Me too. I had tweaked Traxion GG recommended settings, but they were good but not right. And the car would do strange things on the limit. CHanged the settings, tweaksed them a bit based on Emrz's descriptions, and now I'm in driving nirvana. A 911 Carrera with light mods on Watkins! Yes please!!!!!
Really appreciate the video. The game is beyond frustrating currently. I have DD Pro 8nm, McLaren GT3v2 wheel and the club sport v3 pedals. I am yet to find a single set of settings that feel even close to the ballpark of iRacing or GT7. So many times in testing I actually end up losing all acceleration (degrades on a sliding scale) and then bizarre sound effects that get worse and worse. Xbox series x fwiw. Hopefully a patch helps. Ermz setup is way more soft and easier to steer. But my first setup is harder and aggressive, but you can feel the limit of the tires. 🫠
I totally agree. Forza has always previously been terrible with a wheel, but after spending all weekend in my rig fine tuning the FFB, it was worth it. I'm frankly amazed at the amount of information and feeling that they put in this. Talk about a complete 180 turnaround. Never had this much fun with Forza game.
Being new to racing games having just purchased a moza wheel this has helped heaps. I was close to refunding the game. There are way too many settings for an amateur like me needs to adjust to make it playable/enjoyable. Cheers
This is the best, most concise video for FFB on FM that I have seen showing what they do in the telemetry.. I did my own deep dive video that came close to your settings, though mine was not concise at all. More like a 50 minute slog.
I actually love that the devs have left all these options to configure it exactly as you like. FFB in ACC has been broken for me until their last big patch, where they finally fixed it somehow. Thank you so much for this video, the difference in ffb is night and day. Having an absolute blast with my CSL DD8 I can't believe that they've launched the game with literally unplayable stock settings. Once again, really appreciate your help dude!
Mate, you are a lifesaver! The setup you proposed did wonders for me, my times are better, sector scores are way better! I was going bananas before, figuring out why the steering wheel did not work for me. Many, many thanks!
Just tried your settings and I love it. Coming from ACC those Settings work pretty well for me. Thank you for the work. Since the start of the early access I was looking for good settings for my csl dd. big thanks again
This is a great video but I also really recommend the hoki hoshi one. The settings needed for gear/belt wheels are quite different to DD wheels. I find their settings much better for my g923
Just goes to show how turn 10 really should have developed a tool to auto config it like iracing has. cause on my csl dd his settings felt like crap compared to these. I fear a lot of people getting their first wheel for this game, who don't understand ffb, will end up using the wrong settings and it could be hindering their enjoyment
@@golfboy7438 I am using a dd wheelbut a friend of mine is using a Logitech g29 or something like that and he likes hokis settings but you test it andvtemwesl it here and thete Hoki released a superb video about the settings, I recommend watching it.
@@golfboy7438 I would watch the video but imho the belt/gear settings in that video are better for cheaper belt/gear wheels. Ultimately though, it only takes 2 mins to change the settings and try out both sets, so you can always do that to set your mind at rest.
Great vid man.... I did the exact same thing. I've been sim racing for the greater part of 6-7 years and have gained an extreme knowledge of sim racing, and what I like for setting for my style of driving. I searched and searched for settings and this was usually the way I'd get a starting point. There' really isn't a setting out there that you can start from. They're all garbage if you aske me. So I put my head down for 2-3 hours and I've honed into something that's amazing for me. I suggest you all do the same. A lot of us already know what the main settings are. If you don't know what the setting does, I simply set it to the extreme opposite to see if I notice anything with it, and you will find out what it does that way. Then go back to where it was, and go from there. I'd post my settings, but there's so many factors, like what wheelbase, what game, what console etc. all come into play and if you don't have the exact same shit, what's the point?
