I had a friend who worked in a restaurant in the mall. I stopped by to see him one night on my way to the record store. I said "I'm heading to the record store, want me to grab you anything?" He leaned in closer, and said in a low voice "Get me Air Supply's greatest hits, but keep it on the down low, ya know what I'm saying?" Guys weren't proud to like Air Supply, but we liked'em
Personally not true with me. I had their Greatest Hits and the music book with lyrics. I had hoped to use some of the songs for romance. Didn't happen. Unfortunately, that among other musical tapes, CDs, records (Both my deceased Mom's and my collections) were lost in a public storage unit auction in 2012. Couldn't pay the rent on the unit. Anyway, really great collection of love songs of the 80s. Try these songs. Even The Nights Are Better, Every Woman In The World, ( The song that basically summed up my hope for love), Here I Am,
This and "Making Love Out of Nothing At All" are my favorites by them. You have to listen to that one too! Oh and I forgot one more - "Just As I Am". Their lyrics and voices had such passion - I think that's why they were so popular. I listened to this one on my cassette player over and over after my first heartbreak in high school 😭 When I hear it again, I'm back there thinking of him and it still brings a tear to my eye - along with probably many more people here too! I knew it would but had to click anyway - I'm just a masochist I guess 😁
This is Soft Rock at its' best y'all! You seriously need to give Little River Band a listen.......''Lady'', ''Cool Change'' and "Take It Easy On Me'' for starters! You won't be disappointed!
Still love them after these years. I just saw them back in January, and they still sound great. The crowd still knows all the words. They're definitely old school.
Asia and BJ it is your loyal friend Ray from California, Air Supply also sings The Power Of Love, but switched the words around To You are my lady and I Am Your Man 😁 They were the second one's to sing this Song. Originally performed by Jennifer Rush, Celine was the Third one to sing The Song and then of course Marcelito Pomoy. But listen to Air Supply's version of the Song my Friends 😇
@@chrisoakley5830 You are probably right. My awareness of music in that period is sketchy because just a kid, but I can look back as an adult now and know despite not aware enough to consciously listen to music then I must have heard it in background so there is stuff like Bee Gees, Abba, Oliva Newton-John, Air Supply and Bon Scott era of AC/DC that just my first memories of music and it make me think of my early childhood memories.

