I really like how the ending mirrors the current justice system in the United States. The white girl gets out, the black girl gets blamed for something she didn’t do and the Hispanic gets sent to a immigrant detention centre, this was so powerful.

How did taystee get in trouble
Shanananananan Dlan'E When her best friend Poussey was killed by a guard she started a riot because when it was reported that an inmate died they didn't have the respect to mention Poussey's name. And when negotiations were given to her she didn't take them because she wasn't getting the justice that she wanted for her best friend. An officer named Piscatella was the main reason why Poussey died(he was not the officer that accidentally killed her). So when he was captured by the ladies Taystee wanted to kill him but didn't because she knew it wouldn't solve anything. When he was let go by the lady inmates, a rookie swat team member that went into the prison to end the riot with other officers shot him in the face and he died. So that the swat team wouldn't get in trouble the put the blame on Taystee. And since she had that history of starting the riot they believed she killed Piscatella even though she let him go. It was because of her friend Big Cindy's testimony saying she saw Taystee kill Piscatella that got her convicted even more.

This show does an awesome job at character development because blanca was definitely not a relevant charcter to me initially but as this ending unfolded my heart bled for her as it didnt end well for her....same can be said for alot of the other characters....they developed them well and they eventually grow on you....Free Blanca tho i hope they give her a better ending come next season...Piper served her purpose...they did enough character development to where the series can continue well without her
Yeah, at first she was just some crazy latina that talked to her boyfriend on the phone in the only bathroom stall that had a door, in that block. And now shes a main character, someone that people grew to love as they watched. once she became relevant, I liked her.

The show will not continue without Piper. When season 7 comes I am pretty sure we are still going to see Piper's life and what she does as she is free now.

Well, she was released early. But now she is going to jail for a different reason.
I mean technically she was released. It's just that she's immediately being arrested again once she steps out.
I doubt it, but I really fucking hope that Blanca gets a better ending next season with some actual closure, even if it's just her seeing Diablo in prison again.

I was so mad at what they did to Blanca. That was messed up. I just kept thinking Piper was going to see Blanca's man asking where she was.....I hope we will see what happens to her in the next season. She was one of my favorites.

This is a great show. The beginning of season 6 was a little eh for me, but the middle got he hooked. Poor Taystee and Blanca! It took me two rewatches of this episode to realize Taystee is going to be executed for something she didn't do. What really got me was the fact that the US justice system is really like this. Great show, great ending, fucked system.

@@mdpo6419 Well, Cindy first was afraid of what would happen if they knew she was in the pool. Not to take away her part in what happened to Taystee, but it's understandable why she was afraid. After she realized the danger Taystee was in, she felt really guilty and almost begged the lawyer to change her testimony, but he told she couldn't help Taystee anymore and it would only cause her harm. People forget Cindy wanted and tried to change her testimony.

This scene shows how private prisons only want to make money and how the justice system is so broken. What happen to Blanca has happen in reality, for those who don’t understand what really happen. Blanca is undocumented immigrant, her bf (Diablo) didn’t know she was undocumented as well. Prisons allows (ICE) to check immigration statues on every inmate who’s coming in and out of the prison. Once they are released ICE waits for them just like in this seen. Anyways Blanca never told her bf she was an immigrant, so she’s being deported. The scene where they show the new Immigration Center is shows how the prison system works they only care about the money and how at this moment immigration centers are being build for this dirty rich people make more money.

Alex still has 4 more years left in prison. I agree but that's sadly how to justice system works. Maritza wasn't on this season because she was doing something else for another TV series. She may or may not be returning in season 7.

I love how the developers evolved Blanca's charscter development, from the girl allegedly talking to the devil on the bathroom stall to a determined smart criminal whose only crime was defending an old lady

True but ALOT has been put in. If you haven't read the book I highly recommend it. There was no riot, there was no Piper/Nora romance (Nora is the real Alex) Larry waited for Piper in real life, some characters weren't real. They had to oof it to make it worth watching which I understand. Damn would've been cool though if alot of the shit in the show happened in the book

This is so cruel how could they play with people's emotions like that? why didn't they tell her that they are sending her to emigration? She would have made plans or prepared herself, why get her all happy then surprise her with this? Ahh the disappointment! I know it's not real but it's sad that there are people who actually deal with this kind of situation.

