Having owned all but the c8z. I must say. They all are very special. The C7z is a true sports car. The c6z is as raw as a Vette can get. And the c5z is great platform to learn chasis balance.

Interesting to hear what Oliver thinks. I saw so many comments the last year of people saying the C8 Z06 wouldn’t hold a candle to the C7 Z06. C8 really looks amazing, and you are going to be driving one on the track Rick! Enjoy

I got the last of the real corvettes, c7 z06 with a manual. Yeah the automatic shifts faster but it is boring as heck. I traded in my other c7 with the auto for one with the manual. The c8 z06 is nothing Corvette. GM should have introduced a nee model name and left corvette alone. This thing sounds like a Ferrari 👎.
@@kiddt1999 I totally respect your opinion...different strokes for different folks. If everyone liked the same thing, the world would be boring. Personally, I have liked Corvettes in the past, but never enough to buy one...until the C8. GM knocked it out of the park IMO, and after 14+ months, took delivery of my 23 C8 coupe in July, and I absolutely love it! The Z06 is out of my price range, but to the folks that will be lucky enough to own one, I bet they will be driving around with perma-grin every time they are behind the wheel!
@@keppthorn2997 i hear you. I just wish they would have called it something else. This is a game changer and an amazing car but it isn’t Corvette. No nostalgia at all. I really wish they offered a manual and then maybe i could see past everything else.
I took delivery of my c8 in October of 2020. I am still grinning ear to ear when I take it down a hilly and winding road! I imagine my grin couldn't be removed if I had the c8 z06!
Thanks! I have an 01 Z06 that I've owned for 19 years. It was good to see one on the track. Waiting for my Stingray HTC that has a build week of the 17th of this month.
No no bs that c8 isn’t passing the 7 like that in a straight and obviously off the rip the C5 was not trying as the 6 passed geez 5 seconds each?? Sorry this wouldn’t happen unless Nurburgring or some big track. Obviously the ring it would be a huge difference by the end but the handling isn’t far enough ahead from one platform to the next to pull this off in that short time. I call bs

The c8 isnt faster, the guy in the c7 wasn't really trying because all the point with that video is to show the c8 and not the c7

Hi RICK, hope you didn’t forget me. I will be ordering the 75th anniversary from you. Hopefully things will be back to normal. I thought they would be by the time the 70th anniversary came out but it’s still been a nightmare. Anyway I love your channel it’s very informative and very interesting. Total Bs, it takes more than that for the C8 Z06 to pass the C6 and C7 Z06, I have already been on a track with a C8 z06 and while it is slightly faster its nothing like you see in this video, way to make a promotional video for the C8

The C6 is the best-looking. C8 no doubt the most capable performer but looks too foreign for my pro=American tastes. C7 and C8 rears look too cluttered.

GREAT COMERCIAL FOR C8 Z06, DO THEY NEED TO ADVERTISE THO LOL ....I CALL DEFINETLY STAGED !!! not saying the C8 wont outperform the C7.... not that easily though, You put a professional race car driver in the C8 vs engineers etc in the other 3 generations for starters then there's the fact that the C8 is 20 HP up on the C7 its also a few hundred pounds heavier than the C7... so no its not going to just blast by everything no effort al all c'mon guys... If your going to do it do it with some integrity. Like to see this with a professional behind the wheel in all of the cars. For the record apparently the C6 was actually the preferred car prior to the C8 on the track by a certain performance driving school because it was more predictable in the corners due to it being naturally aspirated vs the supercharger and the insane amount of torque in the lower rpms ( allegedly reliable source who has taken the course with 3 of the earlier generations )