I’ve tried so many peoples settings over these last few days, even tried tuning my own in and finally yesterday got to a point I was pretty happy with them. Then I saw your video and thought okay I’ll try yours just to see if they’re any better than what I have, so I applied them and they were terrible. The car felt stupidly light with basically no feedback coming through and then I remembered the key part that you mentioned that I haven’t really heard anyone else talk about, adjusting the FFB scale PER CAR. I was driving the Acura #36 NSX and I boosted the FFB scale and suddenly your settings came to life! So I think the FFB per car thing is a massive deal in this game, at least at this stage it is so thank you for that!
But wouldn't it be easier to use a slightly more aggressive setup right away that is noticeable without having to test and adjust it individually for each car? Because my first setup is a bit more aggressive, but is not as easy/light to steer as Ermz's (before you change the strength of each car). Lap times I drive the same with different cars and different tracks, it's really annoying now...
@@tobireindltrust me I tired so many different setups and tried tweaking my own as well, but boosting the individual cars FFB strength combined with Ermz setup is the best I’ve got this game feeling and also is as close as I’m used to with the feeling of other racing games
@@tobireindlwell so far I’ve only done it with 1 car because I literally found this video like 2 hours ago. But I was using the Acura and there was basically no feedback, so I boosted the car’s individual feedback up from 100% to 175% because of how lacking the feedback felt, and that made it feel pretty damn good. I could probably turn it down 10% or so, but you if you think a cars feedback is too strong for example then you can roughly gauge how much to reduce it by and vis-versa
THANK YOU!...I just purchased my first wheel and wasn't feeling the whole experience until I tried your settings and BAM!...my eyes were opened and had a huge grin. Now I'm ready to get back into my teenage passion.
I used this setup for a couple of weeks and found the steering to be too vauge for my liking. When I would get crossed up, I had absolutely no idea of what the front tires were doing. Some of the changes I've made was to greatly increase the pneumatic trail, the center spring scale, the dynamic damper effect and dynamic damper setting. I just ean a test of my amended settings with a C-500 Pontiac TransAm Ram Air at a rainy Indiannapolis Infield. The car was way more communicative then before I raised those settings. I thought tire feel was nonexistant in the new Forza Motorsport, but I was completely surprised that the game has great tire feel. The catch, we have to find those settings on our end, but they can be found. Ermz' setup is an excellent baseline. From what he has, dial up the effect you feel you need, and save your settings as an additional copy so you can revert to his settings in case you bork something. Happy driving!
thanks for explaining what the settings affect and not just dumping values without explanation like many youtubers do. Your comment on ACC delivering a wondeful ffb without much settings for users to get lost in like forza is spot on. so lazy of them.
Thanks so much Bro, these settings are absolutely amazing. So much appreciated. I have a T818 and damn default settings were just horrendous. Yours helped so much, only video that has helped me. finally enjoying driving the game, now if they can fix the graphic issues. Thanks again
I remember you saying on stream you couldn't find any decent settings for the wheel. I'm glad you found something that works. I think it's also good that they do give the option to expose all these settings because people will have unique preferences and it's better to have a game that can cater to anyone willing rather than just a subset of the playerbase. That said, obviously the default wheel settings are straight garbage according to everyone who has tried it so far. There's no reason they don't have better default settings.
thank you dude! I don't have to consciously think about how to correct the car anymore and can rely on muscle memory again lol. the tip at 1:20 was a lifesaver too. it didn't occur to me that anything other than 0 and 100 would be the default. what a bizarre choice, imo. no wonder braking zones felt like a complete gamble
I’ve tried plenty of settings and was going to give up and sell my rig. I appreciate you putting this out there. I’ve been hooked the past two days. 🎉

Amazing review and a great point about over-exposing settings and effects to end users. This puts the onus on the user to make the car "feel" right. Effects are a band-aid solution and on their way out as physics engines and processors get better... Thorough review and to the point.
Even if people don't fully agree with how the setup should be, the fact that you're highlighting and explaining each setting is enough to be a good starter guide for anyone going into this game with a wheel, because like you said, the base layout really is dogsh-
My first setup was all about changes in the fanatec tuning menu besides the load sensitivity to 70. Still cannot decide if Ermz setup or my first is better for driving, lap times are the same with both setups, tested the last 6h now..
