    Just got our S8 and am still testing things out. FYI, the unit will run until state of charge drops to just below 20% and then it returns to the dock to recharge. Sadly, it did not restart cleaning the room it was cleaning and flagged the Cleaning History session as "Cleaning interrupted by user". The in app notification was "Low battery. Returning to dock." I specifically broke cleaning into multiple sessions because of not knowing how long it would operate. So if you have a larger home, you'll want to set up routines that define areas that can be completed on one charge.
    I also feel like the scheduling should be more flexible than just weekly settings. We are retired and the guest bedrooms don't need to be swept weekly. Once a month would be appropriate as those rooms get no traffic or use most of the time.

    I haven't seen a review that was so clear, so "to the point," and so thorough. Thank you for all the work this kind of presentation must take. Just purchased the S7 MaxV Ultra since I thought it would be best for a home that is largely wooden floors, no cats or dogs, and some carpeting that is very low-pile. This was an enormous upgrade from my three year-old S6 which I used only for vacuuming. Mapping was done so quickly, and mapping two floors proved a game-changer for me. In one day, I can vacuum both levels (including under beds) and wash all hard floor areas in the house. Both the S7 and S8 are the best on the market, in my opinion. Clear reviews, like yours, help us choose the one that best meets our needs and suits our budgets. Can't go wrong either way. Again, many thanks!

    I didn't know that the s8PU will autodetect the level it's on. I've always been changing the maps on the app manually. Great review, thank you!

    You mentioned around 13:02 the room ordering to be cleaned. I'm glad Roborock took my feedback regarding having the option to set a specific order for room cleaning! This shows this company cares and is open to feedback. 😁
    I gave this feedback while having the S7 MaxV Ultra. Can't wait for my S8 Pro Ultra to be delivered tomorrow! Woo woo

    Great video. Quick question: the suction rating sounds SO MUCH higher as a numerical value on the S8 v. the S7. Did you notice that this tranlslated into so much better performance on picking up larger debris? Thanks in advance.

    how fast does vibratevise do? Like 300/minute?? I was reading somewhere it was saying 300 times/minute...if it is true, it is impressive to have vibrating mop during the mopping!

    Looks great, but I don't know if it's worth 1.5k$
    It's not like it's incredibly different from the S7 and these prices are getting crazy for a vaccum

    My s8 pro ultra every time I take it upstairs to clean will try to find the room than it switch the map, but when finished is trying to look for the doc and goes in error mode
    Any suggestions ?

    for the corners/sides they should a small suction hole or pipe... to suck those in...as it pass through them

    Many, many other reviews claim the S7 Max V is still better in most important vacuuming / mopping / navigation functions, and that the comparative lack CFM power on the S8 vs the S7 will mean the S8 won't ever be able to compete in most vacuum tests vs the S7. Have you noticed any improvements via firmware / software updates to the S8 over the past 2 months that might help close these gaps in performance? Thank you.

    Is there any info or help you can offer on whether or not most 5G wifi networks will allow setup at 2.4G like the vacuum requires? I'm finding it hard to find that info from my ISP so I thought I'd post here while I continue to research. We are on AT&T Internet 1000 (Fiber 1 GIG) Stand-alone in the US.

      Hi Anna, the type of Wifi network will be determined by the type of wifi modem or router you have in your home. Are you able to see any brand and model number on that? I would think generally almost all wifi routers will still have both 5ghz and 2.4ghz compatibility, it will likely just be a matter of temporarily disabling the 5ghz network during set up.

    Roborock is the best in its game for now, but I don't know which marketing team they put in charge that thinks putting a robot vacuum at a price of 1800us would make sense. They have not learned from iRobot mistakes of making these robots prices too high, which bring the company to the down ward spiral they are now on. Well I promise you if Roborock doesn't pull up there sox with these high prices, they will soon have a down ward spiral as well. As other robot manufacturers are doing a greater job for less than half the prices they Roborock is @.

    Unfortunately my s8 pro ultra stopped vacuuming after only 4 weeks. Very disappointing considering it’s price.

      @@iamjoshstunell the robot will not pick up any debris in any mode. All the maintenance has been done properly. Roborock had me troubleshoot and are now asking me to ship it back.
