NVIDIA: "we perfected the design of our cooling to make the card as small as possible whilst still being powerful" Literally every GPU company: "cool! Good for you! lets make it big and flashy instead!"
I highly, highly, highly doubt the FE version will run cool. There's a reason the AIB manufacturers increase the size of there cards by a lot on average. If keeping the card small and sleek looking was feasible within their expected performance range, the AIB people would do it.
Let's come back to this when we get independent reviews of the NVIDIA design and see how hot, or cool, it runs. See how this ages. Cause I hate to break it to you, but dissipating ~600W of heat in an air cooled 2-slot design is a very tall ask.
Odds are after testing, the other companies found they could not keep it cool enough without using a larger cooling setup. I absolutely love Asus's 4 fan idea. I'll be curious to see just how effective that is.
@@ZNLBailey It should run pretty cool, all those heatpipes and a significantly reduced resistance to airflow (dual flow through) should make it extremely efficient. 575W should also not be what it pulls in gaming loads, should hopefully be a bunch lower. Real. Gpus over each new gen should get cheaper and perform better over time, not perform x times better but cost x times as much as previous gens. Just wait for the tariffs to take effect if you also live in the USA
Unfortunately if people vote with their wallets Nvidia will take the manufacturing time they spend on consumer GPUs and focus it all on AI where they are bankrolling now anyway and there will be no Nvidia consumer cards and Jensen won't care either way
This is exactly the video I was waiting for! Thank you! 🎉
The best thing about Founders design is that if you break the pci slot or it cracks , you can actually replace it now :O
I cant wait for the white 5090 models and the 5090 vs the 4090 raster benchmarks
I know Linus wants to fly out to South Africa and do an ultimate tech upgrade
@@alecgrant3843 straight up mind reading
yay fake frames at the price of a lung
The founders editions is the coolest looking card, that double passthrough is sick
can you wear coding socks for next vid?
Make the whole team wear em
Projects like Adaxum with strong use cases and a clear vision often lead the next bull run. Definitely worth considering!

Bro fell off
Yeah the Reference one is the best. It doesn't have any stupid RGB or water cooling and is just a well engineered design.
I'll tattoo LTT on my butt if I can get a 5090 from you guys.
First
i got second comment 1 second after you
I want to see more of the inno3d frostbite 5090 that comes with built in full waterblock from alphacool!! Looks awesome
Given the incresing size of those cards, I think it's time for a fullsize ATX Card, with a PCIe Slot for the "Mainboard", like the NUC enthusiast did.
That first Asus 5090 with the tiny 2 slot plate is really gonna find some mega sag when held in without a anti sag bracket.
I can't wait to see split GPU waterblocks. You'll be able to fit this Founders 5090 in tiny cases.
7:40 Tim from Hardware Unboxed spotted (guy talking to the rep) :D
It was a perfect time to place that burning conector on the side, like EVGA did, with their prototype .
Why is ASUS the only ones putting more than 1 HDMI out on the cards?
Aw man I already sold 3 kidneys, now I gotta sell the rest I have stocked
I just don't understand how there is enough market share for so many different $2k+ cad designs. I can't see them outselling the 5080 and 5070, yet there seem to be fewer alternate designs for those lower tier cards. How can the sell through volume be enough for that?!?