Wow, just wow! I came to this video, tried your settings with my G920 and all I can say is that Forza Motorsport feels like a whole new game for me now. It's amazing how much the driving experience changes with this settings, but it is what it is lol Thanks dude, my Nissan 370z feels better than ever after this video 😄
I've just tried these settings on my Thrustmaster TMX and I'm really pleased with the outcome already. I might want to fiddle around a bit more to get the perfect feel but that's a really good starting point here! Thx for sharing and explaining your settings!
I am trying out the same. I can't feel when the car starts to lose grip and slides. I just feel it when it is to late and the car goes sideways -_-. For racing I should feel the edge before that happens ...
Until now i have been using the setting provided by IGN. I can honestly say that your guid here has improved my experience 10-fold, It's a completely different experience at this point. For a newbie like me, with a Moza R3 on an Xbox, it's magic. Thank you so much!
These settings have transformed the game for me. So much better now. Although I have reverted to using a couple of driving assists to match my skill level, with Traction and Stability control set to sport. Thanks so much for this video. Really appreciated
Thank you so much, was about to leave the game because of that strange feeling that i was having with the dd pro since the configuration options seemed overwhelming. The experience has totally changed for better.
Ok, now that's awesome. I've just tried your settings/suggestions with a relatively stock G80 M3 and then with my built Cayman GTS and it's absolutely amazing. The M3 felt incredibly good right in the first moment and the difference in control and just overall drivability on the GTS in comparison to the last time I drove it is just mind-blowing. I already enjoyed FM before, but now it's really just on another level. I'm using a Logitech G920 on my Xbox Series X and I only had to turn the force feedback strength down to 70 to prevent clipping. I had to lower it a bit more in the tuning menu for the Porsche, but other than that, all of your suggestions work perfectly fine for me. Thank you so much for that video, ermz 😁
A little Forza history. Back prior to FM7, all FFB was how you said T10 should have had it, all hidden away and programmed by them. Due to mass complaints from wheel users, T10 completely redid how FFB worked during FM7's life cycle, and implemented most of those things into Forza Horizon too. I will say, as a long term Forza player (played since the original FM on the OG Xbox). Wheel force feedback was an over dampened mess prior to these changes.
Exactly. This Forza feels GREAT compared to previous games. I’m playing on a Simagic Alpha Ultimate and it feels great. Night and day difference to older titles.
Ive got a identical rig. Can not describe how much better these settings are than every other big name's settings. You can actually feel the car and the game has come alive. I was ready to give up because i couldn't get any where near my controller time's, first try with these settings, i got pole and won in a super competitive touring car race. I cannot thank you enough bro
So i played a few Hours with Ur settings and it is breahtaking!! In comparison to my settings befor or the Basic settings. I now have Trust in the Cars in the Wheel and can Push through corners. If i loose the car and crashed, it is my falt and Not the falt of the Wheel Like it was bevor. Thank u ! ❤❤❤❤
Just used your setting on my tm tx leather edition and these are the best settings ive found yet ! Tried 3 others yest. And they were ok for some cars the settings i had i liked but kept losing races online didnt know if it was me or my settings. Driving gt3 cars now feels amazing with your setup applied lets hope this is a game changer 🙌
Thank you. I just bought my first wheel (logitech 920- i know, it's cheap, but, retiree on a budget) and spent all day yesterday trying to figure out how to get it to work in a quasi-realistic way. I tend to run my racecars (irl) with an overboosted setup, because I find that much less fatiguing on longer races. trying to replicate that in Forza has been a bit of a nightmare. Gonna give your settings a shot, and work from there.
