It was very helpful, especially considering the difficult situation I have found myself in right now. I have just moved to a country that my partner is from, I can't yet speak the language and I am looking for a job. Opportunities for English speakers are a bit limited and despite completing years of university education I experience a lot of self-doubt, and lack of confidence in reaching out to potential employers. I feel like this journey will be a bit challenging for me, especially in the beginning, but I need to take what you say with me and build up my confidence and self-worth by remembering that a job, while important should not ultimately affect my self-confidence.
I deliberately distanced myself from someone who is amazing but who lives in a part of the country where most people speak French. I was and still am petrified of being the fool that doesn’t speak the language and that people make fun of. You’re literally about 10,000 times braver than I will ever be.
I am worried about what others think about my appearence and decisions because I know I think exactly the same things about them lmao
