I still think it'll be hilarious if the Switch 2 ends up being something completely different altogether. Shoutouts to SRC267, The Collector, Vergil, Capy and ActuallyTheOwner for the news tips!
As someone who has almost every N64 rom worth playing, I'm like 96% satisfied with where we are in emulation, at least on PC. Overall I think it's fantastic. I love it and so does my young'un.
anyone who "gets mad about" FPGA being called emulation knows nothing about FPGAs, nor about emulation. FPGAs are literally an emulator at the hard ware level - you Program them (the P in FPGA) to emulate the chosen circuits... it is the closest thing to having the actual hardware when you don't have the actual hardware, provided you have a good FPGA.
What I want out of an N64 emulator is the option to have the option of instant near perfect emulation as a default, then secondary options of accurate emulation but with all loading being instant, another option without frame drops of accurate emulation, and another setup with higher frame rates (namely 60fps) for smoother gameplay (without speeding up the game).
I'm still waiting for a light-weight tablet with a CM5 that also has video in so it can double as a portable monitor. Minisforum sort of has one, but its basically a laptop cpu making it more powerful than it needs to be, with worse battery and is just heavy for a "tablet". Tablets in general are in that weird zone where they keep going for performance, but then just cripple what you can do on the OS level. Then have no auxiliary functions (e.g. video in).
I'll just repeat it; convince Stenzek to do a Nintendo 64 emulator. There, we fixed N64 emulation, boys. EDIT: Watch out, lots of drama-loving crybabies in replies as per usual, good ol' TH-cam and good ol' Internet! Sorry for not mentioning Trump.
@GMOTP5738 That's a brilliant idea. Have one person as temperamental and hateful as Stenzek work on them all, so that one day he can sabotage them all when he doesn't get his way like he did with AetherSX2.
While I'm excited that BazziteOS will be able to boot into Gaming Mode on NVIDIA cards because it's something I've been waiting a long time for, I'm also disappointed that even a GTX 1080 card doesn't meet the requirements to use it.
The Taki Udon FPGA progression is what FPGA needs, and I think it's awful the flack he's been getting from some areas of the FPGA community, who presumably feel threatened by the lower entry price point. FPGA being more open and available for everybody is a great way to help preserve the gaming history of computers and console that are rapidly physically deteriorating and will not last forever.
I currently have bazzite without steam game mode on my main rig running a Nvidia card ( RTX 2060 ) minor glitches, nothing huge or really noticeable. I also have the KDE desktop environment and its super snappy and fast. I absolutely love it fast gaming and linux desktop all in one.
Same as MiSTer FPGA, but unfortunately limited to playstation controllers for snac options for original system peripherals. With the vast amount of OG controllers and even midi devices like mt32-pi that can use the same snac port on normal MiSTer units, its an unfortunate limitation and the only real downside I can see in this otherwise great looking system
@@ben-tendo Yeah it includes both bluetooth and usb for modern controllers. Its just that one of MiSTer's strengths is allowing original controllers with their native serial connection on a majority of the consoles on the platform, so its odd limiting that core feature of MiSTer to just PS1 inputs.
At $120 for a 16 GB rpi5 with no disk, heatsink, case, or power supply... it's cheaper to get a N100 or N150 mini PC, and the PC is a lot faster and more compatible while using only a little bit more power.
so stoked about the stuff Taki Udon stuff. How limited do u suppose the supply is going to be on both the PSX and the bluetooth controller kits? im hoping its not something that i need to be ready to buy the second it goes on sale. im usually working with limited funds but id REALLY like to get ahold of these.
We should just call it was it is, the SW2 "leaks" are just _long play marketing._ Everyone knows it's coming, knows what it looks like and probably already knows what games will be out for it, there's no secrets left to hide. The Pilet reminds me of the Uconsole that uses a Raspberry Pi compute module. It's weird that it took someone so long to make one that's designed for the regular Pi.
Lots of rumors or speculations about the Switch 2 but I'm not convinced that they will call it "Switch 2" It's kind of like if they would have called the Game Boy Color: Game Boy 2 and the Advance: Game Boy 3. 😂
I got my son a PS5 on sale for £300 which is much better and cheaper than the Switch 2 will be and he can play on his tablet - today. The RPi 5 16GB is pointless at that price - an N100 beats it in every way, including price. If you need the I/O I'm sure that there's a solution.
worth mentioning that MVG talks some utter bull about the N64 MiSTer core. it literally does run games built on the homebrew dev tools right now, and has done for a year. my guess, he either didn’t touch his mister since the last time he covered it, or didn’t bother to hit update_all since then
I still think it'll be hilarious if the Switch 2 ends up being something completely different altogether.

Do you have any information about a new ps2 Emulator-- RUSX2.
Mr Sujano.
Duckstation is silently getting updated in the andriod duckstation websites.
Latest beta version is 0.1-8317.

ty for recommending other channels and linux news. great content.
Thanks, glad you liked it!

it can be.. anywhere..🤣

Just needs to do every emulator like xbox and xbox 360 for example, I need a duckstation for xbox lol

Agreed. I think it SHOULD meet the requirements, but it is probably just an arbitrary cutoff of some kind.
refactorization is needed in n64 emulation .
I would love to see an in depth linux video of any kind, I'd love to see your Linux opinions and suggestions

I have dreams of Switch 2. It will have buttons.
I as well, fell from my roof and broke my back trying to unclog my toilet, amidst the pain I saw a *vision...*
The switch 2 will have, analog sticks.

I wonder if Gamecube and Wii will play on that Raspberry pi? :D
I'd be interested to see how powerful the FPGA is in his PS1 console and how good it would be at running other systems for that money.
It will be the same as the Pi and MiSTer but in "console" form. It will be able to run all cores in MiSTer FPGA

You missed the video of the switch 2 the came out. Official sources said its basically 99% legit.
I'd like to see Rich Whitehouse take on N64 emulation with his brand of perfectionism. His Patreon following would no doubt grow quite a bit more.
I love what Taki Udon is doing.
The fact that my man is using his TH-cam channel to announce other content creators uploads is such a big-dick move
wha? the supersega having controversy? NEVER!
Only need to see switch 2 software and it using switch 1 cart and it's done
Surely that's a Parasol (For Sun), rather than an umbrella? I appreciate Umbrella means "Little Shade" but then, why Parasol?
Fancy French word. It's meant for the sun rather than the rain so it's not waterproof like an umbrella.

@dansmith1661 I don't disagree, but that's not my point, Nintendo is going for what you can do and play not for the console itself.

As far as Nintendo goes, imagine something they should make or add, and cut out 85% of what that is. That is what they will come out with.