@@utubnagain Yeah, I know but for some reason I get confused between them and Little River Band as same band as they two of bands from here I not listened to, a whole lot and think of them as more bands suited to Americans than here. Classic song of that period.
I’m an 80’s girl and have always loved Air Supply. This is my first time commenting on one of your videos as I just found your channel a couple days ago. I have to say… Asia, you are so pretty and BJ, it warms my heart the way you look at Asia. Too sweet. Now I have to get caught up on your videos.😉
Air Supply seemed to be everywhere when I was a teen in the 80s. We used to be writing their lyrics in our notebooks at school. It was the best time, it seemed like yesterday.
Wife here..Soft Rock Royalty!!..Even as a small child of the late seventies...I Loved the song....Even though it definitely has a sad vibe.."Very Dramatic..Love the harmony towards the end of the song..You both are spot on about how having and losing love can truly make you feel!! Spot on as always!!
Try their songs - making love out of nothing, lost in love, even nights are better, every woman in the world , here I am, the one that you love. Great singers..
Air Supply is still one of my favorites. This came out the year after I graduated from high school. I loved soft rock and what's known as bubblegum pop now. I was a Donny Osmond girl as a preteen and a teen.
i was in my early twenties when this group came out and i have loved their music ever since . Lost In Love and Every Woman In The World are two of my favorites . love your channel . thanks for keeping this music alive .
Oh my God I love air supply so much! I was a tween and teen in the 80s and when you had a crush and you heard this song it was everything lol! I’ll kidding aside. This band is f’ing awesome.
Happy to hear someone else refer to it as Jr. High instead of middle school. 7th and 8th grade? This was one song you did not want to be on the sidelines for at the dance.
"Sweet Dreams" by Air Supply is a powerful ballad. "Every Woman In The World" is my favorite. The first 45-inch single I bought in 1981 is "Here I Am" by Air Supply.
This song deals with the unrequited love of a singer who feels lost without the object of his affection. A love song about someone who broke up with their girlfriend and now asking for forgiveness. The band’s biggest fans - known affectionately as Air Heads.
I operated with guys in the 80's that liked a certain type of music and Air Supply didn't feature in there. I actually loved there song and was a closet AS fan. Their love songs were always there to sooth me and it was relatable to what we experienced as youth and young adults.
Nice 👍 It looked like BJ was about to cry 😭 for a minute there. One of the best concert's I've been to ,they have such an extensive catalogue of music good easy listening and they are so entertaining.👍😭🎵🥝🇳🇿
I was pretty young when Air Supply came out I loved them but my wife was older and absolutely loved them. I was able to get a first press of this album and get it signed by Air Supply. This is one of their best tunes. My favorite
Since more then 40 years am i listening to them...And i still Love the Songs...That was real good Music...Cheers and Peace out to all of you...Love from Switzerland
Another classic from Down Under. They had a short but spectacular career. Always proud when Kasey Kasem announced that Air Supply was #1 on American Top 40 which was played in Australia every week.
Funny story, in 2002 there was a Chris Rock movie: "Bad Company" and "All Out Of Love" sung by Air Supply is played in a scene where Chris Rock is doing a DJ thing in a club. He switches from dance music to "All Out of Love" because he broke up with his girlfriend (played by Carrie Washington). Everyone on the dance floor gets upset except for one Caucasian female who stands in front of him smiling and swaying to the music. It is a comedic scene. Then the scene changes and the song continues but is then being sung by another group sung R&B style. The R & B group was Jagged Edge.
Hey guys great reaction! This was a huge song back in the early eighties. I remember as a kid listening to America's top 40 with Casey Kaysome I believe it was number one for about 4 or 6 weeks Enjoy!
English-born singer-songwriter and guitarist Graham Russell and Australian lead vocalist Russell Hitchcock, formed in Melbourne in 1975. They have released 17 studio albums, 13 compilation albums, 4 live albums and 27 singles.
I remember a time when people used to write a letter or call a radio station (KOST103.5 FM) and request this song. People had arguments, disagreements etc and would dedicate this song to their lover. The radio dj would read the letters on the air. It was a cool concept when you could actually request songs and dedicate them to whoever you wanted. I think I just made myself feel old. Hahaha.
A friend of mine put it best after breaking up with his girlfriend, “Breaking up feels worse than falling in love feels good.” This song was popular when he went through that heartbreak. It’s one of those human emotions that transcends all time and cultures.
Air Supply.......some of the greatest songs and two of the greatest singers, Russell Hitchcock and Graham Russell. in the history of recording. A huge catalogue and not a single bad song in it.
I love these guys and they’re still touring hundred plus shows a year and pack the house all over the world! I’ve got tickets to go see them in California this year and I can’t wait for Valentine’s Day!

A good explanation for the name Air Supply. We need oxygen to breathe. And, I love their music. Been listening since I was a child (without knowing their name until 1992).

Nice reaction, Making Love Out of Nothing at All s is an amazing song. Jim Steinman (Meatloaf) wrote that one, you can feel his vibe.
Their first was *LOST IN LOVE* peaked at #3 exactly 42 years ago this month, May 1980. It was a huge hit of theirs, total classic, add it to the list
Still love them after these years. I just saw them back in January, and they still sound great. The crowd still knows all the words. They're definitely old school.
I love how BJ is slowly turning into a yacht rock fan. It won’t be long and he will have the sweater tied around his neck

This was a huge soft rock hit back when it was released in 1980.

When Asia said "love sucks" as she started reacting to the song, made me think they should react to the song "Love Stinks" by the J. Geils Band.
"Sweet Dreams" by Air Supply is a powerful ballad. "Every Woman In The World" is my favorite. The first 45-inch single I bought in 1981 is "Here I Am" by Air Supply.