Be warned, he is using a DD wheel not one thst u are using so it will nog work that great. I myself have a G920 and am still trying to find the right settings. My frist wheel that I bought yesterday. I really have te get used to it and I'm really faster with a controller still😅
I agree, after buying a $300 starter wheel and a $60 game... I shouldn't have to do weeks or research to get it to feel even remotely drivable. T10 has somehow created a terrific controller game with basically zero support for pretty standard peripherals. Just setup these settings and OMFG thank you! I can finally drive. Went from 22-24th places to 1st on the wheel.
Thanks for this guide, these are the best settings ive seen so far, I've tweaked them a bit for my own prefernce but they were a great starting point. Some cars were almost undrivable using the settings i had. The 2016 Potsche GT3 rs was impossible to get round a lap of maple valley without spinning out at the slightest change of direction.
Wow....😮 These settings man. Follow, and spread the news. This made the game fun beyond belief. I never thought I could actually go without TCS / stab. Only thing I needed was abs for now. But really. Feels like there's a car to control now! So much fun
Great video and I will try your recommendation for sure. From my perspective I love having all these options and being limited or boxed into what Forza think my experience should be. I do however think they should had included presets for the beginners. I’m using a Moza R9 wheel base and I love the extra sensory the settings allow me to have! Again great video 😊
I've seen this a few times. Yes, I'm slow...but I wrote it down now...hahahah. Thanks for the time to explain! My biggest takeaway is comments about us not needing to be exposed to all of this. What the heck, was this just laziness or focus on something else? Isn't it all about the driving experience? Yes, and right now I have little to none on a Deluxe pre-purchase. For now, I'll just keep trying to get Moza R12 Base tuned. Thanks for tuning advice!
Thanks! Best settings for me so far. I only adjust the force feedback to around 70 for the FWD and then 100-130 for GT3 and RWD... these settings are for me closest to somehthing like Rfactor2
When I first turned the game on, I thought, hmm for a forza game the wheel doesn't feel that bad... but let's try the new settings just to be sure. Yeah crazy upgrade. Thank you, I'm enjoying the game 100 times more with your settings!
Holy shit these are amazing settings, stumbled on it 10 minutes before my first time booting up the game and I don’t wanna change a thing it feels perfect ty (CSL DD 8nm)
So set ffb at 120 and adjust per car to get the feel right and avoid clipping? I did notice some cars feel very light and others are pushing close to clipping
Thank you so much! 🙏 I was thinking about returning the steering wheel because I heated it. Every other settings video had settings that would make the wheel shake violently if I took my hands off the wheel.
I'm fairly new to racing with having just upgraded from a G920 to Fanatec CSL DD......i thought I was happy with the STD setting in FM due to having little to No ffb with ACC on a Series X!! I'll give theses settings a try when I get online next, Thank for taking the time to explain what each setting does, much appreciated 👍
Say what you want about exposing all these settings, but this is still one of the few games where my wheel actually feels good to use. Your example of ACC was another example though I had to tweak way more than you're giving that game credit as well. Most games just don't feel good on cheaper wheels (which is what I have).
Thank you so much for this video. Having the DD PRO, you leveled up my gaming experience for this game. Default settings are simply garbage. Turn10 must do something for this and they should listen to your video!
The amount of settings i dont see as a bad thing but from all the reviews online the default being so far away is criminal there needs to be an update to at least get everyone in the ball park preferably with presets for different wheels
Yea there really should be presets for different wheels but honestly I can't think of a single sim racing game I haven't had to adjust my settings it just comes with the territory of owning a wheel and their neing so many different brands to choose from.
This was a game changer for me. I had not played since launch and couldn't get the base settings right. I now play Forza thanks to you. Would you be able to do the same kind of video for ACC🙏🏽🙏🏽

Agree, hokis settings feel the best and most fun. Playing without road feel and vibrations is boring and feels lack luster.
@@Gelangweilterare hokis better for a cheaper Thrustmaster wheel?
@@golfboy7438 I am using a dd wheelbut a friend of mine is using a Logitech g29 or something like that and he likes hokis settings but you test it andvtemwesl it here and thete
Hoki released a superb video about the settings, I recommend watching it.
