    Just a small suggestion that might help. Use compressed air or duster spray to cool off the board. It might make hot spots stand out more when large areas heat up and heat is spreading through the ground plane of the board.

    • @minipolenet
      @minipolenet 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Freon gas was replaced with flammable butane gas. To prevent explosions, you need to buy diagnostic freeze sprays. This is nonflammable . This has long been used by electronic developers as low-temperature stress testing and repair tool. Spray the surface of the PCB until the ice freezes, and the first melting part when the power is connected is the faulty part.

    Hi Alex. From what i‘ve seen your board is jumping straight to 240mA after pressing power button. Check tristar. It usually generates some heat when it fails like that.

    Last ditch effort to replace tristar.
    Many times I’ve also had pulsing pmic using thermal camera but it did not pick up heat on a shorted capacitor near nand. Used freeze spray and melting very slightly on a nand capacitor.

    It that was a crystal next to the cap, and the cap is a bias cap, removing it could make the crystal frequency unstable or fail to start oscillating.

    After you took off the bigger chip i could see copper/brown bits,which i thought was copper and the pads had come off with the chip,but once you added the flux then the solder all seemed to be ok again,i wonder what that brown copper looking stuff was then,maybe pads as i say below.
    I think i saw about three little brown/copper round looking pads,around bottom right of where the bigger chip was placed,strange looking to me lol,i'm going to guess that them three little brown things where probably the pads them selves,as i can't think what else they could of been.
