G35 gets HONEYCOMB CARBON FIBER OVERLAY PARTS (HOMEMADE) 2019
Over the past few days I have tried to overlay my parts in Carbon Fiber and well it didn't go as expected but thats alright because this was definitely a learning lesson for me and when I do Carbon Fiber once again, I will definitely do a much better job.
RIGHT METHOD TO CARBON FIBER OVERLAY:
1. Clean Piece
2. Mix Resin with Hardener (Ratio depends on instructions, mine was 1:1)
3. Brush the compound into the piece and let it get dry sticky (about 2-3 hours in about 85 degree weather)
4. Lay Carbon Fiber and mold
5. Lay Compound on top and let it fully heal (7-8 hours in 85 degree weather)
6. Repeat Step 5 about 3 times. SO three coats on top of carbon fiber total.
7. Light sand of the piece (1200-3000 grit water sand)
8. Final coat of resin on top to give it shine.

Yo for the layers did u use a regular brush a a sponge brush cuz when I used a regular brush it picks up too much and makes the layers thicker

Hey bro are you on coil overs or lowering springs? And if you are, which would you recommend?
ACTV PRODUCTIONS I’m on springs but I am going to switch to coils soon, I want to see how it feels, if you have a really tight budget springs are not bad but definitely want to try coils since everybody recommends it

not gonna lie my dude.. cut all the excess fabric before you resin over it. Also Wet sand it by hand you're much much better off
Justin Mendoza I was thinking that but the cloth would dismantle, like you know how it is woven, when I made cut, like a strand would fall out you know. I should have cuz way more tho before resin, but it was my first time and I wanted to make sure I had enough to cover the piece
