Yeah I find that absolutely ridiculous! No way they should allow babies onto something like this that's meant to be an immersive role-playing experience. I honestly think that they should have specific designated voyages for adults only so they can cater some voyages to be family oriented and others for adults with more serious themes.
Thanks for uploading this Robb. I think it works better as a 4 hour deluxe dinner theatre experience vs two day hotel thing. I’m interested in refinement of curated themed experiences like this. Hopefully they keep trying different scales and environments.
This is like when there is a horrible accident on the highway, but you keep looking at it, despite the realization that you are only beginning to see the carnage… and then you realize it was semitrailer full of kittens that crashed into a semitrailer full of puppies… and everything is on fire… this is not even close to that…. Absolutely astounding how much this sucks!!!
I appreciate the effort with the video and I realize that Disney does not allow you to put a negative spin on things but this experience looks like an absolute joke for the high price that Disney is charging. This is nothing more than a combination of the queue elements of Galaxy’s edge, cheap dinner theater and 1980’s videos games. A hard pass for me!
I do see a slight improvement from Galaxys Edge. They actually figured out how to put chairs in the bar area! Blows me away that "olgas cantina" have "Standing tables".
Overall, I am not saying that it's horrific, but it's on the scale of a more immersive Medieval Times, far too expensive at half the price, and can't see ultra-wealthy visitors being pleased with this.

