It's not just my favorite by them, but it's also the song by them that I think Jay and Amber will like the most. I always try to keep their tastes in mind when I suggest a song to them.
The tall blonde is Graham Russell, he is English. The short with dark curly hair is Russell Hitchcock, and he is Australian, and he is the one with the big pipes. He can carry a tune forever. Perhaps that's why they named the band Air Supply. 🤔 My favorite songs from this group are "Now and Forever " and "Just As I Am". Hopefully, you can do a reaction to those two songs. By the way, you guys are awesome!
Little River Band is another aussie band you should check out. "Lady", "Cool Change", "Take It Easy On Me" are a few of their big hits from back in the late 70s/early 80s.
I was thinking the same thing, and that Air Supply also makes me want to hear Ambrosia from the same time period. (And I'd add the Little River Band's "Reminiscing" to your song list.)
The verse singer is Graham Russell and the chorus singer is Russell Hitchcock. You can't go wrong with anything they do. Russell Hitchcocks voice is amazing. I would recommend their song, "Making Love Out Of Nothing At All", which was written by Jim Steinman who wrote all of Meatloafs biggest hits.
In this song, Russell Hitchcock held the final note for 16.2 seconds, which was the longest ever note held for a male pop singer. Russell held that title until 1983, when Freddy Curci of Sheriff held the final note of "When I'm with You" for 19.4 seconds (another excellent song, btw). Air Supply was the soundtrack of every 80's school dance, and most weddings, too. Like Amber, I'm a sucker for a power ballad.
This kind of soft-rock OWNED the early 80s (but you knew that), and Air Supply was at the head of the line. ""Lost in Love", "Every Woman in the World", "The One That You Love", "Here I Am", "Sweet Dreams", "Even the Nights are Better", "Two Less Lonely People in the World", and "Making Love Out of Nothing at All" were all smash hits. The band was comprised of English-born singer-guitarist Graham Russell and Australian lead vocalist Russell HItchcock. They are still performing to this day.
Yes, you're so right about them still performing live! We saw them here in Vegas about 5 years ago and would go again! Every song they sing is a dream! 👍
Air Supply was the group in the eighties that dudes couldn't admit to their friends that they liked. But when they were alone in their car and this tune came on, they were belting out the words along to the song. Including me ! Great tune.
My pops listened to it and he was a real man 6'4 240. I used to look at my friends and think damn getting whooped by your little dad's can't be that bad, I could take that
Oh man did they have a huge string of hits. Their greatest hits is full of buttery pop tracks. They were so huge that they actually became uncool like disco had. But eventually came full circle again and now they get some respect.
Great description Slim. Every song they put out was a hit. Such an impressive catalog in a short time. Making Love Out of Nothing At All would be my next recommendation for a reaction.
Their song Making Love ( Out of Nothing At All ) was written by Jim Steinman - the same man that wrote Total Eclipse of the Heart by Bonnie Tyler and the Bat of Hell albums by Meat Loaf.
What's weird about that for me was ,I was 18 and had a girlfriend at the time "Making Love" and "Total Eclipse" came out (1983),we both loved them, and I remember thinking at the time they were great songs but that they both were VERY similar.Hats off to Jim Steinman for his great songs, and Meat Loaf,Air Supply and Bonnie Tyler for recording them!
Awe Air Supply all those ballads...such a smooooooth sound. Don't tell my Metal people I like them. My favorite Air Supply song is "Making Love Out Of Nothing At All" need to do this song!!
LOL yes, Air supply. Two guys on stage singing love songs to each other. This is the band The back in the Day you would never admit to your friends that you liked but when you're in the car by yourself you're turning up their songs and singing along with it.
They are a fantastic band. Their other hits include: Making Love Out of Nothing at all, Lost in Love, Even the Nights are Better, The One that You Love, Power of Love, Two Less Lonely People, Every Woman in the World, Without You, Now and Forever, and Sweet Dreams. You should give a listen to them.
I can almost guarantee that every teen from late 70's to early 80's has either cried while listening to an Air Supply, or had a make out session listening to an Air Supply song; but probably can relate to doing both!! This just makes me think of homecoming dances and prom 🤭🥰!
They are a duo consisting of English guitarist Graham Russel and Australian singer Russell Hitchcock. If you are soft rock fans, this is the band to dive into.
Dang, I was thinking he played guitar 🎸 left handed because he was from the southern hemisphere (like the toilets flush counter clockwise). But wrong one 😂
The ex loved these guys. My favorite story is Russel Hitchcock falling off the stage and breaking his arm reaching for a rose brought down by some 14 year old girl. I'm all out stage, I'm falling onto you, I knew you were young so I tried not to tooooouch.
