Hi Mariano, for the flop @6:38, you said that you think it makes sense to mostly bet small or check, but what about betting bigger to the tune of 70%~ of the pot instead? With such a wet flop, there'd be a variety of draws that would call you even at a bigger sizing, so why not extract as much value as possible?
Don’t ever post a comment but have to say, you’re the best poker vlogger on TH-cam by far. When it comes to thin value betting, nobody comes close. And I’m amazed by your creativity and thinking outside the box like with the A3 hand because it can get a little mundane by watching standard NL lines being played out every time. Thank you for the content Mariano and keep up the good work!
The stakes were higher for Brad Owen; playing against pros as well. It almost seems as if Mariano is overextending himself and Brad is taking a very calculated approach. I doubt if Mariano’s bankroll is near 150k+.
@@pauldesisto1790 I only mentioned Mariano’s bankroll, however I have to believe that Brad has a bigger cushion with respect to his bankroll. If I had to guess, I’d say Brad has around 200k+. We don’t know if he supplements through other revenue streams.

Mariano hello from Ecuador! You are a really good guy. Hey Mariano! !a few questions if you happen to see my comment! I’ve been trying to build a bankroll for 1/2 and I wanted to know how long it took you to build something up. Also how old are you? I’m 25 and it’s awesome seeing someone younger clearly have so much success. Thanks!
When I started playing poker, I had $840 and no idea what I was doing. I busted my "roll" 3 times in a month playing 3/5 $300 max at the Gardens, then realized how lost I was. I took a $600 loan from my best friend, began grinding 1/3 while learning the game, ran hot for 6 months, and eventually won a life-changing $5000 jackpot at San Manuel. In total, it took me over 1 year to build my bankroll to $10,000... things went well after that
@Tommy Gunz This is a valid point, but significantly easier if you have a full time job. If the commenter is specifically looking to play only poker for income, then taking shots can be very detrimental to the bankroll, especially when starting out. When I was starting out, I believe it was noted that one should have 30 buy-ins at a certain level in order to play professionally (to account for variance), so you'd need upwards of 10K just to play 1-3 for income. Dropping 1K of that or more into a good 2-5 or 5-10 could take a while to recuperate at lower stakes. But having said all that, if the poster has a source of steady income and is looking to merely build UP a bankroll to then start playing professionally, then taking shots is a great way to do so, because you can increase your roll fairly substantially with one or two sessions of really drunk players. And, when those players get lucky and you go broke, you're only busto until your next paycheck.
Tough spot running into AK, but credit to Hai for slow playing it multi-way pre-flop and under repping his hand. Not many poker players would do something that risky.

I don't know if this ever was questioned but that last hand I think I like all in vs overbet. At the stakes you are at it makes sense but it also denies confidence in the guy playing what you were up against. On the other hand if you are betting into a flush you are screwed. I don't know. I liked the line leading in but the end felt like a bluff. More I think of it are we trying to pick off the straight as well? But the guy was ready to call with 2 pair with way too much on the board. His spot was nuts, was it the less aggression by you at the start? But that would make sense if you hit it on the river either way. He should fold river aggression with so much on the board unless he thinks your doing a bluff that looks like value. But watching your videos you don't. You Bluff and win this by saying you have straight or flush, or even I have flush over your straight you just picked up. That is your style and didnt do that. I'd like to hear your thoughts.
