I find it amazing that the same folks behind the Paper Mario series also made this. Seeing as how the first Paper Mario was released only the previous year (August 2000 vs. July 2001 for both Japanese releases), it’s kind of amazing that they managed to get this out.
Mario Kart Super Circuit is a very underrated game. It introduced a lot of stuff to the Mario kart series like Online play, 1P VS. (called quick run in this game), introduced ranks (one star, two star, etc.), and introduced the idea of retro courses. A lot of firsts that are standard in future games started out in this forgotten hidden gem
@@supermarioglitchy321 Japanese versions of certain GBC and GBA games could connect to the internet via a mobile phone adapter back in 2000-2002. These include Pokemon Crystal and Mario Kart Super Circuit, among a few others.
Imagine in a real F1-race one of the racers starts the race by turning 180 degrees and then hitting a wall bunch of times and finishing the race in a few seconds. The audience and the commentators would be stunned
What ive learned from the video: Bananas + Wall = Win Toad can manipulate time Peach does that too Yoshi can do a cool looking skip only he can do on Sky Garden
Lakitu: "Hey, you can't just declare yourself the winner 4 seconds after the race starts." Toad: "I have a warrant." *Hands Lakitu a banana peel with "I can do what I want" written on it* As fun as it is to see this game demolished methodically, I hope a new "No SC" TAS comes around eventually! There were precious few tracks that were played reasonably normally, and those were a real treat to watch, lol.
12:45 Ending the race in 2 seconds is truely impressive. Now I imagine Toad waiting at the finish line for about 30 secondes and say something like:"Wow you really takes your time guys". xD
I like to think that it's canonical that every character within this universe sees everything these racers are doing, but views it as normal and doesn't care at all
Drifting in Super Circuit has you press and hold the jump button (R, if I recall correctly), then alternate pressing left and right on the D-pad. After you do this up to three times, release the jump to mini-turbo.
those computer times are insane. on rainbow road it takes the AI 20-25 seconds to do a single lap onscreen, but they do the next four laps offscreen in roughly 5-6 seconds each. that's only twice as long as the TAS which skips the entire track!
If you're here for super fast completion and glitches, you're in the right place. You're in the wrong place if you're here for lengthy and varied gameplay.
I think I'm a part of the "hot-take" group of Mario Kart players, so here goes: "Super Mario Kart (and thus Super Circuit by proxy), together with Double Dash and 7, are the best Mario Kart games."
wow, what's up with those glitches? This is the worst Mario kart I have ever played in my entire life, it doesn't control well, the drifts are excessive, it is without a doubt the most disgusting game of all, even the Snes, it plays better. I repeat, the one from the GBA, is the most disgusting of all.
What’s actually happening is that Toad suffers so much physical trauma that Lakitu awards him the victory out of pitty
frfr
The subtitles commentating is really neat!
Thanks for mentioning this! Definitely made it more enjoyable and easier to understand
Now I'll have to watch this all over again.
Nice! 😂
Neat is a mod by Vazkii
Has any other video on this channel has a Subtitle Commentary before?

What have we learned....Bananas and Walls equals Instant Win
We love informative Super Circuit TASes in the year of our lord 2024

To be fair game development was much faster back then (even leaving crunching aside). Teams pumping out games on a yearly basis wasn't that uncommon
I love the fact that these glitches are executed in almost the same way even though the game is on a different console/platform.

Agreed.
Where are you getting a GameBoy Advance that can connect to the internet?

Never played this one, but I see author commentary in subtitles, so it's a must watch.
huge props to whoever sponsorblocked this

16:30 (CCs On) Ah, that probably explains why I never got above a C-Rank when I was a kid.
The sky gard run at 5:50 was actually impressive
I was not aware the same exploit that was used in Super Mario Kart for skipping entire laps by bumping into walls also worked in this game!
I love TASes with commentary in the subs. Now I can enjoy the TAS and also understand WTH is going on
3:50 NOTHIN' BUT NET 🏀
LET'S GO ROB!!! So glad this tas got featured
Subtitle commentary LFG
Love me some reading behind the scenes TAS :D

Nice! Was there not a Super Circuit TAS before?
There have been a few, but this is the first one uploaded to this channel, I think.
All the other racers to Lakitu at the end of the races: "why are you letting toad get away with cheating!?"
Lakitu: "toad wasn't cheating"
0:26 I've always wanted to know how to use the blue spray?🤔

@@Slain087Thanks for the guidance. I will try your method and it will be successful.👍❤️
I clicked on this hoping it was as broken as Mario Kart 64 and I was not disappointed.
Well, considering Super Circuit was one of the only Mario Kart games not developed by Nintendo…
Are subtitle comments new? That's a really good feature
SponsorBlock absolutely destroyed this video holy..
OMG BABE WAKE UP TASVideosChannel FINALLY UPLOADED A TAS OF A GAME THAT ISNT SUPER OBSCURE
what babe?
that was crazy and nice run !!! it's a first time that i saw!!!! incredible!!
16:32 You're telling me that less than TEN SECONDS was too long!?
I thought Lakitu's "2nd Lap" sign said 2rd Lap
Banana🍌 is a tremendous Hack in this Game

nicely done

Why is this Japanese TAS guy playing as Toad? Probably because HE'S THE BEST! BUP! :D
peak karting I fear
GG !
sub 23 minutes. that was EASY RUN !

Is Mario Kart Super Circuit
なつかしい
Google maps: Estimated arrival in 5 minutes
Toad: 2,21 seconds.
Bro, WTF?! 💀 Toad is using Hacks?
Peach, Luigi, and Yoshi were consistently in the top 4. Also why are the credits in English?
Your "Rivals" are determined by a Ranking System per Character, so Toad likely has those 3 as his "top rivals."
_You're going the wrong wa--_

A glitchless run is so much more appealing