@@TimmyTheSnail So you just play around with the strength on every car you drive for the first few times until you find the "sweet spot"? 🤔
Me too, and I spent 5 days fiddling and fine-tuning my setup. This setup with FFS tuning for each car is the biz.@@TimmyTheSnail
THANK YOU!...I just purchased my first wheel and wasn't feeling the whole experience until I tried your settings and BAM!...my eyes were opened and had a huge grin. Now I'm ready to get back into my teenage passion.
Cannot wait to get home from work and give these a go. You the man Ermz, been waiting for this.
I use the same gear and these settings were exactly what I was looking for!
I just did these settings , and the game feels absolutely amazing
I agree although I'd still point towards HokiHoshi for a setup guide
OMG finally someone who shared perfect settings. Give this man a cookie. Thank you !
Great video and explanation, Ermz! These in game settings work really well on my T818. Still dialing it in but it's a great foundation!
Thanks for this video man, I can't wait to get off work and test out some different settings
Wow, just wow! I came to this video, tried your settings with my G920 and all I can say is that Forza Motorsport feels like a whole new game for me now. It's amazing how much the driving experience changes with this settings, but it is what it is lol
Thanks dude, my Nissan 370z feels better than ever after this video 😄
I've just tried these settings on my Thrustmaster TMX and I'm really pleased with the outcome already. I might want to fiddle around a bit more to get the perfect feel but that's a really good starting point here! Thx for sharing and explaining your settings!
do you feel the curbs ?
I am trying out the same. I can't feel when the car starts to lose grip and slides. I just feel it when it is to late and the car goes sideways -_-. For racing I should feel the edge before that happens ...
Until now i have been using the setting provided by IGN.
I can honestly say that your guid here has improved my experience 10-fold, It's a completely different experience at this point.
For a newbie like me, with a Moza R3 on an Xbox, it's magic. Thank you so much!
These settings honestly saved this game for me 🤩
These settings have transformed the game for me.
Night and day difference to older titles.
erms always the goat for settings, and its on the same wheelbase, ur settings with very slight tweaks worked perfectly
Ive got a identical rig. Can not describe how much better these settings are than every other big name's settings. You can actually feel the car and the game has come alive. I was ready to give up because i couldn't get any where near my controller time's, first try with these settings, i got pole and won in a super competitive touring car race. I cannot thank you enough bro
thanks for this. I tried these settings on forza motorsport 7 for the previous gen xbox and wow it works a treat! thank you buddy
Great video will keep eye out for update I'm new to forza without this would have no idea
Thank u ! ❤❤❤❤
Thanks! Great starting point for my CSL Elite! Feels that much better! 👍
I really have te get used to it and I'm really faster with a controller still😅
Try the setting from Hoshi Hoki, better for G series wheels.@@stabilozz
What is an overboosted setup? Do you mean steering assistance?
Dude c'mon what is this... I have also a gt dd pro and what a GREAT settings !! The most natural imo, thank u so much for sharing this
Thanks for the vid! As a User Experience professional myself, I 100% agree with your last point. Straight up lazy on Turn 10s part.
Jeez brother 3 vids in the month! glad to have you in the feed again
Great video! Thank you and keep up the good work! Informative, clear, high-quality and accessible. Looking forward to more FM videos.
Thanks! These settings worked great for me on my CSL Elite, just turned the road feel up a little more
Thanks for this guide, these are the best settings ive seen so far, I've tweaked them a bit for my own prefernce but they were a great starting point. Some cars were almost undrivable using the settings i had. The 2016 Potsche GT3 rs was impossible to get round a lap of maple valley without spinning out at the slightest change of direction.
That ending big facts 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Rolex Daytona 116520?
Thanks for taking the time to put this together.