@@ckobo84 Oooow, …. close. He played left handed when performing in the Southern Hemisphere, and right handed in the Northern. So, you were not technically correct, but on the right track and very nearly there though.
Love Air Supply is a great Duo. I've heard them in concert they played at my college and where they played was close to my dorm I could hear the whole concert from my dorm room just had to open the window. Good memories. Every Woman in the world, Two less lonely people, Even the nights are better, Here I Am.
When we go on vacation we play Air Supply’s greatest hits and sing the parts. This was the music we fell in and out of love to. Keep bringing the old stuff.
There is a guy from the late 70’s named Leo Sayer who has a voice that compares with this gentleman. Listen to (When I need you) if you are looking for a ballad, it also has a haunting saxophone solo. If you want more upbeat, give a listen to (You make me feel like dancing). He had several hits in that era.
Man, I LOVE Air Supply!!! They took the power ballad & ran with it. 😌 I've always wondered why they cut out a few measures in the beginning of the video. It doesn't save much time, and cuts out some great strings. Ah well. This is my favorite song of theirs. This is DEFINITELY a rabbit hole you want to go down. "Making Love Out Of Nothing At All," "Every Woman In The World," "Here I Am (Just When I Thought I Was Over You)," "Sweet Dreams" and "Even The Nights Are Better" are essential!!! I guess I should include their only #1 hit in the USA, "The One That You Love." You will LOVE his voice at the end.
A band I know well. I don't know what member of my family collected their albums or gave them to me, but I was introducing myself to Air Supply in the 90s when everyone else my age was listening to Nirvana. I don't regret it. Air Supply produced an excellent collection of music in the late 70s and early 80s. A lot of their songs that were never hits were still great songs. Off the top of my head I can't think of a bad song from them. I encourage you to just play one of their albums - greatest hits or just any old album they put out - and give it a listen. Great music to play when engaged in creative activity or just needing to relax and separate from the stress of the day. Great song. Great band. Thank you for the review.
Fun Funny fact: the Air Supply song "Two Less Lonely People" has often been used during hockey games when two players from the visiting team are in the penalty box at the same time!
These men met when Graham was trying out for the musical, "Jesus Christ Superstar" in Australia. Have seen them 4 times in Vegas and they still sound the same as they did 35 years ago.

"Making Love Out of Nothing at All" I think is their biggest hit. And I think showcases their vocals the best.
Air Supply is my favorite, tied with E.L.O. and Boston. Please do more of Air Supply. "The One that you Love" or "Making Love out of Nothing at All".
Air supply! They were the band that sang romantic songs in the 80s. I love all their songs. You really can’t go wrong with any of their songs. One of my favorite song is called here I am. Great reaction!
Making Love Outta Nothing At All - Every Woman in the World - I Can Wait Forever - Just As I Am - Lost in Love - The One That You Love - The Book of Love - When I Say - Let's Stay Together - Sweet Dreams -Heart of the Rose - Unchained Melody - Someone - The Spirit of Love. These are incredible Air Supply recordings. Enjoy the rabbit hole. They STILL sound so good!
Air Supply topped the charts all through the 80s. They are still touring to this day. Saw them a few years ago. Still killing it. PLEASE DO THEIR SONG, SWEET DREAMS.
I Agree 100% with "SWEET DREAMS". Please Check It Out!
Awesome song❤❤❤
Air supply has the most beautiful songs, lyrically and musically, absolutely beautiful!
Saw this on your patreon and I was like yes! Air Supply has a lot of great ballads. Check out “Making Love Out Of Nothing At All” led by Russell Hitchcock, who is the one with the higher voice (tenor).
Now you gotta react to “Chances”, “Here I Am(Just When I Thought I was Over You)”, “The One That You Love” & “Two Less Lonely People in the World”….y’all gotta go down the rabbit hole of Air Supply love songs ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
The 1980's started with a dominant run by Air Supply
7 straight Top 5 singles.
This was their second hit in the U.S., reaching #2 in 1980.
I have this album ( yes, vinyl ) and I used to listen to it in my room in the barracks when I was a young airman serving in the US Air Force back in the early eighties. Man, it seems like a lifetime ago.
This band had so many hits in the 80s. You have to check out their catalog.
I saw them in 2002 in AC. Russell's voice was gone. He even thanked Graham for carrying the show.
My favorite from Air Supply is "Lost in Love" followed by "Even The Nights Are Better". A great reaction by you two! Thanks for this one :)
Sweet Dreams first caught my attention for Air Supply, and then it was just hit after hit, All Out Of Love, Even The Nights Are Better, Every Woman In The World, Even The Nights Are Better, Lost In Love, The One That You Love, Here I am, Just As I Am, Without You, Two Less Lonely People In The World, and Making Love Out of Love of Nothing At All