There are a lot of things that they did really well, and a lot of things that are really not great. I can't imagine all of this over the course of two days. I saw a comment before mine saying this would be better as a 4-hour dining experience, and I agree with that. This is not something that warrants a 2-day immersive experience.
Thanks for sharing. I've been a SW fan since I was a kid in the 90s. Still not sure if I would be into the whole role playing experience, definitely not for the current price. I think both this and the Galaxy's Edge would have been better if set in the galactic civil war era (Empire vs Rebels). Sequel trilogy is the weakest era, but that's Disney pushing their product
Yeah this was a little bit to much for some fans, like this was little bit cheesy. so yeah, it would have worked better with the original trilogy better. Mainly because the originals just happen to be the most liked among fans, also it allows more freedom as far as storytelling goes. (Not every trilogy has unexplored years in between the movies.) Plus (in my opinion) it would have been so much better to see Darth Vader (my second favorite character) and Luke Skywalker (my fifth favorite character) fight up there instead. Also in my opinion, the Empire is and can be far more intimidating than the First Order. So yeah, the Galactic Civil War Era would have been a MUCH better decision.
Two things I think they always get wrong with these things is the floor and accoustics. The floor needs to be a raised surface - metal grills or something similar, with some give to it, some sound? Because the theory is you are on a ship, so the floor won't be so solid like concrete. The second is the accoustics as you walk down the corridor - there is too much of an echo. And ok my experience is only from the big screen, and for movie audio reasons the sound quality will be better, but I think they need to bring that into the real life experience because naturally the big screen is what we are comparing it to.
I'm glad you had a good time, but this is not for me. The yelling and running around just feels too much like busy work for a child. I had flashbacks of summer camp. Thanks for sharing.
Disney missed an opportunity to link the 220 resturant to the star cruiser. Imagine going to a low orbit restuarnt (where you see the cruiser out the window) then board a transport to the Halcyon instead of walking into a concrete bunker-for 5 grand.
This was a great video to show what to expect. It’s like a large murder mystery dinner party…without the murder (except the bantha’s for their meat). My boys would love to do something like this but for the price tag, I’d rather just experience Rise of the Resistance 100 times. Thanks for sharing the video!
Reminds me of a 2 night Ren-Fair experience. Acting is about the same caliber. I won't say horrible, or excellent, just somewhere in between. It is out of this world. Give me a free ticket and I would go for sure :-)
Ok I really expected better from the lightsaber training. You ever play Vader Immortal? The lightsaber experience in that game is AMAZING. I expected them to integrate a VR controller into a lightsaber hilt, and integrate VR goggles into a blast helmet or something. That would have been awesome, and relatively easy to accomplish since the technology already exists.
I’d say AR goggles, that way the surrounding area still has people and the surrounding area and everyone could still see the saber but can still have some of the feel of VR and full body movement
Maybe one is designed to have the turn on effect and the other is for actually hitting his saber. There's a instance where she's holding it like its off but its still on probably not designed to have that retracting/extending effect just an idea 🤷🏼♂️
You know what Disney should have done? Redesigned one of their Cruise ships. It would have been perfect. You could have done so much with it and people could have still travelled. The $5,000 price tag would make absolute sense and more than anything given that true 'star cruiser' experience, but with gorgeous views above deck.
This honestly doesn't look too bad on its own considering its Disney's first attempt at something like this... the real killer is the price. Way too overpriced for something that wont be better refined for at least another year.
@@MontChevalier Not sure how this aged poorly, the price basically killed this thing like I stated. A lot more people would have been open to checking this out if it wasn't so prohibitively expensive.
@@ashador - from what I've seen Team Disney attempt with Star Wars in their Theme Parks? they will never ever raise the bar like Paramount allowed Las Vegas Hilton to do with Star Trek (it wasn't a huge place, but it that promenade had everything - even the liquor cocktails were strong enough! everyone in character Disney Cast Members you look underpaid overwhelmed tired and ready to quit!)
For everyone planning to go here, don’t get your hopes up. Don’t get me wrong, it was the COOLEST experience I’ve ever experienced in my whole entire life. It literally felt like we were in the movie doing side missions, being a part of the main story, helping the resistance or the first order and helping Rae and Chewbacca escape along with so many other things. But If you are going thinking your gonna cosplay and feel that AMAZING feeling of carrying around your light saber and your awesome cosplay outfit while going on the missions…..then your dead wrong. Absolutely NO LIGHT SABERS ALLOWED, NO MASKS ALLOWED. And if you have these out, expect to be approached in the most aggressive manner. Even when you are calmly just walking around with it turned off. What makes me so mad is that they SELL high quality EXPENSIVE light sabers.(for example you can only buy 2 per person and me and my nephew got 4 custom built light sabers but us totally at around $1,300) but the second you have them out, you are gonna get approached by the staff like you have a real weapon. Half of the staff will say it’s okay as long as you don’t turn it on, some of the staff say it’s okay if the blade is out and a lot of the staff say no light sabers at all. Don’t get me wrong, I can understand they are worried light sabers will be swung by kids and hurt somebody but AT LEAST let us carrying them. They should have a “no swing rule” or a “don’t turn your light saber on but you are more than welcome to walk around with it to feel apart of the story. It makes me so mad they want to make all this money off of selling them and then as soon as you get them out, you get in trouble. I don’t even collect light sabers, I only bought them for the purpose of being immersed from the story at the hotel just like everybody else who bought one, only to be told you have to put them away the instance you take them out in a calm manner just to walk around with. It’s every kids dream to walk around with a light saber while your at the galactic star cruiser. I’m 26 years old and my Star Wars hobby died when I was 12 but the hotel sparked that love for Star Wars since it was so immersive but to be aggressively approached just for holding it safely while walking around just made me very upset and scammed for $1,300….
Damn, you cant carry the lightsaber around? Not quite related but theres this indoor waterpark themed to a Mountain Lodge in anaheim and they have this whole META thing where you use this wand and go around the place looking for clues and shit. Great for kids. Really thought that was along the lines of what they were going to do here. To paraphrase Lando, "This Disney Deal gets worse all the TIME!"
@@rickyhyppa7960 Great Wolf Lodge does a similar thing in Wisconsin Dells - the wand activates surprising things as you wander the resort. Disney missed big time not doing something similar, seems a no-brainer but i don't know what Disney was thinking with this expensive yawn fest.
@@MrSlagle8706 That "whining" can be used to inform people if they want to truly drop that much money on the Starcruiser or not. If I was willing to drop enough money for a down payment on a car and I found out I couldn't even carry a lightsaber on my hip? That's a deal breaker right there.
Maybe this is passable for a floor show at Disney you get with the park entry fee, but for 8000 bucks? No, I'll use that for at least 3 other vacations to real spots where I can go outside.
I love Star Wars and consider myself a big devotee of the franchise, but I can't help but be embarrassed by the terrible acting and "production" of it all. Also, I'm amazed at what seems to be the majority of people looking at it all happen through their five inch phone screen, taping it, rather than actually experiencing it. You're there....why look at it through a phone?!
"Wondering if I can get a Coke Zero here or not" considering Coke is canon on Batuu, you'd think they would have Coke products on the Starcruiser as well "And this over here is where all the important stuff happens" ah yes, the most important room on the Halcyon...well you're not wrong 💀
At such a high price tag I predict this underwhelming Star Wars immersive 'experience' will crash & burn harder than the superstar destroyer into Death Star 2...
This was a big nope from me even before your video. Now, even though I would guess there's more to flesh out the 48 hours, there's no way in hell I'd pay that price for what should have been a 2-3 hour up-charge experience in one of the parks. I couldn't imagine being a parent trapped in that hotel with no means of sanity/escape for 2 days. And, for all the design work that went into it, storyline and character design is direct to video mediocre, and there is no real ATMOSPHERE anywhere.
This looks like a Role Player's heaven right here. Like I'm sure there's some hardcore Star Wars RPers out there that would fangasm over something like this, but at $6K? I don't think so.
I wish they just had a regular cruise ship or hotel where cosplay was expected from passengers so you could just experience the Star Wars universe as a regular person. Someone mentioned being sad that they couldn’t walk around with the expensive lightsabers they bought and I agree that’s bs for this price. Maybe it could have the OPTION to do storylines, like if you attended specific events (and paid extra for them), you could have experiences like this. It would be so cool to do clone trooper training like at Kamino and then have a VR experience practicing it. Or play that hologram chess looking game at the casino. Or have a lightsaber class series where you do legit lightsaber training every day and it gets progressively more difficult each day, like akin to a crash course of fencing and at the end you “fight” your classmates. There could be a padawan training series for kids!! Which would also give parents a break. Maybe for a couple hours each day they have multiple “excursion pod” options (like an actual cruise) for example to Endor to visit Ewoks and then have an experience fighting storm troopers there, like an interactive Star Tours. It would be even cooler if you could rent special equipment to use during it, like part of the price to do that excursion is that and you’re expected to have tools to do certain things like maybe the actor or virtual protagonist needs a mechanic tool and you are the mechanic so you have the tool like in the power systems part of this vid. They could have an arcade with those battle pod games, the pod racing games, all of the Star Wars games you can think of. If Disney wants to hire me to help design it lmk 😂 anyways I def agree this specific experience shown here should be like a 4 hour dining experience.
And it’s still worse than many of the kids on TH-cam. Seriously, the kids on TH-cam do much more immersive and believable Star Wars stage fencing. I think part of that is that the actors are using black series sabers, because Disney is too cheap and too conceited to buy stunt sabers from the numerous saber makers. They don’t want to support their competition, and they also don’t want to break their replicas. Also, did anyone else see Rey replace the new retractable saber for the black series one? What else was she doing on the floor in the beginning of that scene? 😂😂😂
I don’t know, but something about this just screams “Overpriced and under preformed”. At first with the trailers, I’d expect this to be an “each person has their own story” type of thing. This just looks like an elaborate play drawn out over the course of 2 days with the occasional impossible to fail games. Fun, yes. $5,000 worth of fun? I’d rather have a nicer hotel with a bit more room, and a beautiful view. Can’t even have the view thing here, all you get is a TV screen. They couldn’t even get the cube transport effect done right, just seemed really cheap.
I don't understand who thought cramping people up in a tiny space ship setting was the right call. Couldn't recreate couruscant with the jedi tempt or naboo's palace architecture and build an entire proper resort? I'd never break my bank for this.
That would have been amazing idea...wow. can't believe The Haus of Maus never tried...it would have been such a legit and multiple price point advantage in the long term.
Some parts look really good and fun and other look cheap and boring AF. It will be interesting to see what the first paying customers have to say about it and if its worth the hefty price tag and if Disney can keep up the immersion for years hell months to come