Adam.M M i watched the ending on netflix like 5 times because i didnt catch it right away what happened to her....i was originally mad because it seemed mad incomplete to me but i immediately found this video and was watching because it said extended..i thought i was getting something extra...but i finally caught it that she had been detained by immigration....boyfriend was loyal though he was right there to pick her up...i hope she gets some real closure next season...
Yeah, when they did her backstory and she was working for that old lady, she threatened to expose Blanca for being an illegal if she didn't do what she said. I reallly hope we get to see what they did with her. I wonder if they put her in that immigration detention center that Linda started.
I missed it completely too! I was wondering why she didn't show up outside. I just thought maybe she took a different bus but watching it now I see that it says ICE on their vests and even on the bus hahaha. I'm so sad that she didn't actually get out though :(

I don't recall another scene of television ever stirring in me such a potent mix of emotions as this one did. What relief that the inmates forgot about the fight and just decided to enjoy themselves playing kickball! What satisfaction at seeing Carol and Barb destroyed by their own scheme! (Along with a twinge of pity, as they were, in the end, just stunted teens who were never given the chance to outgrow their angst.) What joy at seeing Piper and Sophia free and reunited with their families! What hope for Lorena! (And how sad in retrospect!) What grief for Blanca! What shame at living in a country that constructs those detention centers! What rage at Taystee's fate!

This ending will always make me sad like Blanca really thought that she got out early and to see how happy Diablo was is so heartbreaking when Blanca doesn't walk outside and then Lorna crying and bleeding breaks my heart and then the next season when Lorna finds out that Sterling is dead and Vince wants to divorce her is just really sad but I love how much they put into this you get attached to the characters and when something bad happens you all of a sudden feel this overwhelming sense of emotions and it's great but shit at the same time

My favorite ending to any season, SO much shit to unpack here. Denning sisters DEAD, the kickball game with piper watching, Blanca being detained, and of course Taystee…. The song is rlly good too.
A year from now and ya’ll come back to this comment. I am guessing Alex will be killed for the final season of Orange. Piper’s story pretty much ended during 2nd season since the producer opted to focus on the ensemble. And Piper’s life inside was only visible and and acceptable whenever she was with Alex (look at all the VauseMans all over the globe) and the only way for Piper to engage with what’s happening inside should always have to do with Vause- the love of her life. And something compelling should happen that will trigger Chapman to finally go out of her shell and stop being a useless “protagonist” of the show. And I bet the only way to do that is to kill OITNB vixen- that is Alex. Well.. that’s just me. Coz I really think Piper’s character has long run out its course. It is only interesting when she’s with Alex Vause. Anyway, as long as my Nicky Nichols is there.. I am happy. 😉 Come back to this commebt after a year once S7 is released. 😉😉

I might just stop watching. Six is plenty. Tons of other shows to explore. And this season just had a vibe of finality, of coming full circle, to it. All that was missing would be a final scene of Piper typing the first sentence of her expose/memoir ... then we fade to black and run end credits.

But mean reason I wrote this comment is because I want to talk about the Dennings and yeah ok their fucked up psychotic crazy middle aged woman but I think they could have let them or one of them alive. Because I noticed that they seem knowledged, experienced, evil and crazy but tbh I think deep deep down inside them, they still teenagers and never really grown up I noticed it in the way they behave some times like their sudden anger outburst and how fast they try to caught them self like when carol said “Fuck unconditional Love, hates keep me warm at night” she almost shouted angrily Fuck but caught herself when she started with unconditional that are just little things they both do. So for some reason i think that their still teenagers with all of those hormones and shit but they cover it up pretty well. I don’t want to give them any right by doing all this shit they did but I thing they are just desperates sad and angry teenagers full of hormones.

My season 7 predictions:(Spoiler alert:don't read if you haven't finished season 6!)
-Piper will be back in prison,somehow her early release is a mistake..come on, how can they keep the series going without Piper?
-Alex will get extra time, can't have Piper without Alex!
-Tasha will finally have justice, and be cleared of Piscatella's murder, with the help by either Cindy or Caputo
- Aleida is back in prison after being caught with all the drugs she was smuggling in for Daya
-Blanca doesnt end up being deported
-Red won't give up on Frieda
-Badison gets jumped, wont hear from her again. Her character is weak without Carol around. Hopefully she disappears off the show.
-Fig and Caputo will not become a true relationship, true love never works out between those two. Just the other "thing" does. Both Fig and Caputo are terrible when it comes to romance!

Blanca didn't have any citzenship though. She was living in america illegally. I do think it's really sad she was locked up like that in a detention centre after thinking she was getting out. It's horrible.

More of these stories are open, I'm really sad for Blanca, i think this show how people feel when they are taking away from some countries. They aren't immigrants only, they are people and they have their own lives , feelings and a family.
They should make Season 7 when Alex get out and they both can be happy together the end
