    Awesome video. My 2014 summit had the same thing happen to it. Plug wire fried right in 2 when I was riding. Your video helped confirm suspicion of dead coil. Thanks.

    The stators magnetic field makes the rotating feel like increments.

      Wouldn’t it just be compression building and leaving

    What’s the psi they should be for a compression test mine has lost rpms and I checked compression and I got 116

    Literally the exact same thing happened the other day on my 2015 summit 800. This video might have just saved my sled from being parted out.

    Great video. I'm currently diagnosing my 2009 SkiDoo 800 P-Tek backfiring under power, then dying. Managed to get it running, and it ran strong 1 mile back to trailer. Backfired again though when shutting down. I like your step by step approach, compression tests, etc. Wondering what your opinion is about purchasing the BRP BUDS diagnostic software and interface...about 700$. and if it might have indicated those problems without some or all of the tear down. Anyhow, well done.

    Do you know any reason why somebody would turn around and pull the belt off to do a compression test?

    • @dabraapshack8754
      @dabraapshack8754  ปีที่แล้ว

      Possibly just so there is zero drag on the engine and it spins over as easy as possible but in my opinion it is good enough to just pull all the spark plugs and hold the throttle wide open and spin it over a few seconds, read the gauge and move on but everyone has their own opinion on how to do a compression test

      @@dabraapshack8754 yeah, thanks for the info buddy of mine is looking at a sled when they did the compression test but he pulled the belt every sled I've ever done. I've never pulled the belt. I wasn't sure if it made a difference or not or that anything to do with the secondary clutch or the primary clutch?

    mine has no spark in both cylinders what should i check for, kinda stumped

    • @dabraapshack8754
      @dabraapshack8754  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I would start by checking if there is power to your ignition coils by disconnecting them, and putting a multimeter on the connecter that goes to the ignition coils and seeing if they are getting power,if they are then you got bad coils, if they are not then I would just work my way back up the electrical system, checking connections to find out where you lose power

    Can u make an tutorial on how to replace thermostat I have an 2014 skidoo summit 800 and the check engine keeps coming up and the motor is over heating and the tunnel of the back is good does it needs thermostat or anything?

    • @PlayerOne306
      @PlayerOne306 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thermostat replacement they burnt out sensors overtime when not maintained.

    • @PlayerOne306
      @PlayerOne306 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just pull it off the top of the motor where it’s located and try not to spill antifreeze everywhere lol and pop a new one back one and the correct way double check every time you do something.

    What is the point of indexing the plugs? I have a 2012 etec 800R and was gonna change the plugs and never came across that. All I had was old Polaris sleds and just slapped plugs in em when they went tits up. I seen you had the index marks facing up on the one, is that for both plugs? Anyways, good videos, clear diagnosis steps. Easy to understand.

    • @dabraapshack8754
      @dabraapshack8754  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have run those engines without indexing the spark plugs before without any issues, but according to BRP, the purpose of indexing, those spark plugs is so that the opening of the end of the spark plug is facing towards the fuel injector, and it is supposed to help with longevity of the spark plug and to prevent fowling of the spark plug as well from what I’ve read up on BRP‘s website, but like I said, I have run them not indexed and had no issues. also, there is a specific part number four spark plugs designed for those sleds when torque to the torque spec given by BRP the plugs are automatically indexed

      @@dabraapshack8754 Thanks for the explanation. I figured it had something to do with the injection. Keep up the great videos. Sub'd for sure.

    I have an 800 etec XRS and the compression is 140 on the mag side and 155 on the Pto side. The machine runs great. Is this fairly good or not ?

    • @dabraapshack8754
      @dabraapshack8754  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It should still run okay but that is right at the maximum difference I would allow.
      10% of the expected 150psi

      🤣🤣🤣 yeah I guess so but I’m not the greatest with computers I have always been more of a take shit apart put it back together build shit break shit kind of guy never really messed with electronics too much until I decided I wanted to make a TH-cam channel and I basically got a laptop for that purpose and that was pretty well. The first time I ever really messed with computers and still to this day. Basically, the only reason why I ever use a laptop is just to take hours of footage and make it short enough that people might actually watch the shit

    • @alfredocarpaneto5976

      I sometimes like the fast forward because I can slow it down and see exact steps for removing parts in sequence or how to get something back together. Depends on what is happening I guess.