My favorite settings for:
Logitech G920
Vibration: 0
FFB Scale: 75 (Any more and heavy-steering cars clip)
Steering self-alignment: 100
Mechanical trail: 150
Pneumatic trail: 50
Road feel: 100
Load sensitivity: 0 (Anything above is a non-linear load build and feels unnatural)
Damper: 0
Center spring: 0
Dynamic damper: 0
Steering sensitivity: 50
Steering linearity: 50
AS always super nice video man. Helped a lot !!! I hope to see you making WRC videos in the future
I prefer more than less options, especially in a game where you tune and upgrade your car and every single change feels like a huge difference.
You must be playing a different game then
Thank you for your help with this. This changed the game for me. It is so much better with these settings. 😃
Awesome Man, i have tried 8-9 Settings but this feels 110%
Wow now this makes the game more realistic great settings best one out of 20 videos
These settings do not mix badly with the steering wheel of the Trustmaster T150. Thank you very much.
Thanks
I've seen this a few times. Yes, I'm slow...but I wrote it down now...hahahah. Thanks for the time to explain! My biggest takeaway is comments about us not needing to be exposed to all of this. What the heck, was this just laziness or focus on something else? Isn't it all about the driving experience? Yes, and right now I have little to none on a Deluxe pre-purchase. For now, I'll just keep trying to get Moza R12 Base tuned. Thanks for tuning advice!
Great settings, thanks for your effort. Works great with my DD Pro.
This Video is well done! Thank you! Was really nice to watch.
Holy shit these are amazing settings, stumbled on it 10 minutes before my first time booting up the game and I don’t wanna change a thing it feels perfect ty (CSL DD 8nm)
I never knew about the car ffb in the tuning menu. Been going back and forth with each race.
So set ffb at 120 and adjust per car to get the feel right and avoid clipping? I did notice some cars feel very light and others are pushing close to clipping
found you for moza settings in forza... thank you bro!
Thank you so much! 🙏 I was thinking about returning the steering wheel because I heated it. Every other settings video had settings that would make the wheel shake violently if I took my hands off the wheel.
I missed your video! Welcome back!!
Most games just don't feel good on cheaper wheels (which is what I have).
thanks, look forward to the review
You just saved the game. Congrats!!
Had to comment again. This game is outrageously fun with these settings. I'm going insane right now 😂
Just ordered a logitch G920 for Forza today. I havent had a racing wheel since the 360. Excited to learn wheel again
Great explanation. Care to share your fanatec wheel base setting aswell? Much appreciated.
All the settings that are show from 3:50 in the video are not there for me. I play on a xbox series x with Thrustmaster TMX wheel. Is that normal?
Found the problem, the wheel needs to be connected to see those settings.
Even i plug it in, none of these settings show up for me.
Thank you so much for this video. Having the DD PRO, you leveled up my gaming experience for this game. Default settings are simply garbage. Turn10 must do something for this and they should listen to your video!
This game is put together very well raced first time online I never made podium excellent multiplayer racing with spec
If you have awesome enemies to race against, I can believe the multiplayer is great 🫠
The amount of settings i dont see as a bad thing but from all the reviews online the default being so far away is criminal there needs to be an update to at least get everyone in the ball park preferably with presets for different wheels
Yea there really should be presets for different wheels but honestly I can't think of a single sim racing game I haven't had to adjust my settings it just comes with the territory of owning a wheel and their neing so many different brands to choose from.
Great information with even better context thank you 🙏🏾
Jeez man, getting into this hobby feels like I opened Pandora’s box, idek what to do with my settings in g hub 😂
Awsome guide first forza that feels ok on the wheel, thanks mate 👍🏿 n keep smiling
I turned one thing down slightly, but DAMN these settings are sooo good! Thank you! Really appreseate (spelling is f-ed) this!
This was a game changer for me. I had not played since launch and couldn't get the base settings right. I now play Forza thanks to you. Would you be able to do the same kind of video for ACC🙏🏽🙏🏽
Won my first race with these settings Logitech g920 appreciate u
very helpfull! made it very playable with a T300 in my hands! thank you
I'd like to try these, but what about the settings for the wheel in the Fanatec Control Panel? How should they be set up?
