AoA brother. Whenever you have time can you make a tutorial video about testing components like diode, capacitor, resistors, mosfit etc. Also how to read or trace a fault on a PCB. Something which can help hobbyists and starters like me. Thanks alot
Maybe the short with 1V8 LCM RESET...check that on caps around the connectors if that so remove the lcm reset filter and supply power 1v8 to the screen from dcps after booting...
Seems like good idea to backup data BEFORE beginning ANY work. I am simply watching a video, and i feel bad for both the shop and the customer. Terrible situation.

Interesting video! May I suggest you do a shot of the tiny parts you’re working on? Maybe place them on a mat with metric and standard size measurements on or just throw a banana for scale if you wanna be extra technical. As non tech people most probably don’t grasp how tiny these components or even the main boards of the electronics you work on. Thanks again
Because the CPU and GPU are not simple replacements like a capacitor or resistor AND because replacing the CPU will most likely render the data on the NAND useless. Likely the decryption will rely on the original device components for securing the encryption algorithm.
nebuzstar at first that’s not a scam, you can charge money for looking up the problem, but not 100€. I‘m also doing it like NorthridgeFix, no fix no fee, only if there was a repair attempt before, then I charge 35€ fee for the time I spend on the device, it can be 10min to 60min. But if the customer already take off the shield like in the video i wouldn’t spend too much time either, but no fee
nebuzstar lol I assume that you are not a Business owner of a repair shop, you have to calculate the time from the beginning point the customer brings in the device, write down the infos, try to repair the device, give customer infos, give back to customer. You have staff that is working for you, that you have to pay for. And if you have a really bad day, you can spend 60min on 3-4 devices you try to fix and get only 35€ for the attempt. This is why there is a standard fee. If it‘s the same customer and you fix more devices for him, then you will not charge the fee bcs he paid for more repairs in the past

I would try to push a little the CPU from the top, but if there is a short then there is most likely a bridge or short under the cpu
Isn’t that GPU is low resistance line so it will beep to ground both sides but supposed to give a reading in a normal case???
It's 0 Ohms. Dead short.
