambrian axeronomist with 42yrs on the rosewood knows a decent weapon when he sees & hears one... the Trooch MusicMan series are the ducks nuts.

    I'll start with saying that the JP models are probably the most easy playing guitars ever. To some extent too good. They don't fight back at all which some may find a bad thing. It's like wiping your arse with silk.
    But there are a couple of things I'd like to see some where down the line, maybe 20th anniversary guitar or some other limited edition models. Sort of a retro model if you will. One with a Floyd Rose tremolo and/or the famous Picasso paint job he had on his Ibanez's. I know John has said that the JP birdge they made for the guitars is many times better than a Floyd in everyway. But still it would be cool to get different feel to the guitar without changing the essence of it. And the Picasso finish (several of them) is so iconic from the early DT days that I bet people would want a Music Man guitar with it. As third thing if this was to ever be possible would be to use the original Dimarzio Steve's Special and Air Norton pickup set he famously used in his Ibanez's to further deliver the pre-Music Man era feel. Just a thought.

      @Zhaggysfaction 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@skrete Well they did do a JP model with a Floyd ROse tremolo, so 1 of 3 things did get done. But I still have some hope that the Picasso graphic will enter the picture at some point.

    The lighting is misleading at times which make the frets look gold. I just ordered one of these riiiiiight as ernie ball closed their doors for coronavirus.
    Personally, I wish it came with gold tone frets, along with the crunch lab "bar" and pole pieces being gold rather than black, and silver, respectively. At this point though, I'll be happy to just get the thing....
    I sure hope everyone in the Ernie Ball family, including Johnny P. are all well and safe at home and healthy and Corona free....well, a fridge full of Corona beer wouldn't hurt at this terribly depressing time.

  • @pz-bv9ts

    Does the alder give any advantages over basswood? I've dreamed about a JP6 for a while, but I'd rather get what JP actually uses in studio and on tour... but once you buy something, it's always replaced by something else.. 2 months after I finally bought a Mesa Mark V, the JP2C was announced LOL

    • @jbmusicman1
      @jbmusicman1 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +pz17 Right now he is in deep deep love with the Majesty. Just keep in mind that the Majesty only has one TRS output unlike the others that give you the option to run two mono or one stereo. But that's it, the Majesty. He plays the JP16 on tour for a couple of songs but I think that's for promotion. Watch the rig breakdown video with his tech Maddi. You'll see everything there. So far my fav has been the JP15...which shocked the hell out of me but I haven't connected to a guitar like that since the first JP6. Hope that helps

    i absolutely love this guitar, but i can't for the life of me figure out why they put the switch directly in front of the strumming hand. it was the ONLY thing keeping me from buying it. i just cannot understand the logic behind this..

    • @guitarstalkandtech9085
      @guitarstalkandtech9085 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      He said in interviews that he designed some of his music Man guitars to his playing style so he's probably user to strumming differently and not hitting the switch because. But yeah that switch is definitely in wrong place for sure lol.

    • @itznoxy7193
      @itznoxy7193 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s honestly the best position for the pickup selector. It’s right there easy to flick without moving your hand away from the strings. I wish more guitars did that. If you are worried about hitting it just practice more.