@BK Beatty why would anyone come here at all? It looks like more of a chore than fun. And seems to be some generic space theme having nothing to do with Star Wars movies.
Jesus people really pay 5k for this? You can get a nice sunny beach vacation for a few weeks with that money.

Exactly.
Tbh your description of kittens crashing into puppies and burning alive wins you the internet.
There was no "spin" on this video in any way. This is exactly what we experienced and we are showing it to you.
I could not agree more. 1000's of dollars for this is like throwing cash into the sea.

Overall, I am not saying that it's horrific, but it's on the scale of a more immersive Medieval Times, far too expensive at half the price, and can't see ultra-wealthy visitors being pleased with this.
I went, sure was sort of underwhelming
idk i think everyone is tripping. as a fan of renfaires and roleplaying, this looks like it would be a rad as fuck experience as long as i was with other fans who got into it as much as i would. a bunch of bloggers seems like the wrong audience, as do families. it’s niche as fuck and i get why it was expensive and why they’re closing it, but yeah. seems like a good thing to waste money on to me.
I would feel so sorry for the staff. Like what decisions were made in their lives that led to this station in life. I didn't know what I was expecting from the lightsaber training but that looked very disappointing
you know what would be super cool? if this was set up more like a murder mystery thing with people being given secret roles at the start. Something like "First Order spy" or something.

It would be cool but think how chaotic it would be

Is it just me or does this seem like a stressful experience tbh. Like I love Rise of the Resistance. But I don’t know if I want to experience Rise of the Resistance for two whole days.

There are a lot of things that they did really well, and a lot of things that are really not great. I can't imagine all of this over the course of two days.
I agree! Even the prequel era would have been better than the sequel era.
@@CCQ75 yeah, cause it's the best era

As with everything at Disney, the experience is undermined by being shoulder to shoulder with 20 people who probably didnt shower
It’s funny how every first order officer is just a British version of the SS
Two things I think they always get wrong with these things is the floor and accoustics. The floor needs to be a raised surface - metal grills or something similar, with some give to it, some sound? Because the theory is you are on a ship, so the floor won't be so solid like concrete. The second is the accoustics as you walk down the corridor - there is too much of an echo. And ok my experience is only from the big screen, and for movie audio reasons the sound quality will be better, but I think they need to bring that into the real life experience because naturally the big screen is what we are comparing it to.
👌👌👌👌👌👌👌
I know they needed to add a conveyor belt in some scenes so I think that’s a factor
*Seems stressful and so out of touch. Disney truly doesn't understand Star Wars.*
@BK Beatty And in other news: Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser is permanently CLOSED
it's medieval times except way more expensive and way harder
I'm glad you had a good time, but this is not for me. The yelling and running around just feels too much like busy work for a child. I had flashbacks of summer camp. Thanks for sharing.
Disney missed an opportunity to link the 220 resturant to the star cruiser. Imagine going to a low orbit restuarnt (where you see the cruiser out the window) then board a transport to the Halcyon instead of walking into a concrete bunker-for 5 grand.
This is so ridiculous. It's like playing star trek in the garage with a bunch of 12 year olds. I find this disturbing.
I'm feeling claustrophobic just by looking at it.
This was a great video to show what to expect. It’s like a large murder mystery dinner party…without the murder (except the bantha’s for their meat). Reminds me of a 2 night Ren-Fair experience. Acting is about the same caliber. I won't say horrible, or excellent, just somewhere in between. It is out of this world. Give me a free ticket and I would go for sure :-)
Ren Faire is sloppier, more sex appeal, more fun, more easy going. Starcruiser is sterile and depressing.
Seems obvious right?
AR goggle would be best.
For that price tag I expect a Rey cosplayer for a special room service
Imagine trying to perform while all these over grown kids holding their phones in the way 😅… one girl was jumping like she’s 10 😂😂
In reys entrance when you see her ignite her lightsaber you can see her drop that lightsaber to pick up another one
Good call. Had to watch it again to notice. Not a bad slight of hand.
Maybe one is designed to have the turn on effect and the other is for actually hitting his saber. There's a instance where she's holding it like its off but its still on probably not designed to have that retracting/extending effect just an idea 🤷🏼♂️
@@adamdurbin6895 I think the one that has the extending effect is too heavy to swing around, is what I heard.
You know what Disney should have done? Redesigned one of their Cruise ships. It would have been perfect. You could have done so much with it and people could have still travelled. The $5,000 price tag would make absolute sense and more than anything given that true 'star cruiser' experience, but with gorgeous views above deck.
Except at sea, people would be jumping overboard trying to escape.
@@richardvinsen2385 Don't be so daft. It's not clever.

I loved Quarks bar. We were chatting to a guy as a ferengi and girl as a klingon. He was good but she was amazing.
Thank you for letting me know about this me and my gf was gonna go and I was gonna go as mando and she as Ashoka but now I’m rethinking everything

Thank you for the video. I don’t have to go to Disney World now. You saved me tons of money.
Disney executives need counselling if they think this is worth $2k+ a night per couple.
Yup, make it like a renn faire, we don't need drama, just people drinking star wars drinks, hanging out in cantinas, etc
The fight between Rey and Kylo had better choreography than the sequels and that says a lot.
Yup
What? No it didn’t lmao
Yeah it did
And it’s still worse than many of the kids on TH-cam.
Imagine going to a theme park and see everything trough your phone in stead of ytrough your eyes. Everyone is watching with phone XD
How much extra is to have Rey visit my cabin for an hour to ensure a happy ending on the Star Cruiser?
